Testimony

August 26, 2015

Everyone who works with SOS Events Ministry gives us their testimony in writing.

One young man told us he didn’t have a testimony. We ask him if he was saved, was he born again?

He said yes he was saved and he knew for sure he was on his way to heaven.

This is his story:

One Sunday he was walking by a church and heard music. He had been thinking about some of the things that he had done that he was sorry for and he felt guilty in his heart. He decided to go in the church to find out if he could be forgiven.

An usher was standing inside the door and asked the young man if he could help him.

“Yes, the young man said, I need to be forgiven.”

The usher took the young man into a little room where he explained the plan of salvation and the young man was wonderfully saved.

No testimony? That is one of the greatest testimonies that we have heard.

Do you have a testimony you would like to share with others? We would love to hear it. Send us an email and we may post it or put it in our monthly newsletter. Info@sosevents.org.

Trust

August 12, 2015

While sitting in an airport waiting to board a plane, the thoughts go to trust. We trust that the plane will get us to our destination safely.

SOS Events “3  Things God Can Not Do” tract gives a choice of which plane we would get on. Three planes, one is 50%, one is 75% or the third is 100% sure we will get to our destination, which would you choose?

Going to heaven is a choice, also. If you are not 100% sure you are going to Heaven go to the home page scroll down and follow the directions.

It is a matter of trust. Trusting the Lord Jesus to save you is the answer.

Psalms 37:40 And the Lord shall help them, and deliver them: he shall deliver them from the wicked, and save them, because they trust in him.

Salvation Blessing

August 7, 2015

This week SOS Events had a special blessing. One of the Bible tracts that have the “3 Things God Can Not Do” was sent to the office from a woman who got saved reading it.

On the back of the tract is a little box for a person to make a check mark and beside the box it says I promise God to read this.  When a person is too busy to talk or is not ready to receive Christ many times when witnessing one of our workers will say, “Will you promise God you will read this? Check the box.”

When this particular tract came to the office the box was checked and the date of salvation was filled in. Which is another space on the tract. When that space is filled out SOS Events sends Bible studies, some helpful information to start that person on her new life.

What a joy to know that just handing a person a Bible tract will result in salvation. Tracts work. Do you hand out tracts?  It is so easy to smile at someone and say, “I have something I would like to give you.” Hand them the tract and be on your way.

Ephesians 6:17 And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God:

Salvation Army Salvation

July 31, 2015

Tom had a dentist appointment this week and on the way home there is a large Salvation Army store. The location of this particular store is not near Tom’s home, and it is rare that he gets to that area of Tampa.

Tom thought this would be a good opportunity to speak to the store manager about SOS Events ministry.

While waiting to speak to him, Tom was told that it’s a good thing he came today because the manager was being married on the weekend and would be gone on his honeymoon for  the next two weeks.

When this nice looking young manager came over, the first thing Tom did was to congratulate him on is coming marriage. Then he explained how at SOS Events we use the “3 things God cannot do.” When he got to the question, “Are you 50, 75 or 100% sure you are going to heaven when you die?”

The young man said, “I would say 50%.”

Tom was surprised thinking that someone who worked for the Salvation Army  would be saved. However, he continued asking the young man if he would like to know for sure he was going to Heaven.

When the answer was yes, Tom lead the young manager to Christ right in the aisle of the store.

After some rejoicing and more congratulations the manager went back to his work and Tom went home. Tom witnesses wherever he can, even with a swollen lip from several injections of Novacaine.

If every Christian would take each opportunity the Lord gives, hundreds if not thousands of people would come to know Jesus. People need the Lord and many times are just waiting for someone to tell them.

2 Timothy 4:2 Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all longsuffering and doctrine.

Testimony and Invitation

July 21, 2015

When I was 12 years old, the pastor came to our house to ask if I would be baptized with my sister and cousin as they didn’t want to do that without me. He asked me if I ever asked Jesus in my heart and I told him no, but I would be baptized so my sister and cousin would. The pastor told me to come down the isle Sunday and someone would pray with me then they would schedule the baptism. SO I did, and I prayed only to do what I needed to do so my sister and cousin would be baptized. Years later, I questioned my salvation because it wasn’t of my own will that sought Jesus but out of duty. I did not come to Jesus until I was 18. Yes, I can give you dates, times and places but I do know that the first time I prayed was not real, it was not me seeking Jesus but the approval to get baptized. Diana

If you are not 100% sure when you die you would go to heaven, you need to make sure of yourself salvation.

You must admit you are a sinner. Romans 3:23 For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;

Believe that Jesus died on the cross, was buried, and rose again. Romans 10:9 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.

Then call upon the name of the Lord. Romans 10:13 For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.

Lord Jesus, I admit I am a sinner. I believe you died on the cross for forgiveness of my sins. I ask that you forgive my sins, come into my heart and make my life new. I receive you as my Savior. Thank you Jesus. Amen

Thank you in advance and may the Lord richly bless you.

JESUS is the Answer

June 27, 2015

It is hard to stay positive with all the news that is swirling around us. Killing all over the world, wars, rumors of wars, crazy weather patterns, decisions from courts that are not biblical, good is called evil and evil is called good.

The Bible tells us that this will happen and we are seeing it now. The solution for the individual: turn to the only true answer for peace of mind and heart JESUS. JESUS is the answer.

If you do not have Him as your personal Savior go to the home page and scroll down to the “3 Things God Can Not Do” follow all the instructions through the ABC’s and go to the prayer, sincerely ask forgiveness and repent of all your sins. Jesus will become your Savior and walk with you from that moment on.

If you do that we request that you then fill out the decision card and SOS Events will sent you free Bible studies so you can begin your new life with Christ.

Romans 10:9 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved

Life is a Vapour

June 12, 2015

The Bible says, “Life is a vapour”. James 4:14 Whereas ye know not what shall be on the morrow. For what is your life? It is even a vapour, that appeareth for a little time, and then vanisheth away.

This week we learned of a friend and family member who died of a heart attack while stopped at a traffic light. He was a man in his early 50’s who thankfully had made a profession of faith in the Lord Jesus Christ several years ago and followed Him in baptism in a local church.

Most people think that they have plenty of time to accept Christ and the devil has them fooled into thinking that they can put it off until tomorrow. For them tomorrow may never come.

I am sure when Walt left his house in the morning he never expected to be gone in a few minutes later.

If you are thinking you have plenty of time to make a decision to accept JESUS as your Savior, please stop now and reconsider. You may not have another chance.

It is simple and JESUS is waiting to hear you confess your sin, repent and ask His forgiveness. He loves you, paid for you sins by dying on the cross and is waiting to hear your prayer.

You can pray something like this if you don’t know what to say,

Lord Jesus, I admit I have sinned, I believe you died on the cross for forgiveness of my sins, I ask that you forgive me and come into my heart and life and change me and make my life new. I invite you to be my Savior and I will follow you for the rest of my life. In JESUS name. Amen.

Wednesday Record

June 11, 2015

Many people are happy to see Wednesday come each week because it is the middle of the workweek for people who work. At SOS Events we love to see Wednesday come because it is an opportunity to win souls at the Plant City Flea Market.

This week was exceptional as 25 decisions were recorded. Randy Thomas is pictured here with Maria one of the Spanish people who received JESUS as their Savior.

John 1:12 But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name:

Opportunities

June 6, 2015

Leslie, a home health nurse, came to the Curtis house to change the bandages on Tom’s ankle. As with all the others who have come she heard the gospel and she gladly accepted JESUS as her Saviour.

What an opportunity Tom has had to witness everyday to a different person. We are so thankful that his wound is healing and hopefully he will be able to get back to his regular activities soon. In the meantime he will take advantage of all the opportunities that God gives him to tell others about the Lord.

Please continue to pray for his complete healing and also for the five people who have been saved though this trial.

Galatians 6:10 As we have therefore opportunity, let us do good unto all men, especially unto them who are of the household of faith.
