“CHOOSE THE BREAD OF LIFE OR YOU ARE TOAST”

John 6:35 And Jesus said unto them, I am the bread of life: he that cometh to me shall never hunger; and he that believeth on me shall never thirst.

What If ?

August 9, 2018

What if, just for one hour, one day, one week Jesus took your place in your schedule and walked in your shoes? What if you were not given notice in order to make adjustments for a more perfect schedule? What if Jesus went to the places you go to and spoke to the people you acquaint yourself with using the language you use? What if Jesus greeted your family in the same tone you greet them after coming home from a days work?

What if?

I hope He would be pleased with who you are and you would not be bothered by letting Him trade places with you.

We know this would never happen because Jesus cannot sin. However, What if Jesus walked in our path with His heart? Would people see a difference?

Ephesians 4:23-24      King James Version (KJV)

23 And be renewed in the spirit of your mind;

24 And that ye put on the new man, which after God is created in righteousness and true holiness.

Preparing for Easter

March 23, 2018

Easter is a little over a week away and many are getting ready. The stores are full of candy, clothes and decorations for the Easter celebrations but very little if any have anything pointing to the true meaning of Easter. The death, burial and resurrection of The Lord and Savior, Jesus. As we prepare for time with family and friends for Easter, let us remember the true reason why we celebrate. Jesus resurrection is proof that there is life after death and we can be sure of eternal life if we accept Jesus as our Savior.

2 Timothy 1:10 But is now made manifest by the appearing of our Saviour Jesus Christ, who hath abolished death, and hath brought life and immortality to light through the gospel:

Spring is Here!

March 20, 2018

The calendar says it is the first day of spring. Many of us have been waiting for it because winter has been hard. In northern areas it may not feel like spring yet, snow, ice and cold is still around and the forecast is calling for more. But, we look forward to spring and rejoice when the first flower comes up out of the soil. Christian life is like that. Sometimes life is hard and there seems no end in sight, but we can look to Jesus. He is the One who brings joy into our lives.

Psalms 32:11 Be glad in the Lord, and rejoice, ye righteous: and shout for joy, all ye that are upright in heart.

People Watching

December 5, 2017

Do you like to watch people. Some are tall, others short, some thin others heavy. We see the mothers with small children to the elderly which have a hard time getting around. People of all colors, from the very fair skin to the darkest golden brown. Some dress in expensive clothing while others are tattered, and some wear hardly any clothes at all. What a variety of people on the earth and God gave life to them all. However, that He gave them life at birth does not mean they will live with Him in Heaven for all eternity. To get to Heaven no matter what their status on earth they (and you) must be born again.

John 3:3 Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.

Be Thankful for Bad Things

November 20, 2017

Can we be thankful for the bad things in life? Maybe we don’t feel thankful, but God tells us to be thankful in all things. Tell Him you are thankful not because of feelings but because of obedience. Eventually, after a period of time you will be able to thank Him in your heart and remember the precious memories of the good things God has given you. (This is my experience after the death of 2 beloved sons)

1 Thessalonians 5:18

In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.

Christian Life

October 11, 2017

How do you keep going for the Lord after many years? This question was asked Carolyn Curtis (co-founder of SOS Events Ministry) at a Missions Conference recently. Her answer, “Guidance of the Holy Spirit, daily Bible reading and prayer and Godly habits,” we cannot be consistent in the Christian life without all three.

Romans 15:13 Now the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that ye may abound in hope, through the power of the Holy Ghost.

2 Timothy 3:16 All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:

Titus 2:12 Teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly, in this present world;

Trying to Loose Weight?

August 30, 2017

Many of us are trying to loose weight. We diet, exercise, and try to stay away from food that will keep us from our goal. The Bible says we have weight that we need to get rid of and it is called sin. We need to decide to loose the “weight” of sin in our lives. Jesus said He is the bread of life. We must first trust Him to take away our sin. Then a good exercise is to read the Bible and pray everyday. Then put away anything that will keep sin in our lives. It may be wrong friends, or a bad habit, or going to places where we are tempted to pick up our sin again. Let us loose the weight we need to both physical and spiritual.

John 6:48  I am that bread of life. Hebrews 12:1 Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us,

Life and Death

August 10, 2017

In the way of righteousness is life; and in the path thereof there is no death.

Romans 6:23 For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.
