Fear and Greed!

August 31, 2019

I remember when hurricanes were fun. No one panicked. No one hoarded. We got our surfboards out ready to hit the beach. If the power went out it was exciting because we got to light candles throughout the house and eat ice cream for breakfast. If you were lucky, you got school off for a day. What happened? I went to the store yesterday to grab some dog treats and dinner and it was like the apocalypse. The parking lot was a derby. No shopping carts. There was dry dogfood spilled in the aisles like there was a fight over the last bag of Fido’s fave brand or something. ๐Ÿ˜‚

I got my stuff and got outta there. Now I need to go to the store today because we ran out of coffee creamer.๐Ÿ˜ญ Please pray for us here in Florida. Because of the people. They are what I’m most frightened of. ๐Ÿ˜ฐ๐Ÿ˜‰

Sent by a friend on Facebook. So true. What happened? Fear and greed. Both are against what the Bible teaches.

2 Timothy 1:7 For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.

Proverbs 21:26 He coveteth greedily all the day long: but the righteous giveth and spareth not.

Longing for Home

July 31, 2019

Have you ever been on a trip, in a hospital or just visiting but you are longing for home? There is an old saying “Home is where the heart is”. How true. We can be in any place and still feel at home if we are surrounded by people we love. As Christians we should be long for HOME. Our heavenly home where we shall see Jesus and be reunited with family and friends who have gone one before us. However, while we are still traveling this earth we do have our loved One Jesus, who is with us 24/7 no matter where we are. So, today, wherever you are you can feel at home with your Comforter and Friend Jesus but looking forward to the day when we will reach our Heavenly home.

Jesusโ€™ Death and Resurrection

Mark 16:6 And he saith unto them, Be not affrighted: Ye seek Jesus of Nazareth, which was crucified: he is risen; he is not here: behold the place where they laid him.

You Can Make A Difference

July 21, 2019

This story may or may not be true, but it is something to think about. As Christians we must be careful how we treat others. Sometimes our attitude, especially at church can make a huge difference in another’s life. Are we friendly, kind and helpful to those who come to church? Do we make visitors feel welcome? If someone is alone do we offer to sit by them to make them feel more comfortable? Look around and see if you can be the difference in someone’s life at church today.

Ephesians 4:32 And be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ’s sake hath forgiven you.

Canโ€™t Pray

July 19, 2019

Sometimes our hearts are heavy or our minds are so clouded with cares of our life that we don’t know how to pray. We do have the Holy Spirit who then prays through us and for us. Try in those times to find one thing to be thankful for and tell Jesus thank you for that. Remember, He knows about the situation and can help in any circumstance.

Romans 8:26 Likewise the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered.

George Washington Quote

July 3, 2019

Tomorrow is the 4th of July… a holiday to celebrate America’s freedom. Truth about the founding of our country is no longer taught in public schools. Most of the younger generation have no idea that our founding Father’s trusted and relied upon God for wisdom to govern our nation. Unrest, immorality and crime have become the normal in the USA. It is every Christians responsibility to teach our children and grandchildren about the foundation of America. The Bible was the source of inspiration for those leaders, pray it is the inspiration of our leaders today.

Psalms 33:12 Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord; and the people whom he hath chosen for his own inheritance.

Attitude

Philippians 4:8 Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.

Answer to Prayer

June 13, 2019

Sometimes, we have to send out an SOS to the Lord in prayer. He is faithful to answer. An acronym for how to get prayers answered follows:

Sincere: it is important that we are sincere when we pray. God knows our heart and He knows if we really desire what we are asking for.

Obedience: we must be sure we are obedient to Godโ€™s word. There must not be any known sin in our lives.

Specific: we must be specific and tell God exactly what we need.

Jeremiah 33:3 Call unto me, and I will answer thee, and shew thee great and mighty things, which thou knowest not.
