Impossible

“We have a God who delights in impossibilities.” – Billy Sunday

Have something to do that seems impossible? God has the answer.

Luke 1:37 For with God nothing shall be impossible.

Jesus is God

June 19, 2017

On Monday’s some of us need a lift to start the week. Today let us look at one of the names of Jesus and what He means to us.

God – Jesus is called God in several passages in the Bible. Along with His sinless life, miracles, and resurrection from the dead, His claims to be God stand firm.

John 20:27&28 Then saith he to Thomas, Reach hither thy finger, and behold my hands; and reach hither thy hand, and thrust it into my side: and benot faithless, but believing. And Thomas answered and said unto him, My Lord and my God.

How Great Thou Art

March 28, 2017

Psalms 86:10 For thou art great, and doest wondrous things: thou art God alone.

In church on Sunday the special music was a beautiful old hymn that once again touched my heart:

Verse #1.

O Lord my God, When I in awesome wonder,

Consider all the worlds Thy Hands have made;

I see the stars, I hear the rolling thunder,

Thy power throughout the universe displayed.

Chorus:
Then sings my soul, My Saviour God, to Thee,

How great Thou art, How great Thou art.

Then sings my soul, My Saviour God, to Thee,

How great Thou art, How great Thou art!

Verse #2
When through the woods, and forest glades I wander,

And hear the birds sing sweetly in the trees.

When I look down, from lofty mountain grandeur

And see the brook, and feel the gentle breeze.

Verse #3
And when I think, that God, His Son not sparing;

Sent Him to die, I scarce can take it in;

That on a Cross, my burdens gladly bearing,

He bled and died to take away my sin.

Verse #4
When Christ shall come, with shout of acclamation,

And take me home, what joy shall fill my heart.

Then I shall bow, in humble adoration,

And then proclaim: “My God, how great Thou art!”

Priorities

March 22, 2017

Tired of all the many things that you have to do? Job, family, church, home and all the other activities that sometimes overwhelm you? If you have the attitude that everything you do is to honor The Lord Jesus, then nothing is to hard. Keep the thought that your labor is not in vain. Get your priorities right. God, family and then everything else. Make sure to put Him first.

1 Corinthians 15:58 Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye stedfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labour is not in vain in the Lord.

Our Sin, God’s Love

March 15, 2017

Our sins put Jesus on the Cross, but Love kept Him there!

John 3:16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

What is Bigger Than God?

March 5, 2017

Do you know the answer to this riddle? Think about it. Take one section at a time. Study the following verse. The answer is in it.

Jeremiah 32:17 Ah Lord God! behold, thou hast made the heaven and the earth by thy great power and stretched out arm, and there is nothing too hard for thee:

Obedience

February 27, 2017

What is the greatest thing that keeps us from obeying God?

Partial obedience is the answer. Read the story of Saul in 1 Kings 15.

1 Samuel 15:22 And Samuel said, Hath the Lord as great delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices, as in obeying the voice of the Lord? Behold, to obey is better than sacrifice, and to hearken than the fat of rams.

God Answers

SOS Events is blessed to have dedicated people all over the USA. Yesterday you were asked to pray for workers and the Lord answered prayer. Carl from Alabama is coming to help close the Strawberry Festival and Stephanie from Pennsylvania is coming to help with the opening. They are team leaders from their area. Tonight there is a training for five new ladies that want to work as a Sunday School activity. Thank you for praying and please continue to pray for SOS Events.

Psalms 143:1 Hear my prayer, O Lord, give ear to my supplications: in thy faithfulness answer me, and in thy righteousness.

Great is the Lord

Psalms 48:1 Great is the Lord, and greatly to be praised in the city of our God, in the mountain of his holiness.

God is Great

September 10, 2016

Old hymns that have been sung in our churches for years are wonderful. Some of the new worship songs speaks to the heart but let us not stop singing the hymns of the past. They speak volumes of how great God is. We need the old along with the new.

Just read the words of this great hymn and make it a prayer of worship today.

Psalms 86:10 For thou art great, and doest wondrous things: thou art God alone.
