Name of Jesus
June 12, 2016Peace Be Still
June 6, 2016Mark 4:39And he (Jesus) arose, and rebuked the wind, and said unto the sea, Peace, be still. And the wind ceased, and there was a great calm.
Residents of Florida and the East Coast are preparing for a tropical storm named Colin. June 1st, hurricane season starts. Many people fear these storms and it is right to take precautions, however, as Christians we know that the Lord is in control.
We also have “storms” in our lives for which we have no control, but He is the only One who can control every situation with those words, “Peace be still.” Whatever the storm is for you today or in the future if it be physical, mental or spiritual turn to Jesus to calm your fears and bring peace to your heart.
Answered Prayers
May 26, 2016Thank you for your prayers. 13 people made decisions for Christ yesterday at the Flea Market. Praise the Lord for those who trusted Christ. We will see them some day in heaven.
God answers the prayers of His children, particularly when we pray for something that is His desire. Jesus came to earth, lived, died and rose again so that we might have eternal life. It is our responsibility to tell others and pray for the Holy Spirit to convict and draw them to Jesus.
Luke 19:10 For the Son of man is come to seek and to save that which was lost.
Pray for Souls
May 25, 2016Today, Wednesday, May 25, 2016, SOS Events volunteers will be at the Plant City, Fl. Flea Market preaching the gospel to people who may have never heard and may never have another opportunity to accept Jesus as their Savior. Please pray with us for a harvest of souls today.
Romans 10:14 How then shall they call on him in whom they have not believed? and how shall they believe in him of whom they have not heard? and how shall they hear without a preacher?
Present with the Lord
May 19, 2016Today my much loved husband’s body will be buried. He is not dead but more alive now than he ever has been here on earth. We who are left will shed tears today because will will miss him, but we know he is with the One he loved the most, Jesus.
2 Corinthians 5:8 We are confident, I say, and willing rather to be absent from the body, and to be present with the Lord.
Jesus, Our Rock
May 16, 2016The month of May is extremely busy. Graduations, celebrations and much activity. There is also the sting of sickness and loosing a loved one. In families there are joys and sorrows at the same time. Life seems like a roller coaster and emotions are high and low, but there is one thing that is consistent, the love of Jesus.
He is the rock that keeps us steady. He is the One who is with us in every situation.
1 Corinthians 10:4 And did all drink the same spiritual drink: for they drank of that spiritual Rock that followed them: and that Rock was Christ.
Happy Mothers Day
May 8, 2016May God bless all the Mothers who read this blog. God gave us a special high calling in life when he gave us children. Every Mother is a teacher, nurse, helper, example and many more things to her children. It is a great responsibility but also one of the greatest blessings a woman can have.
Our children reflect who we are. So Moms be the best you can be for them. The only way that we can be what our children need is through Jesus Christ. Follow Him and get instruction from the Bible that has much to say about rearing children. Then when they are adults thy will know they are blessed to have a Godly Mother.
Proverbs 31:28 Her children arise up, and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praiseth her.
Peace be Still
May 6, 2016On Wednesday the sky was dark, thunder, lightning, wind, rain and threat of hail. Not a day that SOS Events could set up a booth at the Flea Market. Every other day this week has been beautiful, sunshine in Florida. Sometimes we wonder why God would let it storm on a day when souls could be saved but He is in control and we trust Him.
Life is like the weather, sometimes our days are full of sunshine and other times there are storms. We are quick to Praise Him in the good times but when the trials come, do we Praise Him then?
Jesus is willing and able to still the storm in our lives just as He said to the sea, “Peace be still” and immediately the storm stopped. He is with us in the sunshine and He is with us in the storms. He will never leave us or forsake us, so yes, we do need to Praise Him in the storms of life.
If this is a time in your life that you are going through a storm allow the Word of God and the Holy Spirit to bring peace to your troubled heart. Remember, there is always sunshine after the rain.
Mark 4:39 And he arose, and rebuked the wind, and said unto the sea, Peace, be still. And the wind ceased, and there was a great calm.
My Hope
April 19, 2016My hope is built on nothing lessThan Jesus’ blood and righteousness.
I dare not trust the sweetest frame,
But wholly trust in Jesus’ Name.
Refrain
On Christ the solid Rock I stand,
All other ground is sinking sand;
All other ground is sinking sand.
When darkness seems to hide His face,
I rest on His unchanging grace.
In every high and stormy gale,
My anchor holds within the veil.
Refrain
His oath, His covenant, His blood,
Support me in the whelming flood.
When all around my soul gives way,
He then is all my Hope and Stay.
Refrain
When He shall come with trumpet sound,
Oh may I then in Him be found.
Dressed in His righteousness alone,
Faultless to stand before the throne.
Refrain
This wonderful old hymn is so true. Jesus is everything to the Christian. In Him we put all our hope. He is our rock and our salvation.
1 Thessalonians 5:9
For God hath not appointed us to wrath, but to obtain salvation by our Lord Jesus Christ,
What’s New?
April 17, 2016Sunday begins a new week, it is a new day, an opportunity to start a new life in Jesus for those who have never had their sins forgiven. God gives us a new heart when we accept Jesus as our Savior. He turns darkness to light, sadness to joy, and sinner to Saint.
Everyday is a new day to draw closer to God and be more like Him. Are we perfect? No, but we are forgiven.
And that ye put on the new man, which after God is created in righteousness and true holiness. Colossians 3:10
