Proverbs 31:28 Her children arise up, and call her blessed;
One of God’s greatest blessings is children. If God has blessed you with one or several, He has given you one of the greatest gifts. Along with it comes love and responsibility. Children are a joy and at the same time can cause sorrow. Pray for your children. Thank the Lord for them. Today, the temptations of the world are used by the devil to draw our precious children away from the Lord. We must be diligent in our care for them. Give them an extra hug today and if they are far away send them a message of love.
Psalms 127:3 Lo, children are an heritage of the Lord: and the fruit of the womb is his reward.
Yesterday we saw what a baby Christian is like. Today let us see what a Christian is like who is saved and has grown a little but has not yet matured. Children can be sweet, obedient, full of questions and like to learn new things. However, they are selfish, willful and sometimes disobedient. Young Christians have some of the same traits. If you are a young Christian, learn how to grow. Develop good habits. Go to a good Bible believing church, study the Bible daily, pray and fellowship with mature Christians. Also, learn to be a witness and tell friends and family about your faith in Jesus. Get rid of old things that would cause you to fall into sin. No matter what your physical age is, your spiritual age is the most important.
Corinthians 13:11 When I was a child, I spake as a child, I understood as a child, I thought as a child: but when I became a man, I put away childish things.
If we have children and grandchildren we are abundantly blessed. God tells us that they are our heritage. Sometimes they make us so happy and other times they hurt and disappoint, but God has given us the most wonderful gift and also with that responsibility. If you have children in your life the first thing you need to do is be a Christlike example. Love them unconditionally. Then pray for them and pray for them (duplicate on purpose). The devil is a roaring lion waiting to devour them.
Psalms 127:3 Lo, children are an heritage of the Lord: and the fruit of the womb is his reward.
What do you do with Santa? You can’t ignore him because he is pictured everywhere. Your children will see and hear about him. Other children will be excited and talk about him.
Do you really want your children to find out you did not tell them the truth?
In our home, having a large family, we did talk about Santa this way;
Santa is pretend. A fairy tale like Cinderella or Snow White. Fun to think about but they are not real.
They were allowed to sit on Santa’s lap and have their picture taken but they knew that he was just a man pretending to be Santa.
The gifts they receive come from Daddy and Mommy because God gives blessings of being able to work.
We had fun with our children and played make believe with them about Santa but always told them the real meaning of Christmas is because it is Jesus birthday.
The manger scene was always in a prominent place in our home. (Still is)
We celebrated His birthday with a cake. Also, taught the true joy is in giving not receiving.
Did this hurt our children? No. They really enjoyed Christmas but never had the pain of finding out that Santa is not real and that their parents had not told the truth.
We always told them not to tell their friends because their Mom or Dad must tell them when it is time for them to know.
Have fun with your children this Christmas. Make some memories that are uniquely yours.
John 8:32 And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.
(You May think this looks familiar and it will be. Christmas blogs are repeated from previous years and still worth repeating.)

One of the blessings of being in the same event year after year is the people who stop by the booth to give a testimony of the blessing they received from SOS Events in years passed. Yesterday, a woman stopped by the booth at Strawberry Festival to thank the workers and said her daughter had gotten saved last year. She told the worker how happy she is to know her daughter will be with her in Heaven. She will bring her son to the booth in the future when he is a little older so he will understand how to be saved. Soul winning at events has a lasting effect on people. We Praise the Lord for giving us the opportunity to witness at events.
Matthew 19:14 But Jesus said, Suffer little children, and forbid them not, to come unto me: for of such is the kingdom of heaven.

Yesterday I had the privilege of attending my daughter, Graceanne’s, Sunday School class that she teaches. What a blessing to see and hear one of our children, as an adult following the Lord. Graceanne spoke about the Bible and how to study and grow closer to the Lord through daily reading and meditating on the Bible.
Training children is not an easy task. It requires wisdom, consistency, prayer and patience. In our family daily devotions together was required from the time they were born. Regular church attendance and a good Christian school were all part of successful child rearing. A home where parents were united in love, discipline and good times were also part of our home when the children were growing up. Also, the willingness to admit when we are wrong goes a long way to build trust in your children.
If you are a young parent do not be discouraged. Look at your children not as they are but what they will become when the Lord directs them in the future.

Proverbs 22:6 Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it.
What do these 3 things have in common? They are all answers to a child’s prayer. For the next three days you will be able to find out how God answers prayer of a little child.
When Diana’s son, Anthony, was very young he went shopping with his Mom. It is typical for a child to want something at a store and he saw this beautiful balloon. He wanted it but money was short then and Diana told him they didn’t have money for the balloon.
“Why don’t you ask Jesus for the balloon?” his mother told him. So Anthony prayed and did ask Jesus for the balloon.
When the mail came there was a letter from Diana’s Mom with one dollar in it. Just enough for Anthony’s balloon. They went and brought the balloon. A little boy’s prayer was answered even before he asked because the letter was mailed days before.
Matthew 7:11 If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children, how much more shall your Father which is in heaven give good things to them that ask him?
