Rejoicing on Wednesday

April 5, 2018

Richard, a faithful SOS Events soul winner, is rejoicing with this young mother, one of the 15 people that were saved at the Plant City Flea Market yesterday. What a blessing to see hundreds of people come to the Lord every year at this weekly event. Praise the Lord for our faithful soul winners and people who have been saved at this event that is held every Wednesday.

Philippians 2:16 Holding forth the word of life; that I may rejoice in the day of Christ, that I have not run in vain, neither laboured in vain.

God’s Handiwork

April 4, 2018

Today, look around you at God’s handiwork. Find something in His creation that you can Praise the Lord for, even if you feel depressed or sad. There was a time when I did not feel like getting out of bed because of the death of a son, but I would find one or more things that God created that I could thank Him for and everyday it got a little bit better, until finally I could Praise Him for everything. We have an awesome God that loves and cares for us.

Spring Break

April 3, 2018

This is the time of year when students, teachers, businesses and others have “Spring Break”. People go about getting away from their regular routine to have fun, vacation and relax. Everyone needs to take time out for some relaxation or we get burned out. There is Someone who never stops taking care of us, He is always “on the job” Aren’t you glad that God never sleeps or takes a vacation from us. If you are taking a break, now or later, remember to keep in touch with Him. Do not get away from God. Continue to pray and read your Bible even if you are on Spring Break.

Psalms 121:3 He will not suffer thy foot to be moved: he that keepeth thee will not slumber.

Many Salvations

April 2, 2018

Reports are starting to come in to the SOS Events office of Salvations from Events this past weekend. 7 decisions from a Churchyard event in Highland City, Fl. Workers from community event in Dade City, Fl reported 22 Salvations. More reports will be coming in in the next few days as many churches had Easter Egg hunts and other activities over the weekend. Praise the Lord for all these decisions, we are His workers, it is Him that draws them and changes the heart.

Psalms 51:10 Create in me a clean heart, O God; and renew a right spirit within me.

Pray for Power to Win Souls

March 31, 2018

While many people have started their Easter weekend celebrations today, there are some faithful SOS Events volunteers who are going to events to witness for the Lord Jesus. If you are busy with your own Easter preparations, please take time to pray for them and also that many souls will be saved today. Tomorrow many people will go to church that never go any other time of year. Pray for your Pastor and those who are witnesses to have power and that souls will be saved.

Acts 1:8 But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.

STOP

March 30, 2018

Many of us will be busy preparing for a busy Easter weekend. Passover also starts this evening at sundown. This is the most “Holy”of all times of the year for Christians and Jews. However, unfortunately many will just look at it as a holiday to enjoy with family and friends, or maybe a weekend to get away from our everyday life. Never stopping to reflect on the true meaning of why we celebrate. Jesus Died, was Buried and Rose again. Today, Good Friday, as it is called, let us STOP and think of the suffering that JESUS endured on the cross to pay for our sins. All His pain and agony was for us. He deserves time to give Him all our praise and worship.

Matthew 16:21 From that time forth began Jesus to shew unto his disciples, how that he must go unto Jerusalem, and suffer many things of the elders and chief priests and scribes, and be killed, and be raised again the third day.

A Favorite Easter Hymn

March 29, 2018

During the Easter season of 1874, while having his devotions one evening, Robert Lowry was impressed with the events associated with Christ’s resurrection, especially with these words recorded in Luke 24:6, 7—He is not here, but is risen.

Soon Robert Lowry found himself seated at the little pump organ in the parlor of his home. And in a very spontaneous fashion, the words and music of “Christ Arose” gave expression to the thoughts that had been uppermost in his mind.

The hymn was published the following year and has been an inspirational favorite with God’s people ever since.

Christ Arose

(1) Low in the grave He lay,

Jesus, my Savior!

Waiting the coming day,

Jesus, my Lord!

CHO: Up from the grave He arose,

With a mighty triumph o’er His foes;

He arose a victor from the dark domain,

And He lives forever with His saints to reign;

He arose! He arose!

Hallelujah! Christ arose!

(2) Vainly they watched His bed,

Jesus, my Savior!

Vainly they sealed the dead,

Jesus my Lord!

(3) Death could not keep his prey,

Jesus my Savior!

He tore the bars away,

Jesus, my Lord!

Wednesday or Friday

March 28, 2018

The Bible says that Jesus was 3 days and 3 nights in the tomb before His resurrection. Biblical Scholars have different opinions of when He died. Some think Wednesday and others say Friday because time was calculated differently than our calendar today. Whenever you believe Jesus died, is not as important as you knowing and believing that Jesus died, was buried and rose again so that you might be saved. As Christians we can have different opinions about the times but we must agree to disagree “agreeably” and love one another.

Romans 10:9 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.
