Sin may be just a 3 letter word but if you carry it around long enough it will cause death.

April 10, 2018Sometimes we think we are having a “bad” day. Nothing goes right. We get frustrated and angry. When you have a day like that, (and we all have had them), STOP and think what Jesus did for us. What suffering He endured for us. Crucifixion is a horrible, painful death. Jesus willingly went to the cross so that we can have eternal life. Our troubles are small compared to what Jesus went through for us. So instead of complaining and getting angry, think about Jesus and thank Him for one blessing that He has given you today. The biggest one is eternal life. No more pain, sorrow or trouble is what we have to look forward to.
John 5:24 Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life.
God’s Gift to You

God gave us the greatest gift that will last for all eternity. Presents we give and receive here are only temporary, and maybe will last for a little while. You can receive the gift that will last forever. Ask Jesus to forgive your sins and invite Him to be your Savior. It will be the best gift you will ever get and this Christmas you will truly have the joy you have never known.
Are You Ready For 2017?
December 30, 2016Are you ready for a new year? Many will make resolutions that they cannot keep because they do not have the wisdom or willpower to follow through on the changes they want to make in life. There is only one way that we can change from our old ways to new.
That is by trusting Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior, then asking him to change our behavior. There are many promises in the Bible that tells us we can depend on Him to help us make the changes in our lives that we desire to have. So do not make resolutions for New Year’s but put your trust in Jesus to make your life what you want it to be.
2 Corinthians 5:17 Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.
Philippians 4:13 I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.
New Life
September 22, 2016Patty Mills wrote; One of my favorite salvation stories is when a guy brought his beer in one hand and his cigarette in the other hand into the booth to find out about the 3 things God cannot do. The Holy Spirit led him to accept Christ as His Lord and Savior for the very first time that day and after his prayer he said (matter-of-factly): “You know, I’ve been thinking about not drinking as much.” To which our soulwinner replied, “I like sweet tea. It’s pretty good.” HA! Love that there is no condemnation for those who are in Christ and how God immediately works through the Holy Spirit to change our hearts once we give them to Him. Don’t have to change and get all dressed up to come to God. Come to God and He’ll do all the changing needed. (NOTE: This guy was NOT drunk. We do not give the gospel presentation to anyone who appears to be mentally/physically/emotionally unable to understand the gospel presentation. Just give them tracts and pray for them.) Love it!

What’s New?
April 17, 2016Sunday begins a new week, it is a new day, an opportunity to start a new life in Jesus for those who have never had their sins forgiven. God gives us a new heart when we accept Jesus as our Savior. He turns darkness to light, sadness to joy, and sinner to Saint.
Everyday is a new day to draw closer to God and be more like Him. Are we perfect? No, but we are forgiven.
And that ye put on the new man, which after God is created in righteousness and true holiness. Colossians 3:10
Two Birthdays
August 21, 2015August is the month with the most birthdays in our family and we celebrate each one, thanking the Lord for the children, grandchildren and great grandchildren God has blessed us with.
More important than their birthday celebration is that they have a second birthday. The second birthday is when they were born again. Everyone needs 2 birthdays.
The Bible says, John 3:3 Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.
Do you have two birthdays? If not, you can be born again right now. First, Admit that you have sinned. Romans 3:23 For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;
Then believe on the Lord Jesus. Romans 10:9 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.
Lastly, call upon the Lord to save you. Romans 10:13 For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.
Pray by telling God, “Dear Jesus, I know I am a sinner and I am sorry for my sins. I believe that Jesus died on the cross, was buried and rose again so that my sins can be forgiven. I repent and ask You to forgive me, come into my heart, and make my life new. I invite You Jesus to be my Lord and Savior. Thank you. Amen!”

Changed Lives
April 6, 2015Sylvia and Yongei came to Florida from Iowa to work in the booth at Strawberry Festival this year. In this picture they are with a man they led to the Lord. This is the second time they have come to join with SOS at the Festival. They fly in, rent a car and stay at a hotel all at their own expense which is a great blessing.
When they were here they received a copy of the book “101 Salvation Stories”, read some of the stories and decided to take copies back to their Bible study group. They gave each person a copy and a week later asked one of the ladies, Sue, if she had read it. Sue said she had but realized she was not saved while reading the book. They immediately led Sue into a relationship with the Lord and are rejoicing in her salvation. Recently we have received 2 more reports of people being saved in Iowa. SOS Training and participation changes lives, both for the new converts and the soul winners.

New Years Eve
December 31, 20142014 is almost over. Today is New Years Eve. Many people will be out partying. There will be accidents, fights and confusion for some who think they are having a good time, only to wake up in the morning with a headache and regrets.
There are some people who are good moral folks, who truly want to turn over a new leaf, as the expression goes, but will find that they will fall back into their same old life in just a few days or weeks.
Then there is the Christian, who knows that a new life can only begin with asking JESUS to forgive their sin, come into their heart and make their life new. CHRISTIANS look forward to 2015 with a different outlook. They know that whatever happens in the New Year, they have a friend, companion and Holy Spirit in them that helps them walk in newness of life.
If you are in the first or second group but would like a true new beginning, ask Jesus to save you today.
Our prayer for all is that you will have a safe and Happy New Years Eve and that 2015 will be blessed.

Gift of Salvation
December 26, 2014The gifts have been opened, the feasting is done, some people are rejoicing, some are not pleased. Christmas 2014 is over.
For those of us who know the true meaning of Christmas the joy is still there, but for those who have never accepted God’s gift of salvation through Jesus there is a letdown today.
It is never too late to invite JESUS to forgive you for your sins, come into your heart and life and begin a new life with Him.
Today, the real joy of Christmas can be yours.
Revelation 3:20
Behold, I stand at the door, and knock:if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me.
