David faced a giant who seemed impossible to defeat. Goliath was bigger, stronger, and far more experienced in battle. But David did not focus on the size of the giant. He focused on the greatness of his God.
David knew where his strength came from. His confidence was not in himself, his sling, or the stones in his hand. His confidence was in the Lord.
We all face “giants” in our lives—problems that seem too big, circumstances we cannot control, or fears about what may happen tomorrow. When those times come, we have a choice. We can talk about how big the problem is, or we can remember how great our God is.
Don’t talk fear. Talk faith. God is still greater than anything we will ever face.
1 Samuel 17:45 KJV
“Then said David to the Philistine, Thou comest to me with a sword, and with a spear, and with a shield: but I come to thee in the name of the LORD of hosts, the God of the armies of Israel, whom thou hast defied.”
Whatever giant you are facing today, put your faith in the Lord. The giant may be big, but our God is bigger!
