Wonderful Opportunities

May 31, 2022

In the past few months, Carolyn Curtis, cofounder of SOS Events Ministry has had many opportunities to speak at churches, organizations and to individuals giving her testimony and telling others how they can witness to people using the “3 Things God Can Not Do”.

God has blessed with new volunteers, new supporters and more importantly people learning how to witness. All the praise belongs to the Lord for these opportunities.

I will bless the Lord at all times: his praise shall continually be in my mouth. My soul shall make her boast in the Lord: the humble shall hear thereof, and be glad. O magnify the Lord with me, and let us exalt his name together. Psalms 34:1-3

God’s Protection

This is an actual photo of a church in Virginia that supports SOS Events. What a great image of God’s protection in a storm.

In our lives many storms come. God is always there, protecting His children. We can trust Jesus to get us through whatever storm we may face.

Be strong and of a good courage, fear not, nor be afraid of them: for the LORD thy God, he it is that doth go with thee; he will not fail thee, nor forsake thee. Deuteronomy 31:6

Memorial Day is Monday!

May 27, 2022

In America a day is set aside to honor our military who have fought and some have died for our freedom.

The Bible tells us of another who died to set not only the citizens of the USA, but everyone in the world who accepts His death, burial and resurrection as truth. His name is Jesus.

For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. John 3:16

A Bible Verse For You!

Charity=Love

May 25, 2022

In the Bible charity means love. Definition: In a general sense, love, benevolence, good will; that disposition of heart which inclines men to think favorably of their fellow men to think favorably of their fellow men, and to do them good. In a theological sense, it includes supreme love to God, and universal good will to men.

We have focused on the fruits of the Spirit, but without love it is all meaningless. The greatest is love. Love for God, family and others.

Today, let us do something special for the people we love. Then go further and do something special for a neighbor or stranger.

The Last Fruit of the Spirit- Temperance

May 24, 2022

But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, meekness, temperance: Galatians 5:22&23

Temperance is Emotional Restraint or Self-Control. Do we ever get angry and loose self-control? We have a temper and it shows.

How do we conquer bad temper? Give it all to Jesus. He wants us to be in control over our emotions.

Is it sinful to be angry? Not necessarily. What is sinful is how we control that anger. If we find ourselves getting angry, it is better to walk away than to shout, yell or worse.

The old saying I’d count to ten before you react. Good advice. Today let us decide to control our temper and give it to the Lord.

Fruit of the Spirit- Meekness

May 23, 2022

But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, meekness, temperance: Galatians 5:22&23

Biblical meaning of meekness: Meekness is essentially an attitude or quality of heart whereby a person is willing to accept and submit without resistance to the will and desire of someone else.

What a great definition of meekness. God’s Word tells us to be willing to have an attitude of submission. That is preferring others before ourselves.

Most of all we must have a heart that is submission to God. Allow Him to change our attitude of being right to accepting another’s desire above our own.

(That does not mean we have to be submissive in an abusive situation. If you are in a relationship that you are suffering abuse, get out, pray that God will give you wisdom and show you where to go for help)
