Seek Him First

We all have needs. Sometimes we need financial provision. Other times we need strength, wisdom, encouragement, or an answer to prayer.

Jesus tells us not to make those needs the first thing in our lives. Instead, He says, “seek ye first the kingdom of God.”

God already knows what we need. He knows what we need today, what we will need tomorrow, and even the needs we do not know are coming.

That does not mean He will give us everything we want, or that He will give us everything we need all at once. God provides at the right time and in the right way.

Sometimes we may wonder, Lord, why haven’t You answered yet? But while we are waiting, God is still working. His timing is perfect.

Our responsibility is to put Him first—to love Him, serve Him, trust Him, and seek to do His will. Then we can leave our needs in His hands.

God Supplies Our Needs

Many years ago, I made a faith promise to the Lord. I had promised to give a certain amount of money, but when the time came, I had no idea where that money was going to come from.

I prayed and trusted the Lord to provide.

One day, I pulled into the parking lot of a grocery store. When I got out of my car, there beside the wheel was a jar filled with money!

I immediately went into the store and told them that I had found some money in the parking lot. I left my information and told them that if anyone came looking for it, they could contact me. I would return it if the person could tell me the amount of money and describe the container it was in.

I waited about a week. No one ever called.

Then came the amazing part—the money in that jar was the exact amount I needed to fulfill my faith promise to the Lord.

Some may call that a coincidence. I call it an answer to prayer.

God knew the promise I had made. He knew I did not have the money to fulfill it. And He supplied exactly what I needed, right down to the amount.

Maybe you have a need today and you cannot see how it will be met. Pray. Trust God. His answer may come in a way you would never expect.

God is faithful. He knows our needs even before we ask, and He is able to provide.

“But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus.”
Philippians 4:19 KJV

God Draws People Who Need Salvation!

Another Friday evening of celebration after witnessing 12 salvations!!! What a beautiful sight and it is always so good to celebrate.

One Vietnam Vet said he has cancer and wasn’t given long to live and tonight he accepted Jesus as his personal Lord and Savior.It is always so amazing and giving God all of the glory!!!! ❤️❤️❤️

And I, if I be lifted up from the earth, will draw all men unto me. John 12:32

Pray for Our Government Leaders

Our nation needs prayer. Today, let us take time to pray for those who have been given the responsibility of leadership—at the federal, state, and local levels.

We may not always agree with the decisions our leaders make, but God’s Word tells us to pray for them. Pray for our President and those serving in Washington. Pray for our governors, state officials, judges, mayors, county commissioners, school boards, law enforcement, and all who serve in positions of authority.

Ask God to give them wisdom to make good decisions. Pray that they will seek truth, value what is right, protect our freedoms, and lead with integrity. Most importantly, pray that those who do not know Jesus Christ as their Savior will come to know Him.

It is easy to complain about government. It is much more powerful to pray.

1 Timothy 2:1-2 KJV

“I exhort therefore, that, first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks, be made for all men;
For kings, and for all that are in authority; that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty.”

Today, instead of focusing on what is wrong, let us faithfully pray for those who lead us. God hears and answers prayer.

God Is Greater Than Our Heart

Have you ever asked God to forgive you for something, yet you continue to bring that same sin back to Him? Sometimes the hardest person to forgive is ourselves.

We remember our failures. We think about what we should have done differently. Our heart condemns us, and we allow guilt from the past to steal the joy God wants us to have today.

But God’s Word gives us wonderful assurance: “God is greater than our heart.”

When we confess our sin and truly turn to the Lord, He forgives. We do not have to keep carrying what Jesus has already taken away.

The Bible tells us, “As far as the east is from the west, so far hath he removed our transgressions from us.” — Psalm 103:12

And Micah 7:19 tells us that God will “cast all their sins into the depths of the sea.”

What a wonderful picture of God’s mercy! Our forgiven sins do not need to be pulled back up and examined over and over again. God knows everything about us—the good, the bad, the failures, and the regrets—and He still loves us.

If your heart is reminding you today of something God has already forgiven, remember this: God is greater than your heart.

Accept His forgiveness. Leave the past with Him. Thank Him for His mercy, and move forward in the joy and freedom that Jesus Christ gives.

Thank You, Lord, for forgiveness that is greater than our failures.

Scott Dabill, Executive Director, SOS Events

 We are excited to officially welcome Scott Dabill as the Executive Director of SOS Events Ministry!

God has richly blessed this ministry through the years with faithful volunteers, team leaders, staff, and supporters who have a heart for reaching the lost with the Gospel. As SOS Events continues to grow and expand into new areas, we are thankful that the Lord has brought Scott to serve in this important leadership position.

Please pray for Scott as he begins this new responsibility. Pray that God will give him wisdom, strength, discernment, and a continued burden for souls. We look forward to seeing how the Lord will use his leadership to help SOS Events Ministry move forward and reach even more people for Jesus Christ.

Welcome, Scott! We are thankful to have you as part of SOS Events Ministry and are looking forward to what God has planned for the future.

Praise the Lord—He Answers Prayer

One of the greatest blessings in the Christian life is knowing that we have a God who hears us when we pray.

Sometimes His answer comes quickly, and sometimes we must wait. Sometimes He answers exactly the way we hoped, and other times His answer is different because He knows what is best. But we can always trust that God hears the prayers of His children.

Looking back, I can see so many times when the Lord has answered prayer—providing a need, giving strength during a difficult time, protecting someone I love, opening a door, or working in a situation that seemed impossible.

Today, I simply want to say, Praise the Lord! Thank You, Jesus, for hearing and answering prayer.

Whatever you are praying about today, keep praying and keep trusting. God is listening.

I love the LORD, because he hath heard my voice and my supplications.” — Psalm 116:1 KJV

New York News

August 13, 2026

The two SOS Events Ministry teams in New York have been busy sharing the Gospel! One team is led by Scott Dabill, and the other by Joe Russo.

Recently, the teams have ministered at the Niagara County Fair and another smaller event in Ransomville. What a blessing to know that through these events, 4 precious people accepted Jesus Christ as their Savior!

There were also many other opportunities to talk with people, share the Gospel, and plant seeds of God’s Word. We may not always see the results immediately, but God has promised that His Word will accomplish His purpose.

Please continue to pray for Scott, Joe, and all the faithful volunteers in New York as they take the Gospel wherever the Lord opens a door.

Praise the Lord for the four salvations and for every opportunity to tell someone about Jesus!

Blessing Of Family

This past weekend I had the wonderful blessing of spending time with some of my children and their spouses. What a joy it was to be together, sharing memories, laughing about days gone by, and simply enjoying one another’s company.

As I looked around at my family, my heart was filled with thankfulness. Through the years there have been many changes, but one of my greatest blessings is knowing that my children love and serve the Lord. There is no greater joy for a mother than to see her family walking with God.

Time with family is precious. We never know how many opportunities we will have to all be together, so these special times should never be taken for granted. I thank the Lord for each one of them and for the wonderful memories we made together this weekend.

“I have no greater joy than to hear that my children walk in truth.” — 3 John 1:4 KJV

Thank You, Lord, for the blessing of family and for children who walk in Your truth. What a joy!

God’s Word

Everything around us changes. People change, circumstances change, and our plans do not always work out the way we expect. But one thing will never change—the Word of God.

God’s Word never fades. It is just as powerful and true today as it was when it was written.

God’s Word never fails. Every promise God has made can be trusted. We may not always understand His timing or His ways, but He is always faithful.

God’s Word never falters. When we are discouraged, confused, afraid, or uncertain, we can turn to the Bible and find truth that will steady our hearts and guide our steps.

Jesus said:

“Heaven and earth shall pass away, but my words shall not pass away.”
Matthew 24:35 KJV

What a wonderful assurance! The world around us may be uncertain, but we have a firm foundation in God’s Word. Read it. Believe it. Trust it. Live by it.

God’s Word never fades, never fails, and never falters.
