Power or Programs?

September 29, 2017

“We are too busy to pray, and so we are too busy to have power. We have a great deal of activity, but we accomplish little. Many services, but few conversions; much machinery, but few results.” – R.A. Torrey

Acts 1:8 But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.

September 26, 2017

“The prayer offered to God in the morning during your quiet time is the key that unlocks the door of the day. Any athlete knows that it is the start that ensures a good finish.” – Adrian Rogers

Mark 11:24  “Therefore I say unto you, What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them.” – Jesus

37 Decisions

September 19, 2017

Why are SOS leaders and volunteers so passionate about this ministry?  Because of men, women and children…like Nikki.See this handwritten testimony of Nikki J., 12 years old? She accepted Christ at the SOS booth at the Trail of Tears event this past Sat in Waterloo, Al.

Will you join us in praying for her and the 36 others who made decisions for Christ at this event and for the SOS Leaders and Volunteers who “went” and shared the gospel?

Romans 10:13 For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.

Irma Update

September 13, 2017

Thank you to everyone who prayed for SOS Events Ministry during the hurricane Irma. God spared our property from a direct hit and there was no damage to the buildings. Electricity was restored late yesterday, but still no internet and phone service is spotty, so communication and regular office work cannot be continued as usual. There is a lot of debris on the property that needs to be cleaned up (volunteers would be appreciated). Prayers were answered and the Lord gave us safety. There was no loss of life and all SOS Events staff and volunteers came thought safely. Praise the Lord for His grace and protection. Hopefully by next week everything will be back to normal and witnessing, Bible Studies to new Christians and the office will be up and running.

Psalms 52:9,  I will praise thee for ever, because thou hast done it: and I will wait on thy name; for it is good before thy saints.

Jesus Our Shelter

September 8, 2017

For us who are in the path of the storm, a special reminder to look to Jesus for wisdom, comfort and protection. To those of you who are not affected by the storms please pray for those who are.

Psalms 27:5 For in the time of trouble he shall hide me in his pavilion: in the secret of his tabernacle shall he hide me; he shall set me up upon a rock.

Your Pastor

August 28, 2017

Do you pray for your Pastor? He needs all the help and prayer you can give him. He has many burdens he cannot share with anyone except his Heavenly Father because of his great and many responsibilities for his family and congregation. Pray for him today and everyday.

2 Thessalonians 1:11 Wherefore also we pray always for you, that our God would count you worthy of this calling, and fulfil all the good pleasure of his goodness, and the work of faith with power:

How To Love The Unlovable

August 26, 2017

Do you have a neighbor or a family member that is not very lovable? Sometimes certain people are hard to love. Love is a choice. One thing that helps us to love the unlovable is prayer and forgiveness. Pray for that person, not just once but daily. Not that the Lord will bring something bad on them but that God will give YOU the love of Christ for that person. It works. It is hard to harbor ill feelings toward a person you are praying for.
Matthew 5:44 But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you;

SOS Alabama

August 25, 2017

Ok leaders…need your help and prayers. Looking for 2 additional leaders to bring some volunteers with them to En Fuego event this Sat in Verbena, Al. Your church may already have plans to attend and if so this would be a GREAT way to plug in your youth. Please pray for the needs for workers at this Alabama event tomorrow and that many souls will be saved.

Luke 10:2 Therefore said he unto them, The harvest truly is great, but the labourers are few: pray ye therefore the Lord of the harvest, that he would send forth labourers into his harvest.

Just One

August 23, 2017

Have you heard the expression “Be careful what you pray for”. God answers prayer specifically. Sometimes we ask for something small when He could have given you something more. This is an example that happened at an SOS Events booth recently. Nothing was happening. No one wanted to stop by to see the “3 Things God Can Not Do”. All through the event the soul winner prayed, “One, Lord, just give us one.” The event was about to end after 4 hours and one young man came over to check things out. He wanted to be saved and in just a few minutes he called upon Jesus to be his Savior. The event ended with JUST ONE! God wanted to show us something. Never again at an event will we pray for just one when God wants to see many people saved.

Matthew 21:22 And all things, whatsoever ye shall ask in prayer, believing, ye shall receive.
