Be Thankful for Bad Things

November 20, 2017

Can we be thankful for the bad things in life? Maybe we don’t feel thankful, but God tells us to be thankful in all things. Tell Him you are thankful not because of feelings but because of obedience. Eventually, after a period of time you will be able to thank Him in your heart and remember the precious memories of the good things God has given you. (This is my experience after the death of 2 beloved sons)

1 Thessalonians 5:18

In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.

Ephesians 4:32

Be Thankful

November 5, 2017

We should be thankful for all our blessings everyday not just on Thanksgiving. Today look around and be thankful for the little things God does for us everyday.

Ephesians 5:20 Giving thanks always for all things unto God and the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ;

Irma Update

September 13, 2017

Thank you to everyone who prayed for SOS Events Ministry during the hurricane Irma. God spared our property from a direct hit and there was no damage to the buildings. Electricity was restored late yesterday, but still no internet and phone service is spotty, so communication and regular office work cannot be continued as usual. There is a lot of debris on the property that needs to be cleaned up (volunteers would be appreciated). Prayers were answered and the Lord gave us safety. There was no loss of life and all SOS Events staff and volunteers came thought safely. Praise the Lord for His grace and protection. Hopefully by next week everything will be back to normal and witnessing, Bible Studies to new Christians and the office will be up and running.

Psalms 52:9,  I will praise thee for ever, because thou hast done it: and I will wait on thy name; for it is good before thy saints.

Give Thanks for Freedom

July 2, 2017

Sunday, the Lord’s Day and in America we have the freedom to go to the church of our choice. We are blessed. Our Country’s leaders gave us the freedom to worship as we please. As we worship today let us give thanks for our freedom to worship whenever and wherever we wish. God wants us to worship Him with our whole heart.

Psalms 35:18 I will give thee thanks in the great congregation: I will praise thee among much people.

Mercy and Grace

October 17, 2016

So thankful for God’s mercy and grace. One of the Curtis grandsons fell asleep while driving. His truck rolled over and barely missed a telephone pole. The truck was totaled but he was not hurt except for a few minor cuts and bruises. We realize that life is short and we never know what the day will bring. The important thing no matter what our age is to be ready if the Lord calls us home.

Ephesians 2:4-5 But God, who is rich in mercy, for his great love wherewith he loved us, Even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ, (by grace ye are saved;)

Friends

November 25, 2015

Thank the Lord for your friends. Some people think they have few friends, some have many friends.

A friend is someone who loves you in any circumstance. They laugh with you when you are happy and cry with you when you are sad, they accept you with all your faults and if you disagree they will come to an agreement even if it is to disagree agreeably. Sometimes a friend will disappoint you but they are still there for you when you need them.

There is one true friend that is always with you and that is Jesus. For the Christian He is the closest friend you will ever have and he never disappoints you. He listens to every prayer and has the power to answer. He comforts when you are hurting or sick. He is with you in your joys and in your sorrow. 24/7 He is there.

We are thankful for our friends here on earth but most thankful for Jesus who is ever present in our lives.

Proverbs 17:17 A friend loveth at all times,

Hebrews 13:5  Let your conversation be without covetousness; and be content with such things as ye have: for he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee.
