God Cares

September 7, 2017

Sometimes in life when we think there is only sorrow or trials, we think God has forsaken us. Then He gives us a blessing to show us that He cares and loves us. When going through the darkest trial look for the blessing. It may be something very small, like a phone call or text message from family or friend. It may be something big like a rainbow after the storm, but God is there and we need to lean on Him for peace and comfort.

1 Peter 5:7 Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you.

Labor Day!

Ecclesiastes 3:13 And also that every man should eat and drink, and enjoy the good of all his labour, it is the gift of God.

Jesus My Friend

September 2, 2017

This hymn written by Will L. Thompson in 1904 expresses what Jesus should mean to every Christian.

Jesus is all the world to me,

My life, my joy, my all;He is my strength from day to day,
Without Him I would fall.

When I am sad, to Him I go,

No other one can cheer me so;

When I am sad, He makes me glad,

He’s my Friend.

Jesus is all the world to me,

My Friend in trials sore;

I go to Him for blessings, and

He gives them o’er and o’er.

He sends the sunshine and the rain,

He sends the harvest’s golden grain;

Sunshine and rain, harvest of grain,

He’s my Friend.

Jesus is all the world to me,

And true to Him I’ll be;

Oh, how could I this Friend deny,

When He’s so true to me?

Following Him I know I’m right,

He watches o’er me day and night;

Following Him by day and night,

He’s my Friend.

Jesus is all the world to me,

I want no better Friend;

I trust Him now, I’ll trust Him when

Life’s fleeting days shall end.

Beautiful life with such a Friend,

Beautiful life that has no end;

Eternal life, eternal joy,

He’s my Friend.

God’s Smiles

1 Samuel 16:7 But the Lord said unto Samuel, Look not on his countenance, or on the height of his stature; because I have refused him: for the Lord seeth not as man seeth; for man looketh on the outward appearance, but the Lord looketh on the heart.

Hang in There

August 11, 2017

Have you ever felt like you are hanging on with no help in sight? Whatever the trial or situation that makes you feel that way, there is good news for you as a Christian. We have a someone who is right there with us. His name is Jesus. He is the One who will save us. Our helper, deliverer and friend. Call out to Him in prayer.

Psalms 18:2 The Lord is my rock, and my fortress, and my deliverer; my God, my strength, in whom I will trust; my buckler, and the horn of my salvation, and my high tower.

Home Sweet Home

August 9, 2017

Have you ever been away from home for awhile. Vacation, business trip or travel. Then it is time to go “home”. What great anticipation. You may live in a mansion or a small cottage, but whatever the property it is still home. As Christians we should have the same love and anticipation for our heavenly home, Heaven. Waiting for us there is Jesus, our loved ones who have gone on before us, and wonders we cannot even imagine. Jesus said:

John 14:2-3 In my Father’s house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also.

Young Evangelist

SOS Events has teams of workers in several states. In New Jersey the team is working various events throughout the year. Recently in the report came these two testimonies written on the decision cards.

Eric, age 12, wrote: I am 100 % sure that I will go to heaven. Jesus died for my sins. (Eric was quick to become an evangelist and brought his mom Andrea to us). See Andrea’s testimony below.

Andrea, age 28, wrote: 100% sure I’d go to heaven. I trust God. God died on the cross for me.
1 Timothy 4:12 Let no man despise thy youth; but be thou an example of the believers, in word, in conversation, in charity, in spirit, in faith, in purity.

Priorities

July 28, 2017

August has not even arrived and summer is almost over for some people. School starts soon for the southern states. Some as early as next week. Life seems to move to fast with work, home and responsibilities. In your busy life make sure you take time, first for God, then for family and if priorities are straight every thing else will fall into place.

Matthew 6:33 But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.

Love One Another

July 15, 2017

Monday Morning

July 10, 2017

A new beginning of the work week for many people. Some love the thought of going to work, as it is pleasurable to them. Others are unhappy because they hate their job but have to work. Some are not working and would love to be able to go to work. Maybe illness, loss of job or circumstances keep them from working. Then there are vacations this time of year and this week is full of plans for family, fun and adventure. Whatever your day brings forth one thing to remember, this is the day that the Lord made, we are to be glad and rejoice in it.

Philippians 4:4 Rejoice in the Lord alway: and again I say, Rejoice.
