The way to overcome sin: First you must accept Jesus as your Savior. Then read and memorize God’s Word.
This verse tells us if we hide God’s Word in our hearts we will not sin against God.
All our sins are forgotten if we have trusted in Jesus death, burial and resurrection.
It is important for us to daily read the Bible and take time to communicate with God through prayer.
If we are born again, God has also done something wonderful for us! He sent the Holy Spirit to dwell in us and be our teacher, guide and He will lead us in the right path.
This I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh. (Galatians 5:16 KJV)
If we are having a problem with temptation, there is only one way we can conquer that temptation. The Bible calls it the lust of the flesh.
We overcome temptation by walking in the spirit. When we accept Jesus as our Savior, the Holy Spirit comes and dwells in us.
Then we have a choice. We can listen to that sometimes still small voice, or we can ignore it.
To walk in the Spirit we must learn to listen to Him, then He will help us to turn from our temptation. He will make a way to escape. We must choose to take it.
After a hurricane many people lost power. We don’t realize how much we depend on electricity in our lives. No light, no hot food, no communication via internet or social media.we want our power back as soon as possible.
In our Christian life we can loose power also. We quench the Holy Spirit by the way we live. No prayer, no communication with God. We stop Bible reading, praying and fellowshiping with other spiritual Christians and we don’t tell others about Jesus. We need our power back!
We have to depend on the linemen to restore our electricity. We have no control over that.
And we need to depend on God to restore our Power. However, we need to confess our sin and ask for power of the Holy Spirit in our lives. Let us get our Spiritual Power turned back on!
“We are too busy to pray, and so we are too busy to have power. We have a great deal of activity, but we accomplish little. Many services, but few conversions; much machinery, but few results.” – R.A. Torrey
Our churches have become a place for programs instead of powerful preaching. Buildings instead of blessings. Entertainment instead of enlightenment.
Pray for revival in our hearts first, then in the pastors and finally for souls to be saved. Let us get back to power of the Holy Spirit that we may see true revival.
Sometimes our hearts are heavy or our minds are so clouded with cares of our life that we don’t know how to pray. We do have the Holy Spirit who then prays through us and for us. Try in those times to find one thing to be thankful for and tell Jesus thank you for that. Remember, He knows about the situation and can help in any circumstance.
Romans 8:26 Likewise the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered.
The Cleburne County Rodeo in Heflin led by Dwayne Banks was a great event for SOS Events Ministry. It was a large crowd Friday and Saturday night and we were in a perfect location for 263 people to come before the 3 Things God Cannot Do board and God Blessed greatly with 12 precious souls saved under the ministry tent.
The Holy Spirit was felt by all as lives were changed and the love of Jesus was shown to everyone. We never know how our witness or tracts handed out will go forward in people’s lives so it’s always a great day to Serve Our Savior and share this life saving ministry.
“It is a good thing to give thanks unto the LORD, And to sing praises unto thy name, O most High:” Psalm 92:1
Por cuanto me has alegrado, oh Jehová, con tus obras; En las obras de tus manos me gozo. 5. Cuán grandes son tus obras, oh Jehová! Salmo 92:1
