Sometimes, we have to send out an SOS to the Lord in prayer. He is faithful to answer. An acronym for how to get prayers answered follows:
Sincere: it is important that we are sincere when we pray. God knows our heart and He knows if we really desire what we are asking for.
Obedience: we must be sure we are obedient to God’s word. There must not be any known sin in our lives.
Specific: we must be specific and tell God exactly what we need.
Jeremiah 33:3 Call unto me, and I will answer thee, and shew thee great and mighty things, which thou knowest not.

Have you ever been impatient? Waiting for something to happen but it seems it never will. Then, in God’s perfect timing, the answer comes, even better than you could imagine. We have all been there. Let us determine in our hearts to wait on Him for guidance.

Billy Graham said, “Discouragement is the opposite of faith.” It is Satan’s device to thwart the work of God in our lives. Discouragement blinds our eyes to the mercy of God and makes us perceive only the unfavorable circumstances. You will never met a person who spent time in daily prayer, in the study of the Word of God, and who was strong in the faith who was ever discouraged for very long.

For those of us who may be missing a loved one who has passed away, may this verse from God’s Word bring comfort.

The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want.
He maketh me to lie down in green pastures:
he leadeth me beside the still waters.
He restoreth my soul:
he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name’s sake.
Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death,
I will fear no evil: for thou art with me;
thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.
Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies:
thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over.
Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life:
and I will dwell in the house of the Lord for ever.
