In Hamilton Square, NJ, a small town near Trenton, a local church, Faith Baptist, hosts a yearly event called Harvest Hayride. Every year this event grows. It lasts for 2 nights and over a thousand people attend. Everything is free. Food, games, hayride, prizes and fun, all provided by the church with the purpose of winning their community to the Lord, and the people come.
SOS Events has been part of this event for many years and now has a dedicated group of workers and trainers in the NJ area.
This year fifty-five decisions were recorded at Harvest Hayride.

Revelation 22:17
And the Spirit and the bride say, Come. And let him that heareth say, Come. And let him that is athirst come. And whosoever will, let him take the water of life freely.

Halloween Alternative

October 30, 2014

IMG_1938.JPG
Twenty-two decisions were recorded at a Trunk or Treat event in at Eastmont Baptist Church in Montgomery, Alabama this past weekend.
Numerous churches and organizations will have alternative Halloween events for children.
Many children and their parents hear the Gospel at these events.
Halloween is a celebration for multitudes, using symbols of witches, ghosts. and evil things, however, SOS Events Ministry uses this time to present the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus at several events.
God once again has turned evil into good. Praise the Lord.

Genesis 50:20
But as for you, ye thought evil against me; but God meant it unto good, to bring to pass, as it is this day, to save much people alive.

Happy Birthday

October 29, 2014

Today is Tom Curtis’ birthday. He is 78 years old. His life has been a life of joys and hardships. In 1980 he was saved after the death of his son, Nick.
Nick was playing at home with friends when a gasoline can tipped over and another kid through a match at him. He was burned over 80% of his body and lived for 3 months. The last day of Nick’s life he asked his Dad this question, “Dad, do you know Jesus Christ personally?”
Tom answered, “Nick, there is no way to know Jesus, He is dead.”
Nick replied, “Dad, I know Him.” And that was the last words Nick spoke, he died.
Tom was a broken man. Nine years later he was invited to church and heard the Gospel for the first time and was saved.
Tom has followed the Lord faithfully since that day and has been a successful businessman, father, grandfather, husband and friend to many.
His heart’s desire has been to be a witness to everyone he meets and together with his wife founded SOS Events Ministry.
Thousands of souls have been saved through Tom’s life and ministry.
Happy Birthday, Tom. May God continue to bless you.
If you would like to talk to Tom he is always ready to listen and pray for you. Call him at 813-784-8242.

Psalms 112:1
Praise ye the Lord.
Blessed is the man that feareth the Lord,
that delighteth greatly in his commandments.

Fear by John Westley

October 28, 2014

“Give me one hundred preachers who fear nothing but sin and desire nothing but God, and I care not whether they be clergymen or laymen, they alone will shake the gates of Hell and set up the kingdom of Heaven upon Earth.”
-John Wesley

Psalms 111:10
The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom:
a good understanding have all they that do his commandments:
his praise endureth for ever.

The Bonsai Tree

October 27, 2014

SOS Events had a booth at a County fair. In the booth next to ours was a Chinese man, who sold bonsai trees.
When things were slow, the SOS worker, asked the Chinese man,”How are things going?”
In broken English, the man replied, “Slow, I need to sell my Bonsai trees.”
“Which one would you like to sell?”
The Chinese man pointed to one of the most expensive of his bonsai trees.
“I will pray and ask God to bless you and that you will sell that bonsai tree,”
The next day, the SOS worker, came into the booth and the Chinese man with great excitement came over and ask her this question, “Who is your God and what is his name? After you left yesterday, a lady came by and bought that bonsai tree. Your God answers prayer.”
Thinking quickly, the SOS worker said, “His name is Jesus.”
“I want to know this Jesus,” the Chinese man replied.
Throughout the day when things were slow, The salvation story was explained to this Chinese man.
The next day, the man came over to the SOS booth and said, “I did it, I asked Jesus into my heart.”
SOS found a Chinese church in the man’s hometown so that his wife and mother could hear the gospel also.
What a joy to have the opportunity to lead someone from halfway around the world to the Lord Jesus Christ.

John 3:16
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

One Soul

October 26, 2014

Sometimes, we as soul winners get discouraged because only one or two persons get saved at an event. We should be rejoicing over that one soul and be thankful that God uses us to bring that person to Him.
There are many examples of our worth to God in scripture. The parable of the 99 sheep is one example.
The Shepard left his 99 sheep to find the one that was lost. How he loved that one sheep.
Matthew 18:12-13
How think ye? if a man have an hundred sheep, and one of them be gone astray, doth he not leave the ninety and nine, and goeth into the mountains, and seeketh that which is gone astray?
And if so be that he find it, verily I say unto you, he rejoiceth more of that sheep, than of the ninety and nine which went not astray.

In Isaiah 13:12
I will make a man more precious than fine gold;
One soul is precious to God.
Luke 15:7
I say unto you, that likewise joy shall be in heaven over one sinner that repenteth, more than over ninety and nine just persons, which need no repentance.

Fanny Crosby 1801-9000

October 25, 2014

When Fanny Crosby was only six weeks old, she developed an eye infection. The regular doctor was away and a traveling doctor use mustard plaster on the baby’s eyes. Fanny was blind from that time.
One year later her father died leaving her mother to take care of Fanny and herself.
Fanny’s grandmother took care of her and taught her about the world around her, especially the Bible.
Fanny did not consider herself handicapped by her blindness. She memorized much of the Bible at a young age. Went on to become an instructor at the School for the blind in New York City and later married one of her students.
She started to write songs when she was in her forties. And wrote over 9000
hymns many which are still sung by congregations all over the world.
Her most famous hymn, “Blessed Assurance,” is a personal testimony of her salvation.
Her hymns have stood the test of time, still loved by believers today. Hymns such as “Saved by Grace,” “Draw Me Nearer,” “Safe in the Arms of Jesus,” “All the Way My Savior Leads Me,” “To God Be the Glory,” “Jesus, Keep Me Near the Cross,” and “I Am Thine, O Lord,” expressed Fanny’s deep devotion to her Savior.

Romans 8:28
And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.

Terrorist Attack

October 23, 2014

Another terrorist attack. This time on our friends and neighbors to the north, Canada. Our prayers go up for them as they struggle to find out what happened.
There are Christians in every nation and God’s Word is still true, He says His people must humble themselves and seek His face. Christian in whatever nation you are in, this is a call to prayer.
We cannot be found sleeping. Watch, pray and stand against the evil Jihadists not only in our country but around the world.

2 Chronicles 7:14
If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.

George Whitefield Quote

October 22, 2014

I believe I never was more acceptable to my Master than when I was standing to teach those hearers in the open fields? I now preach to ten times more people than I would if I had been confined to the churches.
Author: George Whitefield
God gives us the command to GO, not just go to church and think you have done your best to serve Him. There are many events in all areas that take place on a regular schedule that YOU could go and witness for Christ. Watch SOS training videos and then contact the office for more instructions on how to be a witness.

Mark 16:15
And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.
