How is Your Church Doing?
July 22, 2018
Luke 19:10 For the Son of man is come to seek and to save that which was lost.
Funeral Salvation
July 12, 2018Sharing the Gospel using the “3 Things God Can Not Do” is successful in winning someone to Jesus whenever and wherever it is used. Jess Page, a Pastor and one of our faithful Regional leaders from Alabama, uses the “3 Things” in any situation. At a funeral this week, one man needed assistance of his salvation and another person trusted Jesus as Savior. Jess also talked to a couple about joining SOS Events. They are from North Carolina, one of the States we do not have a team.
If you are not familiar with the “3 Things God Can Not Do” go to the home page and scroll down.
2 Timothy 4:2 Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all longsuffering and doctrine.
Sin
July 10, 2018Sin may be just a 3 letter word but if you carry it around long enough it will cause death.
Romans 6:23 For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.
Navy Anchors Away
July 6, 2018Stand Navy out to sea,
Fight our battle cry
We’ll never change our course,
So vicious foe steer shy-y-y-y.
Roll out the TNT,
Anchors Aweigh.
Sail on to victory
And sink their bones to Davy Jones, hooray!
Anchors Aweigh, my boys,
Anchors Aweigh.
Farewell to foreign shores,
We sail at break of day-ay-ay-ay.
Through our last night ashore,
Drink to the foam,
Until we meet once more.
Here’s wishing you a happy voyage home.
Blue of the mighty deep
Gold of God’s great sun.
Till all of time be done, done, done, done.
On seven seas we learn
Navy’s stern call
Faith, courage, service true,
With honor, over honor, over all.
Proverbs 30:18-19
There be three things which are too wonderful for me,
yea, four which I know not:
The way of an eagle in the air;
the way of a serpent upon a rock;
the way of a ship in the midst of the sea;
and the way of a man with a maid.
Army Song
July 5, 2018In honor of the brave men and women in the armed forces for the next few days the official songs will be posted for the branches of the USA military. Independence Day is now over but we should be thankful all year long for the freedom we enjoy in America. (Notice in the last verse the line “Faith in God”.
Verse:
March along, sing our song, with the Army of the free
Count the brave, count the true, who have fought to victory
We’re the Army and proud of our name
We’re the Army and proudly proclaim
Chorus:
First to fight for the right,
And to build the Nation’s might,
And The Army Goes Rolling Along
Proud of all we have done,
Fighting till the battle’s won,
And the Army Goes Rolling Along.
Refrain:
Then it’s Hi! Hi! Hey!
The Army’s on its way.
Count off the cadence loud and strong
For where e’er we go,
You will always know
That The Army Goes Rolling Along.
Verse:
Valley Forge, Custer’s ranks,
San Juan Hill and Patton’s tanks,
And the Army went rolling along
Always fighting from the heart,
And the Army keeps rolling along.
(Refrain)
Verse:
Men in rags, men who froze,
Still that Army met its foes,
And the Army went rolling along.
Faith in God, then we’re right,
And we’ll fight with all our might,
As the Army keeps rolling along.
2 Timothy 2:3 Thou therefore endure hardness, as a good soldier of Jesus Christ.
Entertainment
June 18, 2018Entertainment is important to us as Christians especially in the USA where we have so much time to spend on sports, hobbies, TV or whatever we do for relaxation. The Bible tells us that whatever we do, do it for the glory of God. How we spend our “free” time is important. We must be careful to watch (TV or movies) and listen (music or conversation) to things that will bring glory to God in our personal lives and for those around us who look to us for spiritual guidance.
1 Corinthians 10:31 Whether therefore ye eat, or drink, or whatsoever ye do, do all to the glory of God.
Safety
June 12, 2018Carolyn Curtis (founder of SOS Events Ministry) is traveling by car from NY State back home to Florida. She went to a family reunion so many of her children and grandchildren are also traveling long distances. When the family is scattered, it is a great blessing to be able to trust the Lord for safety on the highway for all. Carolyn has 41 grandchildren and 38 great grandchildren not counting spouses or her children, so it is a large family for the Lord to look after.
Psalms 4:8 I will both lay me down in peace, and sleep: for thou, Lord, only makest me dwell in safety.
3 THINGS GOD CAN NOT DO Display
June 8, 2018
Many times SOS Events display boards are used by Pastors to present the gospel in church. This photo shows Mark Maddox speaking at Faith Baptist church in Homosassa Fla on Memorial weekend. The display board is one of the tools that is used to help people understand the plan of salvation.
Acts 14:7 And there they preached the gospel.
