Fear

October 13, 2017Blessed or bewitched? Some people are superstitious and believe that if the 13th day falls on Friday it is “unlucky”. This fear dates back to hundreds of years before Christ. The Bible tells us that everyday is blessed by God and we as Christians must trust Him. So today, Friday the 13th, praise the Lord for His goodness and blessings that He has given you. Go out today looking for something good to happen to you.
Psalms 145:2 Every day will I bless thee; and I will praise thy name for ever and ever.
Heaven, Our Permanent Home
October 10, 2017Walking into my home after a week away was so wonderful. “Home is were the heart is” is an old saying but true. However, as a Christian we should be looking for our permanent home, Heaven. There we will see our wonderful Savior, Jesus. We will be with our loved ones who have gone on before. Also, we will meet the people that we have had the privilege of leading to the Lord. Or will we go in empty handed with no one because we failed to witness to our family, friends or neighbors? Will the Lord say to us, “Well done thou good and faithful servant”? Let us get busy and tell as many people as possible about this beautiful place that we will be going to when the Lord calls us home.
Matthew 25:21 His lord said unto him, Well done, thou good and faithful servant: thou hast been faithful over a few things, I will make thee ruler over many things: enter thou into the joy of thy lord.

Go and Tell
October 9, 2017In church yesterday the invitation song was “People Need the Lord” written by Steve Green. The words are beautiful and the message is clear. Why are we as Christians sitting by doing nothing when people all around us are lost without Jesus? Your friend or neighbor might be smiling on the outside and hurting on the inside just waiting for someone to give them the answer for their heartache. We have the answer, faith in Jesus. Jesus gave us a commandment, go and tell.
Mark 16:15 And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.
It Takes Time
October 2, 2017Sometimes we get discouraged, thinking that what we do for the Lord has not been successful. Handing out tracts, teaching a class, witnessing and we think nothing happens. Sometimes it takes a long time before we see the results of our labors. Last week we got a call from a man in Kentucky. He had been trained a year ago as a trainer with SOS Events. He had a display board, tracts and all the material necessary to get into an event, but we did not hear from him. But, after a year, he decided to get busy and start doing events. This first event is October 8 and he hopes to have several more during this autumn season. This example is repeated many times in SOS Events ministry. Sometimes it’s even years before people decide to use what they have been taught.
Galatians 6:9 And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not.
Power or Programs?

Newborn Babies
September 22, 2017Most of the time it’s exciting to hear of the birth of a new baby. We shower them with love and kisses and take care of them, feed them and welcome them into our family. But there are babies born who are unwanted and unloved and not cared for properly. Children are a responsibility. New Christian converts are babes in Christ and should be loved and cared for, not left to themselves to grow in the Lord. They are our responsibility. This is why it is so important to follow up on people who have been saved. If you know a new Christian, take that responsibility seriously and invite them to church, Bible studies and teach them to follow the Lord. SOS Events Ministry tries to follow up with every new Christian that makes a decision by sending a Bible study to each one, and then the local church can visit and see them grow.
