God Is

October 31, 2015

GOD IS:

All knowing John 16:30

All powerful Luke 9:43

Always present Psalm 46:1

Always truthful Titus 1:2

Always the same Malachi 3:6

2 Timothy 2:15  Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.

Halloween

October 30, 2015

Halloween has many traditions dating back over 2000 years. What originally came from superstition and festivals to keep away evil spirits has now become in America a time for displays of witches, goblins and scary things. Children go from house to house saying “Trick or Treat” and older teens sometimes will soap windows or litter a yard with toilet paper.

SOS Events uses this day on October 31st to win people to the Lord. Tomorrow SOS team members and volunteers will be working at 9 events just around our area in Florida. Many people will be given the gospel and your prayers for the lost souls are greatly appreciated.

Luke 19:10  For the Son of man is come to seek and to save that which was lost.

Home

October 29, 2015

HOME. What a wonderful word. Tom Curtis spent 12 days in the hospital after major surgery and his focus was on getting strong enough to come home. He worked diligently to be able to be released to come home. Then the joyful moment when he stepped in the door. He was able to eat what he wanted, sleep without being interrupted and just relax. What a blessing from the Lord. (He won 2 people to the Lord in the hospital as well as prayed with several nurses and caregivers)

Our focus as Christians should be that we are working diligently to get ready to go to our eternal home, Heaven. Our works do not save us but we want to be able to have the Savior meet us and say well done. That will be a joyful moment when we step into Heaven and all the trials of this earth will be gone and only blessing will be there.

Matthew 25:21    His lord said unto him, Well done, thou good and faithful servant: thou hast been faithful over a few things, I will make thee ruler over many things: enter thou into the joy of thy lord.

Brighten Your Corner

October 28, 2015

Do not wait until some deed of greatness you may do,Do not wait to shed your light afar;

To the many duties ever near you now be true,

Brighten the corner where you are.

Refrain:

Brighten the corner where you are!

Brighten the corner where you are!

Someone far from harbor you may guide across the bar;

Brighten the corner where you are!

Just above are clouded skies that you may help to clear,

Let not narrow self your way debar;

Though into one heart alone may fall your song of cheer,

Brighten the corner where you are.

Here for all your talent you may surely find a need,

Here reflect the bright and Morning Star;

Even from your humble hand the Bread of Life may feed,

Brighten the corner where you are.

Ina D. Ogden published 1913 (you can listen to it  on Utube)

This is an old happy song written over 100 years ago, but it will still lift your spirits today. The message in it is so true. Maybe you have a friend who is going through a hard time, a phone call, email or sometimes just a smile or a shoulder to cry on makes all the difference in the world to that person. You can always pray with someone.

It is our responsibility as Christians to let our light shine brightly and reflect the Love of Jesus to a hurting world.

Matthew 5:16  Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.

Changed Lives

October 27, 2015

Corey, age 25, wrote on the back of his decision card, “I feel wonderful to have Jesus in my heart.”

This is just one of the comments from the 60 plus souls that made a decision at the Talladega Races in Alabama. What a joy to be a part of SOS Events Ministry and see people’s lives changed and become new.

2 Corinthians 5:17  Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.

How is Your Heart?

October 26, 2015

Church sign: The only way to Heaven is through your heart.

Romans 10:9-10 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.

Salvations at Talladega

October 24, 2015

Praise the Lord, 15 souls saved yesterday at Talladega races.

Romans 10:10  For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.

Preach the Word

October 23, 2015

Tom Curtis is always a witness for the Lord. Myra is a sweet young woman who is in housekeeping at the hospital. True to form Tom witnessed to her when he first got to the hospital. She trusted in Jesus and was excited to learn she  would get a Bible study in the mail in a week or two.

The wait for his surgery was several hours and while sitting in the waiting room Myra saw me and came over to give me a hug. She was still talking about her salvation and wanted to be sure she sees Tom before he is released to go home.

Please continue to pray for him as recovery is not going as well as we would like.

2 Timothy 4:2  Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all longsuffering and doctrine.

Autumn Harvest

October 22, 2015

Autumn is harvest time. Usually farmers are bringing in the harvest and working hard to make sure all the crops are safely stored or preserved.

SOS Events ministry is also in the harvest fields bringing in a harvest of souls to the Lord Jesus Christ. Yesterday again God brought in a harvest of souls. Twelve precious people made decisions for Christ at the Plant City Flea Market.

Praise the Lord for his faithfulness and also for the faithfulness of the SOS team who are at that flea market every week.

John 4:35  Say not ye, There are yet four months, and then cometh harvest? behold, I say unto you, Lift up your eyes, and look on the fields; for they are white already to harvest.
