In a time of trouble in the world we need to be able to turn to the ONE who can help us when we feel that there is nothing but darkness. Sometimes we think that there is no hope, but we have someone who cares and loves us. Jesus is the light at the end of our dark tunnel.
John 8:12 Then spake Jesus again unto them, saying, I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life.

2020 is here. Will it be a year full of joy or sorrow? Will we have success or failure? Sickness or health? God does not allow us to see into the future but he does promise to guide us if we put our trust in Him. He is with us in every circumstance, good or bad and He is always good.
The staff of SOS Events wishes you and your loved ones a happy prosperous New Year. May God bless you as you trust in Him.
Proverbs 3:5-6 Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.

New Years Eve 2019…Time to reflect on the year that is ending and look to the New Year ahead. Joys, sorrow, memories and lessons learned in 2019 are now behind. Tomorrow starts a New Year. Time to look forward. It is a good idea to set some goals. Lose weight, do a better job at work, get better grades in school, witness more, help others. Whatever your resolution, keep it. Many of us make resolutions or goals and by January 10th they are already forgotten. The only way to keep our resolutions is to ask Jesus for help and look to Him as our example.
The goal for SOS Events Ministry in 2020 is to win more people to Jesus, get more events in new areas, train more Christians to work at events and Serve Our Savior faithfully. You can help by praying, giving or volunteering. Let us make 2020 the best year ever.

Christmas is over, time to take down the beautiful decorations and keeping in our hearts the memories of Christmas 2019. It always makes me sad to put away those wonderful things that make Christmas special every year. As we put away the lights, tree, nativity sets, let us NOT put away the truth of Christmas, Jesus was born into this world to be our Savior, and it is our responsibility to tell others. So let us make a resolution to be better witnesses in 2020, and Serve Our Savior with more zeal than we ever had before.
Acts 26:22-23 Having therefore obtained help of God, I continue unto this day, witnessing both to small and great, saying none other things than those which the prophets and Moses did say should come. That Christ should suffer, and that he should be the first that should rise from the dead, and should shew light unto the people, and to the Gentiles.:

Only two angels are mentioned by name in the New Testament. Gabriel and Michael. Gabriel was an archangel who was a messenger sent by God to deliver news to Zacariah and then later to Mary. Gabriel is also mentioned in the book of Daniel in the Old Testament. Angels had an important role in the birth of the Lord Jesus. Their presence brought fear into the hearts of the people they appeared to according to scripture.
We tend to forget that people like Zacariah, Mary and Joseph were just ordinary people that God used in extraordinary circumstances. If Gabriel appeared to us today we too would be afraid. As Christians we can look forward to the time when we will see angels in Heaven. What a wonderful future we have and there will be no fear, only wonder and beauty as we behold Heaven and meet Jesus face to face.
Luke 1:19 And the angel answering said unto him, I am Gabriel, that stand in the presence of God; and am sent to speak unto thee, and to shew thee these glad tidings.
Luke 1:26 And in the sixth month the angel Gabriel was sent from God unto a city of Galilee, named Nazareth,
(It has been a blessing to see the symbols of Christmas and we look now to the people that the Bible recorded about the birth of Jesus)

One of the beautiful symbols of Christmas is the pointsettia plant that we like to decorate with for the holiday. In Florida and other warm climates the plants grow and bloom in December. The shape reminds us of the star that led the wise men to Bethlehem to worship Jesus. The red color the precious blood of Jesus, shed for us, the only we can have our sins forgiven. White plants, a symbol of Jesus’ purity. The poinsettia, a wonderful reminder of the true meaning of Christmas.
1 John 1:7 But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin.

A whimsical welcome to the last month of the year, December. A time in the busy holiday season to take time to look up to our Lord and Savior, Jesus. He is truly the secret to a wonderful life. (Let’s not keep Him a secret, tell someone about Him at every opportunity)
Titus 2:13 Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ;

We wake up Sunday morning and have to prepare for worship physically but how often do we take the time to spiritually prepare ourselves before we even walk through the doors? The devil will try to distract us with all kinds of problems. It’s a simple thing to forget in the bustle of getting ready on a Sunday morning, but we need to be thankful going to church. There is a right way to show up on Sunday, but it can only happen if we start preparing our hearts before we even leave our homes.
