Little Sins

February 28, 2014

“A little thorn may cause much suffering. A little cloud may hide the sun. Little foxes spoil the vines; and little sins do mischief to the tender heart.”
Charles Spurgeon
As Christians we often think there are BIG sins, like murder, adultery, stealing, etc. We would never participate in any of those.
But the little sins we can get away with and it won’t hurt anyone. A “white” lie, gossip, unforgiveness, and many others.
Sin is sin and it can ruin the life of a Christian. Let us be careful to identify, confess and put behind us the “little” sins in our lives, that we might be the person that God wants us to be.

1 John 1:9
If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

Strawberry Festival Begins Today

February 27, 2014

Today begins 11 straight days of opportunity to win souls at the Strawberry Festival in Plant City, FL.
God has given SOS a wonderful team of people who have a desire to witness for The Lord.
Will you join with us in prayer for the lost men, women, boys and girls that will pass by the booth?
The Holy Spirit is the One who draws them to us, convicts them of sin and prepares the heart to receive the message of salvation.
It is our responsibility to give them the gospel and trust God for the increase.

1 Corinthians 3:7
So then neither is he that planteth any thing, neither he that watereth; but God that giveth the increase.

True Wisdom

February 26, 2014

Today in our world there is a great lack of true wisdom. We see politicians make decisions that effect all of us but they don’t want these decisions to pertain to themselves. Some police officers believe they are above the law but are quick to make the average citizen obey whatever they say. Teachers who take advantage of students, etc., we could go on and on, but the main problem is that we have allowed the lawmakers to take God out of our society.
We need wisdom in our homes, our cities, counties and nation.

Proverbs 9:10
The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom:
and the knowledge of the holy is understanding.

Rejoicing

February 25, 2014

SOS Events Ministries has many reasons to rejoice. Every week at flea markets, fairs and other like events souls are saved. The wonderful thing about it is that we work as a team.
Usually one team member presents the “3 Things God Can Not Do” to an unsaved person and another soul winner tells the person how to be saved by sharing the ABC’s of salvation. God gives the increase.
If you would like to know more contact SOS: info@sosevents.org.

John 4:36
And he that reapeth receiveth wages, and gathereth fruit unto life eternal:that both he that soweth and he that reapeth may rejoice together.

Answer To Prayer

February 24, 2014

“Prayer is asking; the answer to prayer is receiving.”
John R. Rice
Thank everyone who prayed for SOS training yesterday. There were 24 people who took the training and most signed up to witness in the booth at Strawberry Festival.
Keep praying with us for a few more workers and souls to be saved.
We are expecting God to answer in great measure.

Matthew 21:22
And all things, whatsoever ye shall ask in prayer, believing, ye shall receive.

Prayer Needed!

February 23, 2014

Needed Prayer! Today is our last training for soul winners for the Strawberry Festival in Plant City, Florida. The Festival starts Thursday and SOS is still in need of Christians to be a witnesses.
Pray with us that laborers will come to help us and then pray for SOULS to be saved.
This is a great opportunity as people from many states and even several countries come to the Strawberry Festival every year.

James 5:16B
The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much.

Are You A Signpost?

February 22, 2014

A good witness is like a signpost. It doesn’t matter if it is old, young, ugly or pretty; it has to point to the right direction and be easily understood. We must be a witness to Christ and point to Him.

Acts 1:8
But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you:and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.

Sitting or Sharing?

February 21, 2014

Are you motivated from passionately sitting to positively sharing?
God commands every Christian to be a witness. Most think going to church, tithing and doing good works is enough.
If we truly loved our neighbor as the Bible commands we would share the gospel with them and give them the opportunity to be saved.
Our neighbor is anyone who we come in contact with in our daily walk.
The least you can do is hand someone a Bible tract today.

Romans 1:16
For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ:for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.

Amazing Grace

February 20, 2014

John Newton wrote “Amazing Grace” in 1779.
His Godly mother died when he was 7 years old, but not before she taught him Bible verses and hymns, and prayed fervently for him.
He was saved after much sin and many years of service in the British Navy. After a terrific storm at sea, when the sailor thought that all was lost and he was going to die, on March 10, 1748, he gave his life to Christ.
He wrote, “The Lord came to me from on high and delivered me from deep waters.”
He became a powerful preacher, a foe of slavery and wrote hundreds of hymns.
He never forgot his Mother’s influence. We can learn from his experience.
Start teaching our children and grandchildren about The Lord when they are young and even though they may stray, our prayers and training will not be fruitless.

Proverbs 22:6
Train up a child in the way he should go:
and when he is old, he will not depart from it.

Funny Story

February 19, 2014

Billy Graham was returning
to Charlotte after a
speaking engagement
and when his plane arrived there was a limousine there
to transport him to his home. As he prepared to get
into the limo,
he stopped
and spoke to the driver.

“You know”
he said,
“I am 87 years old
and I have never
driven a limousine.
Would you mind if I
drove it for a while?”

The driver said, “No problem. Have at it.”

Billy gets into the driver’s seat and they head off
down the highway.
A short distance away
sat a rookie State Trooper operating his first speed trap.
The long black limo went by him doing 70 in a 55 mph zone.
The trooper pulled out
and easily caught the limo
and he got out of his patrol car to begin the procedure.

The young trooper walked up to the driver’s door
and when the glass
was rolled down,
he was surprised to see
who was driving.

He immediately excused himself and went back to his car
and called his supervisor.

He told the supervisor,
“I know we are supposed to enforce the law….
But I also know that
important people are
given certain courtesies.
I need to know what
I should do because
I have stopped a
very important person.”

The supervisor asked,
“Is it the governor?”

The young trooper said,
“No, he’s more important
than that.”

The supervisor said,
“Oh, so it’s the president.”

The young trooper said,
“No, he’s even more
important than that.”

The supervisor finally asked,
“Well then, who is it?”
The young trooper said,
“I think it’s Jesus,
because he’s got Billy Graham for a chauffeur!”
