God Can Use Even a Sign on a Car

September 4, 2026

Sometimes we never know how God will use the little things we do to reach someone with the Gospel.

Stephanie, Tom’s daughter was driving along one day when her phone rang. She didn’t recognize the number, so she didn’t answer.

A few moments later, it rang again. Again, she didn’t answer.

Then it rang a third time. Finally, she decided she had better answer.

On the other end of the phone was a man named Mario. He had seen the sign on the back of her car that asked:

“Do you know the 3 things God cannot do?”

Her phone number was on the sign, so Mario called because he wanted to know the answer.

She explained:

God cannot lie.
God cannot change.
God cannot let anyone into Heaven unless they are born again.

Then she shared the simple plan of salvation with him:

A — All have sinned.
“For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;” — Romans 3:23

B — Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ.
“Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved…” — Acts 16:31

C — Call upon the name of the Lord.
“For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.” — Romans 10:13

That day, Mario accepted Jesus Christ as his Savior!

Think about that. A man saw a sign on the back of a car, made a phone call, heard the Gospel, and trusted Jesus as his Savior.

We may never know how God will use a sign, a Gospel tract, a conversation, an invitation, or even something as simple as driving down the road.

Our responsibility is to make the Gospel available. God will bring the people who need to hear it.

“So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.”
Romans 10:17 KJV

What a wonderful reminder to always be ready to share Jesus. You never know who may be looking for the answer—and God may use you to give it to them.

Six Precious Souls Saved in Pennsylvania

August 17, 2026

What a blessing to hear good news from Limerick, Pennsylvania! Last Saturday, six people accepted Jesus Christ as their Savior.

We are so thankful for Donna and Brian Gottshall and their faithfulness in sharing the Gospel through SOS Events Ministry. Every person who trusts Christ is precious, and we rejoice that six more souls now know the wonderful gift of salvation.

God continues to use faithful volunteers who are willing to go, share His Word, and tell others how they can know for sure they are going to Heaven. Praise the Lord for these six decisions and for another opportunity to see the Gospel change lives!

Please continue to pray for Donna and Brian and the SOS Events teams in Pennsylvania as they faithfully share the Good News of Jesus Christ.

New York News

August 13, 2026

The two SOS Events Ministry teams in New York have been busy sharing the Gospel! One team is led by Scott Dabill, and the other by Joe Russo.

Recently, the teams have ministered at the Niagara County Fair and another smaller event in Ransomville. What a blessing to know that through these events, 4 precious people accepted Jesus Christ as their Savior!

There were also many other opportunities to talk with people, share the Gospel, and plant seeds of God’s Word. We may not always see the results immediately, but God has promised that His Word will accomplish His purpose.

Please continue to pray for Scott, Joe, and all the faithful volunteers in New York as they take the Gospel wherever the Lord opens a door.

Praise the Lord for the four salvations and for every opportunity to tell someone about Jesus!

So then neither is he that planteth any thing, neither he that watereth; but God that giveth the increase.” — 1 Corinthians 3:7 KJV

This faithful SOS Events team, led by Ronnie and Connie Burlison, is one of two SOS Events teams serving throughout Alabama. Based in the Montgomery area, they continue to faithfully share the Gospel wherever God opens doors.

One Life-Changing Tip

August 3, 2026

If you had to give one life-changing tip, what would it be?

If someone asked me to share just one life-changing tip, my answer would be simple:

Trust Jesus Christ as your Savior.

There are many good pieces of advice in life. Work hard. Be kind. Save for the future. Forgive others. All of these are valuable. But none of them can compare to knowing Jesus Christ personally.

The greatest decision anyone will ever make is to place their faith in the Lord Jesus Christ. He came to this earth, died on the cross for our sins, was buried, and rose again the third day. He offers forgiveness, peace, purpose, and the promise of eternal life to all who believe in Him.

Life will still have its trials, disappointments, and heartaches, but when Christ is your Savior, you never face them alone. He walks with you, strengthens you, and gives you a hope that this world can never offer.

If I could leave just one tip with every person I meet, it would be this:

Don’t wait another day. Trust Jesus Christ as your Savior. It is the one decision that changes not only this life, but eternity.

“Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved…” — Acts 16:31 (KJV)

May the Lord use this simple message to encourage believers and point those who do not yet know Him to the Savior.

Small Beginnings, Eternal Results

July 14, 2026

This past Saturday, the Western New York SOS Events Ministry team, led by Scott, had the privilege of sharing the Gospel at an event held at a local church in Ransomville, New York.

One special blessing was seeing Scott’s 16-year-old daughter faithfully volunteering alongside the team. It is always encouraging to watch young people step forward to serve the Lord. They are not only helping today—they are learning to become tomorrow’s faithful servants.

God blessed the outreach with one woman trusted Jesus as her Savior and a young man listened and will make that decision later.

While some may look at the number and think it is small, Heaven rejoices over every soul that comes to Christ. Those two decisions represent two lives changed for eternity.

We are so thankful for Scott, his family, and every volunteer who faithfully gives of their time to Serve Our Savior. Every conversation, every smile, every Gospel tract, and every prayer is used by God in ways we may never fully know this side of Heaven.

“And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not.”
— Galatians 6:9 (KJV)

Wednesday Flea Market

June 11, 2026

What a blessing we experienced this Wednesday at the Plant City Farm & Flea Market in Plant City, Florida! As hundreds of people walked through the market looking for bargains and produce, God was at work doing something far more important—changing lives for eternity.

Our faithful SOS Events volunteers had the privilege of sharing the Gospel with many people throughout the day. We rejoice that 9 people trusted Jesus as their Savior.

What a reminder that every event, every conversation, and every Gospel tract can make an eternal difference.

The Plant City flea market has long been a gathering place for people from all walks of life, especially on Wednesdays when the market is bustling with vendors and visitors.   Yet the greatest treasure found there this week was not something purchased—it was the gift of eternal life received through faith in Christ.

Please continue to pray for these new believers as they begin their spiritual journey. Pray also for our volunteers who faithfully return week after week to share the Good News. The harvest is still plentiful, and we are grateful for every opportunity God gives us to reach others.

Nine salvations mean that heaven rejoiced nine times on Wednesday! To God be the glory.

“I say unto you, that likewise joy shall be in heaven over one sinner that repenteth, more than over ninety and nine just persons, which need no repentance.” Luke 15:7

I Have 2 Birthdays!

June 1, 2026

Today is my birthday, and I am thankful for every year that God has given me. Birthdays are special because they remind us of the gift of life. But as I reflect on this day, I am reminded of a birthday that is even more important than the day I was physically born.

In 1960, I experienced my “second birthday” when I trusted Jesus Christ as my Savior and was born again. That decision changed not only my life on earth but also my eternity. Physical birth gave me life in this world, but spiritual birth gave me eternal life through Jesus Christ.

When Jesus spoke to Nicodemus, He made it clear that being born again is not optional. He said:

“Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.” (John 3:3 KJV)

Over the years, God has blessed me with family, friends, opportunities to serve, and the privilege of sharing the Gospel through SOS Events. There have been joys and sorrows, victories and challenges, but through it all, the Lord has remained faithful.

As Carolyn Curtis celebrates another birthday today, my greatest reason for rejoicing is not my age or the number of years behind me. It is the wonderful truth that in 1960 I became a child of God. That was the day my eternal life began.

If you know the date of your second birthday, thank God for it today. If you have never been born again, there is no better time than now to trust Christ as your Savior.

The best birthday anyone can celebrate is the day they were born into God’s family.
