SOS Events summer intern teens working hard pulling weeds on the ministry’s property (top). Then taking a well deserved rest (with a little fun added). Electricity was out yesterday and it was very hot in Florida but these girls worked until the job was finished. They are learning many things working for SOS Events this summer. They are a blessing.
God even rested after He created the world. He gave us an example. Work and rest. Both important for a happy productive life.
Hebrews 4:4 For he spake in a certain place of the seventh day on this wise, And God did rest the seventh day from all his works.

No power, no internet, no coffee, no lights, no water (pump runs water from a well). Thankfully morning comes and we have light from the sun. We are so dependent on electricity for our lifestyle that without it we seem powerless to do anything.
As Christians we have a source of power that never goes out. Jesus is the light and the power in our lives to do everything we need to do. We can do all things through Jesus. He has promised us in His Word. Do not loose your power by neglecting to read the Bible and pray everyday. We can think the power has gone out but He is waiting for us to reconnect.

Ordinarily, the is no fear of storms. In Florida with hurricanes and other disasters a thunderstorm would not be fearful. But last night the loudest claps of thunder was so strong it actually shook the house and no one in this area could sleep.
Fear of fire from lightning and fallen trees from wind brought fear into my heart. Then with prayer and calming Bible verses sweet peace filled my heart knowing Jesus would calm the storm. Sleep during the rest of the storm. Praising the Lord this morning for His protection.

Sometimes things do not go as planned. That is exactly what happened when the Senior Servants with SOS Events came to work this month. When the newsletters ran out something was wrong. There were many pages of labels left and no more newsletters. Then one of the ladies noticed a duplicate name on a label.
What could we do? Some of the ladies offered to stay and put all the letters in alphabetical order, then go through a second time and compare to make sure to pull all duplicates. Those then had to be relabeled. It took several extra hours and all were found but 10. Thank you to all our Senior Servants. A special thanks to the ladies who could stay longer and help untangle the problem.
2 Thessalonians 1:3 We are bound to thank God always for you, brethren, as it is meet, because that your faith groweth exceedingly, and the charity of every one of you all toward each other aboundeth;

Today is SOS Events cofounder, Carolyn Curtis, 81st birthday. You can help her celebrate not with gifts but take a moment to pray for her. Wisdom, good health and strength are her personal needs, but her desire is to see SOS Events Ministry grow with more soul winners, more salvations and in territory. Also, that God will provide someone with a heart for souls and SOS Events Ministry when it is time for her to retire or go “home” to meet the Lord. She is thankful for her 2nd birthday. The day she accepted Jesus as her Savior over 60 years ago.
John 3:3 Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.

Sometimes our faith fails. Maybe through a trial in our lives, or we think God does not hear our prayers. Jesus told His disciples several times, “O ye of little faith”.
The wonderful thing that He also said in the verse above is that all we need is faith as small as a mustard seed.
How can we increase our faith? “So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.”
On SOS home page is a great Bible Study on Faith. It is lesson 10. That is a good lesson to help increase our faith.
