Thankful for Family

November 21, 2016

Family is a great blessing! Large or small our family is something to be thankful for. We are especially blessed if our family are Christians. Then not only do we have earthly ties but we have spiritual bonding as well.

If your family or some of the members are not Christians there are still wonderful things we can be thankful for in our relationships to each of them. Think of a good quality in that person. Maybe they have a great sense of humor or are a good example in one area. I think of my alcoholic grandfather, he always tried to help me with problems. My mother who taught me how to be hospitable even if there was not much money or provisions. Be thankful and if they are still living and pray for them. My parents were saved shortly before their deaths after 30 years of prayer. Remember God is faithful and wants that loved one to be saved or restored back to fellowship if they are backslidden.

Ephesians 1:16 Cease not to give thanks for you, making mention of you in my prayers;

Pray for Our Leaders

November 10, 2016

We need unity and peace. The media has helped to create discord in our country. Christians, instead of watching the chaos take that time to pray for our leaders that they will be calm and seek Godly council. Now is the time for the USA to unite as one nation under God.

1 Timothy 2:8 I will therefore that men pray every where, lifting up holy hands, without wrath and doubting.

Prayer-First or Last?

Prayer should be your first choice… not a last resort.

1 Thessalonians 5:17 Pray without ceasing.

Prayer Request

October 15, 2016

Today there are two events in the Florida area. Rattle Snake Festival in San Antonio and Classic Car Show in Lakeland. Both are new events for SOS Events so we covet your prayers. Waking up to a light rain is not encouraging but God can move the rain away before the events start.

Please pray for souls to be saved and that the events will not be cancelled. If you have followed this blog you know that two of the big events were cancelled last weekend due to rain. God still blessed and as we look at what He has done in the past we know He once again will bless our efforts.

Jeremiah 33:3 Call unto me, and I will answer thee, and shew thee great and mighty things, which thou knowest not.

Answered Prayer

October 6, 2016

God answers prayer. Yesterday at the Plant City Flea Market things were slow. By 10:00 o’clock not one person had been saved and the crowd was sparse. In the morning we had asked for prayer from you who read the blog and I prayed specifically that God would bless us with 3 or more souls.

God is faithful and when Alice got back to the office she reported that 4 people were saved. Praise the Lord for answered prayer and for the people who were saved. Alice is in the center with 2 of the girls who made decisions.

2 Peter 3:9 The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.

Pray for Police Officers

September 24, 2016

We rarely post something from Face Book on the SOS Blog, but  police officers are in danger everyday for doing their job, protecting us. Please pray for this officer and all the police personel as they daily put their lives on the line to keep us safe.

“I’d like to introduce myself. My name is Brandon McNeal I’m a police officer. I am asking that you will pray for me and each and every other officer around the world. We are under attack and we need the prayers of all God’s saints! Will you SHARE THIS and remind people to pray for us? “-Officer Brandon McNeal.

Pray for America

September 11, 2016

Remembering 9/11/01 today, 15 years later. Right after that terrible day for all Americans, our churches were full, people prayed and ask God for help and safety and now, sadly, we as a nation have forgotten and turned back to complacency and prayerlessness. We need to turn back to God and become a “Christian” Nation again as our founding fathers intended. The Constitution says, “Freedom of religion” not freedom from religion. Pray for the USA.

2 Chronicles 7:14 If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.

Praise and Prayer

September 8, 2016

Praise God for the 16 decisions for Christ during the month of September, for the over 40 newly locally trained SOS volunteers in Alabama. SOS Events Alabama team led by Dale and Dorothy Brown and Patty Mills do a wonderful job all year to bring souls to Christ and train new soul winners.

Your prayers are vital in helping us fight the attacks of the evil one as he seeks to do what he does best: “steal, kill and destroy.” As the ministry rolls into what promises to be the busiest season of the year, will you please commit to join with SOS Events Ministry in prayer, specifically for complete and total surrender to God’s will and for His protection? There is a spiritual battle being waged but make no mistake – we know Christ is the victor!

1 Corinthians 15:57 But thanks be to God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.
