Is The LORD First In Your Heart?

August 23, 2026

What does it mean to truly love the Lord? This verse gives us the answer: with all our heart, soul, and strength.

God does not want only a small part of our lives. He wants to be first in our thoughts, our decisions, our relationships, and everything we do. When we love Him wholeheartedly, serving Him is not just a duty—it becomes a joy.

Our love for God is shown in the way we obey His Word, spend time with Him in prayer, and share His love with others. We will never love Him perfectly, but every day we can choose to love Him more.

Today, ask yourself: Is the Lord first in my heart?

And thou shalt love the LORD thy God with all thine heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy might. Deuteronomy 6:5

Love And Forgive

August 20, 2026

Do you have someone you will not forgive?

Forgiveness is a choice. We can harbor that hurt and not forgive or you can choose to forgive and try to mend that broken relationship.

If restoration is not possible, then forgive that person in your heart. Pray for those who despite fully use use you, the Bible tells us. It is hard to hold onto not forgiving when you genuinely pray for that person.

Decide today and start to pray for that one who has hurt you. You will have a freedom you cannot imagine until you do.

What Is True Love?

June 24, 2026

For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
John 3:16

What do you think of when you hear the word love? You may think of your spouse, your children.

We use the word love about material things. “ I love my house”

What is true love? The best example is found in the familiar verse, John 3:16. For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

God’s love is the greatest love we can experience. He sent His Son, Jesus, to die on the cross to pay the penalty for our sin.

Because of His great love we can have eternal life.

Have you accepted His love?

Love One Another

June 17, 2026

In a world that often encourages us to look out for ourselves first, Jesus gives us a higher calling—to love others the way He loves us. His love is patient, forgiving, sacrificial, and unconditional. It reaches beyond differences, overlooks faults, and seeks the good of others.

As Christians, we are not simply asked to be kind when it is easy. We are commanded to love as Christ loved us. When we show compassion, offer forgiveness, lend a helping hand, or share the Gospel, we reflect the love of Jesus to a world that desperately needs Him.

Today, ask the Lord to help you love others through His strength and grace. One act of Christlike love can make an eternal difference in someone’s life.

Lord, help me to love others as You have loved me. Let Your love shine through my words, actions, and attitudes today.

Where Is Your Affection?

August 3, 2025

This is a great verse for today. When we go to church to worship, or are having our daily devotions, we are not concentrating on the message or what God is trying to tell us.

Instead, we are thinking about our problems, what needs to be done, or maybe about our plans for vacation, family fun or other activities that have nothing to do with Heavenly thoughts.

All of us have done this many times but we need to ask God to forgive us and help us to keep our thoughts centered on what God is telling us.

Set you affection (love) on things above, not on worldly things.

Do You Know How To Make A Sandwich?

March 22, 2025

How do you make a sandwich? Make preparations by getting the ingredients together.

First you have to choose the bread. White, whole wheat, rye or some other kind.

Then the filling. Roast beef, chicken, tuna, peanut butter or whatever you like in a sandwich. Maybe you prefer something spicy or hot.

Then you top it with mayo, mustard, ketchup or something to make it taste good. Put the other piece of bread and it is finished.

Do you know how to make a spiritual sandwich?

Make preparations by praying about the situation.

Maybe you have a family member, coworker or friend that you need to reprimand for something they are doing that is wrong or not pleasing to God.

Make a sandwich. First choose something that the person you need to correct has done right. Compliment them for the good thing they have done.

Then the meat or filling. Tell them what they need to do to correct the error of their ways.

Top it with LOVE. Love makes whatever is unpleasant go down smoothly.

Put the top on it with something positive and encouraging.

Brethren, if any of you do err from the truth, and one convert him; Let him know, that he which converteth the sinner from the error of his way shall save a soul from death, and shall hide a multitude of sins. James 5:19 & 20

Have A Blessed Valentine’s Day!

February 14, 2025

If you have a Sweetheart to share Valentines Day with, you are blessed, but if you do not have a Spouse or special someone you are still blessed. You have the One who loves you more than anyone possibly could. His name is Jesus. Have a blessed Valentines Day.

1 John 4:9 In this was manifested the love of God toward us, because that God sent his only begotten Son into the world, that we might live through him

Compassion For Others

February 13, 2025

As Christians we need to have compassion for one another. To our fellow Christians and also to the unsaved.

We will never win the lost by being unkind, rude or unforgiving to them or to our brothers and sisters in Christ.

Others are watching our actions, our speech and even our tone of voice. Courtesy and love to our spouses, children and others is the key to the peace and joy in our homes, workplace and family gatherings.

The unsaved that are watching will then want what we have and we can share the love of Jesus and His forgiveness.
