Be Still!

July 17, 2026

Life has a way of pulling us in every direction. When problems arise, our first reaction is often to jump into action, trying to solve everything in our own strength. We worry, we plan, we stress, and sometimes we even forget to ask God what He wants us to do.

Yet God’s Word gives us a different response: “Be still.”

Being still doesn’t mean doing nothing. It means quieting our anxious hearts and placing our complete trust in the One who sees the beginning and the end. It means taking time to pray, to read His Word, and to listen for His gentle direction.

So many times, we make situations harder because we rush ahead of God’s timing. But when we wait on Him, we discover that He has already been working behind the scenes. He is opening doors we cannot open, changing hearts we cannot change, and carrying burdens that were never meant for us to bear.

If you are facing a difficult decision or carrying a heavy burden today, pause for a moment. Be still before the Lord. Trust that He is in control, even when you cannot see the outcome. His timing is always perfect, and His plans are always better than our own.

Today, take a few quiet moments to listen. You may be surprised by the peace that comes when you stop striving and simply rest in the presence of God.

Seek Peace!

July 13, 2026

Peace does not always come naturally. Differences of opinion, misunderstandings, hurt feelings, and even busy schedules can slowly build walls between people. Yet God’s Word does not tell us to wait for peace to come to us—it tells us to seek it and pursue it.

As Christians, we should make every effort to live in peace with one another. That means choosing forgiveness over bitterness, kindness over harsh words, and humility over pride. Sometimes we have to be the first to make a phone call, send a note, or simply say, “I’m sorry.” Peace is worth pursuing because it reflects the love of Christ.

This is especially important within our families. Home should be a place where grace is freely given and love is constantly shown. No family is perfect, but when we allow the Lord to guide our hearts, He can restore broken relationships and strengthen the bonds we share.

The same is true with our friends and fellow believers. The world is watching how Christians treat one another. When we walk in love, extend forgiveness, and strive for unity, we become a powerful testimony of God’s transforming grace.

Today, ask the Lord to search your heart. Is there someone with whom you need to make peace? Don’t wait. Pray for wisdom, take the first step, and trust God with the results.

May we be known as people who not only love the Lord but also seek peace and pursue it every day.

Perfect Peace

June 29, 2026

It is easy for our minds to become filled with worries about tomorrow, our families, our health, or the many responsibilities we carry. The more we focus on our circumstances, the more anxious we become. But God gives us a better place to fix our thoughts—on Him.

This verse does not promise a life without problems. It promises perfect peace for those whose minds are stayed on the Lord. When we trust His wisdom, rest in His promises, and remember that He is always in control, our hearts can remain calm even when life is uncertain.

Today, when anxious thoughts begin to crowd your mind, pause and turn your thoughts back to God. Spend time in His Word, thank Him for His faithfulness, and trust Him with every concern. The God who holds the universe in His hands is more than able to hold your heart in perfect peace.

Heavenly Father, help me keep my mind fixed on You today. When worries come, remind me to trust Your promises and rest in Your care. Thank You for the perfect peace that only You can give. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Jesus Has The Answer To Our Stress!

March 21, 2026

Do you feel overwhelmed and there is so much to do? No time to get it all done.

Jesus gave us the answer in Matthew 11:28. “ Come unto me“, He said.

Stop, take a few minutes to read His Word, pray and ask Him for wisdom, strength to calm to fill your mind and heart.

Peace will come over you and all things will be accomplished. Maybe some things will have to wait until later but you will have assurance that it is in His hands.

A Cure For Shot Nerves!

February 6, 2026

Thinking of something to encourage those who read this, I chose a book on hymns, “Then Sings My Soul” by Robert J. Morgan.
He wrote a forward “The Cure For Shot Nerves”. Thinking that is a catchy title, I read what he wrote about how the old hymns can calm the spirit and help bring peace to the soul.

It is rare in some churches to even hear the old hymns anymore and that is sad.
“In the Garden” He walks with me/ and He talks with me/ and tells me I am His own.
“Jesus Loves Me”, “Amazing Grace”, “I Need Thee Every Hour” and many more that encourage the heart.

Today, if you are stressed, feeling overwhelmed, or just plan discouraged, think of your favorite hymn and sing it, hum it or just let it flood your mind with how good God is, and soon you will find the comfort you need

Have A Peaceful Friday!

An Old Fashioned Sunday!

September 29, 2024
Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee. Isaiah 26:3

Sunday was a time for worship, family and quiet activities. Church was the priority. A special time to worship God. Almost everyone went to church.

No stores were open, it was a rare occasion when anyone went out to a restaurant to eat as most of them were closed.

No Sunday sports. No parties, and activities. It was a time when family got together. Usually a big dinner at home. Fellowship around the table where the children had opportunity to talk to parents about their experiences.

Then maybe a nap, board games, reading or quiet activity. Boring you might think. No. A time to put things into the proper order. A day of peacefulness.

In today’s society we are too busy. Church for many is not important. Parents run to do errands. Children have outside activities or the go to their room to get on social media.

We will never go back to those “old fashioned” Sundays, but let us take time for some of the things that made them special.

Worship the Lord first. Take time with your family. Put aside the busyness of work and pressure that causes stress. Make Sunday a day for memories with your family.

Have a blessed and peaceful day.

Have a Blessed Sunday! God Will Give You Peace.

If you live in Florida or one of the States that are in the path of a tropical storm, you will receive warnings of a disaster that is about to come. This may cause fear or anxiety.

But God tells us in this beautiful verse that He loves us and wants us to have peace. So, if you feel stressed today, take comfort from God’s word.

Make preparations to withstand the storm but trust God to bring you through whatever storm you have in your life.
