80,000 Souls

In 2 weeks it will be Carolyn Curtis (cofounder of SOS Events) Birthday. She will be 80 years old. Her desire is to see SOS Events Ministry reach the goal of 80,000 decisions for Christ by the end of the year, in honor of her birthday. 70,000 have been recorded, so that means that the goal for this year 2018 is 10,000 decisions. You can be part of this goal by taking part in an event or personal soul winning using the “3 Things God Can Not Do”. God Wants You!

SOS Events Ministry has Christians from all walks of life volunteering to witness at events. The testimonies of our team members are wonderful. People who came from various backgrounds, some grew up in a Christian home, former alcoholics and drug abusers (now saved and delivered), various religious backgrounds, but all have one goal in mind. To bring others into a personal relationship with Jesus. How about you? Do you have a desire to see others saved? If you do but do not know how or have fear to witness, SOS Events can help you. Preparation for Celebration

Tonight, some of the volunteers who worked at Strawberry Festival but could not come to the luncheon, will come to the SOS Events property to have dinner (supper) as a thank you for their hard work. It takes preparation to get ready for a meal. Can you imagine the preparation in Heaven for us, when we who are saved will attend the marriage supper of the Lamb (Jesus). He said He was going to prepare a place for us and part of that preparation is a supper to celebrate. What things we as Christians have to look forward to.

Revelation 19:9 And he saith unto me, Write, Blessed are they which are called unto the marriage supper of the Lamb. And he saith unto me, These are the true sayings of God.

Storms

in Florida there have been many storms in the last few days. These pictures (borrowed from my website) show a beautiful rainbow. It reminds us of the storms of life. We may have trials, sorrows and difficulties, however, they pass and we find peace and contentment because God has walked with us through our storms. And at the end when they are over there is joy.

Psalms 30:5 For his anger endureth but a moment; in his favour is life: weeping may endure for a night, but joy cometh in the morning.

Salvation Testimony

“Started my life over to do better from this moment on. I am 100% sure of going to Heaven, my life has started over!” Wayne Age 46

This testimony was written on the back of a decision card. SOS Events gets name, address, phone number, age and Testimony from people who have trusted Jesus at an event so that they will get a Bible study, be contacted by a local church and be prayed for. The goal is to lead them to Christ and have them start over in a new life as a Christian.

2 Corinthians 5:17 Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.

Remembering Tom Curtis

Today is the 2nd Anniversary of Tom’s going home to meet his Savior, Jesus. He would be so happy to know that SOS Events Ministry, that he and his wife Carolyn, founded is continuing and growing. Tom was a Godly man who had one goal in mind and that was to see people be saved. Since the ministry began in 2001, over 70,000 souls have trusted Jesus to be their Savior. What a legacy. Tom never stopped telling people about Jesus love for them and was a witness until the last day of his life. What a great example and encouragement to us. To honor his life today please pray for SOS Events, for more souls to be saved, increased dedicated volunteers and supporters both financial and spiritual. The one Bible verse that describes Tom’s life is:

Proverbs 11:30 The fruit of the righteous is a tree of life; and he that winneth souls is wise.

Adopt a Mom

Tomorrow is Mother’s Day, a great day for Moms with loving children who honor their Mother with cards, gifts and maybe a phone call or some expression of love. But, look around you, there may be a woman who is hurting on this special day of the year. It could be that she has lost a child and is grieving. She may have a child who has gotten into trouble and is in jail or the child (young or old) who is rebellious and refuses to contact her. Whatever the reason for her sadness she needs someone to show love to her on Mother’s Day. You can be the one who will lighten her load. If you have a neighbor or someone at church who may be hurting, invite her for lunch tomorrow, or get a small gift and surprise her with it. A phone call or card would be the thing that would brighten her day. So think of the woman you can Adopt a Mom. A small thing with a great blessing. Even Jesus when on the cross thought of His mother and provided for her care.

Appreciation Luncheon

Yesterday, SOS Events had an appreciation luncheon for the volunteers who worked at Strawberry Festival this year. The Festival was in March but this was the first opportunity to thank the workers of that event. The luncheon was well attended and food, fellowship and testimonies were great. The focus was on the Lord and His faithfulness as He gives strength and wisdom to the volunteers of SOS Events to continue to win souls at events.
