Are You a Faithful Servant?

June 13, 2015

Matthew 25:21 His lord said unto him, Well done, thou good and faithful servant: thou hast been faithful over a few things, I will make thee ruler over many things: enter thou into the joy of thy lord.

These words were spoken by JESUS to His disciples and are meaningful to us today. At SOS Events ministry there are many volunteers to do events. Most are faithful and if they commit to do an event they are there on time and do a great job.

There are a few, unfortunately, who do not take their commitment seriously thus putting a burden on the other workers. Witnessing and winning souls to Christ is a serious responsibility.

When God directs you to something for Him are you a faithful servant, or do you find an excuse like some of JESUS followers in Matthew 8:21?

Faithfulness is important to JESUS. When you stand before Him will He say, “Well, done thou good and faithful servant.”?

Life is a Vapour

June 12, 2015

The Bible says, “Life is a vapour”. James 4:14 Whereas ye know not what shall be on the morrow. For what is your life? It is even a vapour, that appeareth for a little time, and then vanisheth away.

This week we learned of a friend and family member who died of a heart attack while stopped at a traffic light. He was a man in his early 50’s who thankfully had made a profession of faith in the Lord Jesus Christ several years ago and followed Him in baptism in a local church.

Most people think that they have plenty of time to accept Christ and the devil has them fooled into thinking that they can put it off until tomorrow. For them tomorrow may never come.

I am sure when Walt left his house in the morning he never expected to be gone in a few minutes later.

If you are thinking you have plenty of time to make a decision to accept JESUS as your Savior, please stop now and reconsider. You may not have another chance.

It is simple and JESUS is waiting to hear you confess your sin, repent and ask His forgiveness. He loves you, paid for you sins by dying on the cross and is waiting to hear your prayer.

You can pray something like this if you don’t know what to say,

Lord Jesus, I admit I have sinned, I believe you died on the cross for forgiveness of my sins, I ask that you forgive me and come into my heart and life and change me and make my life new. I invite you to be my Savior and I will follow you for the rest of my life. In JESUS name. Amen.

Wednesday Record

June 11, 2015

Many people are happy to see Wednesday come each week because it is the middle of the workweek for people who work. At SOS Events we love to see Wednesday come because it is an opportunity to win souls at the Plant City Flea Market.

This week was exceptional as 25 decisions were recorded. Randy Thomas is pictured here with Maria one of the Spanish people who received JESUS as their Savior.

John 1:12 But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name:

Honor Police Officers

June 10, 2015

Yesterday, Tom got stopped by a policeman. We wondered what we were doing wrong. We were not speeding, we were obeying all the traffic rules we thought. He told us to pull over and stop and we obeyed.

Thinking he would give us a ticket for something, we were concerned, however, he came up and said, ” Sir, do you know you have no taillights?”

We did not know. He checked Tom’s license and said, “Go and get them fixed.”

We immediately went to Pep Boys and the lights were fixed right away.

The point in telling this story is to say that we appreciate our police officers. In a time that some people are causing riots because policemen are doing their jobs, we law abiding citizens need to stand up for our policemen.

We did not get the officer’s name but thank him for helping us to maybe avoid an accident.

1 Timothy 2:2 For kings, and for all that are in authority; that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty.

God is Faithful

June 9, 2015

As the ministry of SOS Events grows the blessings overflow and at the same time the burdens of the staff, volunteers, trainers and event workers seem to be increased also.

Many of our workers and volunteers are over retirement age and along with that comes the problems that is part of the aging process. Some have physical problems, illness and a few have financial concerns.

The younger generation has the challenge of trying to coordinate family, job, church and  working events for SOS Events.

The blessing to all is the faithfulness of our Savior the Lord Jesus, who never leaves or forsakes us and walks with us through trials. He also promised us wisdom and guidance when we follow Him. The blessings to all who are with SOS Events far outweigh all of our burdens. When we witness and see a lost soul come to trust Christ as Savior, see lives changed it is worth every hardship that comes our way.

So today when you pray please add the workers of SOS Events to your list. God knows each of us who has needs  and you will be blessed when you see the results published to answered prayers.

1 Corinthians 1:9 “God is faithful, by whom ye were called unto the fellowship of his Son Jesus Christ our Lord.”

Good Report

June 8, 2015

“Well, things have slowed down a bit as it has gotten warmer. Less traffic at the store and less traffic at the flea market. But still sharing the Gospel and God is honoring the commitment and sending lost souls to hear.

Good news is that the increased focus on Evangelism has brought out several people from the Church and I’m hoping for more of course and praying for more.

Each week the Pastor mentions the successes we are having and He is starting another opportunity for people to share the Gospel at abortion clinics as well. I’m still looking for people to work at the Lighthouse Stores, and that has been slow going.”

Tom Floyd

SOS Events receives reports from workers like this one from Tom Floyd who has been using SOS display board and materials at Light House Ministries store for about 3 years. Many decisions for Christ have been reported through this opportunity.

Philippians 4:8 Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.

God Directs

June 7, 2015

SOS Events ministry purchased a concession trailer a few years ago but never had the opportunity to use it as our schedule has been so busy.

Our Spanish Pastor Romero saw it and wanted it for his ministry. Every week his group goes to the Flea Market to win souls and this trailer will be a great asset to them.

They win more souls to the Lord in one week than 20 churches combined. Praise the Lord this trailer will now be used as was the intention several years ago. God truly directs the path of believers. It is a great blessing for SOS Events to partner with this soul winning church.

Proverbs 3:5-6. Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him,  and he shall direct thy paths.

Opportunities

June 6, 2015

Leslie, a home health nurse, came to the Curtis house to change the bandages on Tom’s ankle. As with all the others who have come she heard the gospel and she gladly accepted JESUS as her Saviour.

What an opportunity Tom has had to witness everyday to a different person. We are so thankful that his wound is healing and hopefully he will be able to get back to his regular activities soon. In the meantime he will take advantage of all the opportunities that God gives him to tell others about the Lord.

Please continue to pray for his complete healing and also for the five people who have been saved though this trial.

Galatians 6:10 As we have therefore opportunity, let us do good unto all men, especially unto them who are of the household of faith.

Praise The Lord

June 5, 2015

Praise the Lord that the blog is up on the new website. Check out the interaction on the homepage. Pray with us at SOS EVENTS that many unsaved people will be curious about the “3 Things God Can Not Do” and be saved. Also, tell your friends to check it out.

Psalms 106:1

Praise ye the Lord. O give thanks unto the Lord;

for he is good:

for his mercy endureth for ever.

Still working a few things out on the new website. We are pleased with everything and cannot wait until it is totally done.
