Our Words

November 30, 2017

An old saying, “Sticks and Stones can break my bones, but words can never hurt me.” This statement is totally untrue. Our words can encourage, uplift and help someone else, or they can deeply hurt and wound. Once spoken we cannot take them back. God tells us in his word to speak good words.

Trained Workers

November 29, 2017

All of the Trainers, team members and supporters with SOS Events Ministry are important. Teams from across the USA and beyond are a true blessing and hundreds of souls have come to Christ this year. On January 20, 2018 from 10-2 there will be a meeting of all Florida Trained Workers in Lakeland. This is a chance to meet the Key Leaders, the Board Members and hear a special speaker who will motivate us to Serve Our Savior with renewed excitement to win souls. If you are working with SOS Events and live outside of Florida you are more than welcome to attend. We do need an accurate number of people coming as lunch will be served so look at your calendar and let us know if you plan to attend. Call the office 813-494-7512 or email info@sosevents.org.

Wisdom from Founder of SOS Events

November 28, 2017

“The hardest thing about evangelism is getting up in the morning and trusting God.”

Thomas Curtis

1 Timothy 4:10

For therefore we both labour and suffer reproach, because we trust in the living God, who is the Saviour of all men, specially of those that believe.

Love One Another

November 27, 2017

While many of us are preparing for a joyous Christmas Season, there are also many around us who are really hurting. For some it may be Christmas without someone they love who has died, for others it may be illness of a spouse or child that may end in death and then there are those people who are ill themselves or are lonely because they have no family or close friends. We need to look around and have compassion on those hurting people. A phone call, text message, card, visit or invitation to share your festivities may be just the thing that will help them get through the holiday season. And always keep them in your prayers. As Christians we need to love one another as Jesus commanded.

John 15:12 This is my commandment, That ye love one another, as I have loved you.

God’s Gift to You

November 26, 2017

God gave us the greatest gift that will last for all eternity. Presents we give and receive here are only temporary, and maybe will last for a little while. You can receive the gift that will last forever. Ask Jesus to forgive your sins and invite Him to be your Savior. It will be the best gift you will ever get and this Christmas you will truly have the joy you have never known.

Jesus is the Reason for the Season

November 25, 2017

Thanksgiving Day is now past and most people are now getting ready for the biggest holiday of the year. Shopping, wrapping, cooking and cleaning is primary on the minds of everyone. In all of that preparation we tend to forget what Christmas is all about. There is a saying, “Jesus is the reason for the season.” How true. Do not neglect your devotion time with Him. Bible reading and prayer are more important when we are busy. It keeps our focus on Jesus and helps us get through the work and preparation for the Holidays.

Psalms 29:2 Give unto the Lord the glory due unto his name; worship the Lord in the beauty of holiness.

Busy Day

November 22, 2017

Tomorrow is Thanksgiving and many people are very busy today. Traveling, cooking, shopping and thinking about the football game or the Thanksgiving Day Parade. The thing that gets left out is the most important thing. Why we have Thanksgiving. It is a day set aside to worship God for His bountiful blessings. A day to thank Him for out homes, families and safety throughout the past year. Let us stop the hustle and bustle and give Him the thanks He deserves tomorrow. A good idea would be to go around the table and ask everyone for one thing they are thankful for. Everyone can participate from a small child to the oldest adult. Have a great rest of the day and have a Happy Thanksgiving.

Ephesians 5:20

Giving thanks always for all things unto God and the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ;
