No matter what the circumstance, weather or trial in your life, God tells us to rejoice and be glad. Not always easy to do but God will bless if we rejoice out of obedience even if we don’t feel it at the moment. The key is “we will”.

Be Glad
January 18, 2018Pray For Your Pastor, Today
January 14, 2018Today is Sunday and your Pastor needs prayer. Please do not bother him before service with problems or things he needs to deal with. If you speak with him encourage him. Be faithful to church and give of your time and finances. Write him a note of appreciation. Tell him about the good things his children are doing, but if they need discipline tell him after the Sunday service or better yet wait until tomorrow. Do not go to his wife and complain to her about her husband and expect her to fix him. You want your pastor to be used of God to speak to your heart. Do not get upset if he steps on your toes during a sermon, it is the Holy Spirit convicting you. Remember, the visitor in your church may need to be saved and we show God’s love by our love one for another.
Philippians 2:2 Fulfil ye my joy, that ye be likeminded, having the same love, being of one accord, of one mind.

– Is there a sin I need to confess?
– Is there a promise I can claim?
– Is there an attitude I need to change?

Illness
January 9, 2018Many people are having problems with being sick this time of the year, especially in the southern USA. The drastic change in weather is probably a factor. The best thing to do if you or your family or friends are ill is to pray. Moms have an especially hard job to care for sick children and they need prayer and a helping hand would be a blessing. Adults who are ill please take care of yourself, rest and pray. The old remedy is chicken soup. Maybe not scientific but it sure makes one feel better. Our prayer for you is to get well soon and trust in the Lord for a quick recovery.
James 5:16 Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much.
Monday Morning
January 8, 2018Monday morning starts the new work week for most of us. If you love Mondays, congratulations, if you dread the start of a new week, remember your attitude has a lot to do with how your day and the rest of the week will be. Christian, today is the day the Lord has made, He says to rejoice and be glad in it. Look for something positive and you will find it. Happy Monday!
Psalms 118:24 This is the day which the Lord hath made; we will rejoice and be glad in it.
Winter is Here
January 3, 2018Winter came in with extremely cold weather all over the USA. Some of us love the cold and others hate it, but the Bible says give thanks in all things. If you love the cold go out and enjoy it. For those who think they will freeze to death, curl up with a blanket and a good book. Be thankful for the change in seasons, it gives us verity in our lives. Weather changes but Jesus is the same yesterday, today and forever.
Ephesians 5:20 Giving thanks always for all things unto God and the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ;
New Year’s Eve
December 31, 2017Many people will be celebrating New Year’s Eve tonight drinking, going to parties, etc., only to start the New Year with a headache and hangover. We can start our New Year with a clean heart. Christians take time this evening to pray for forgiveness for the unconfessed sins that we have committed. If you have never accepted Jesus as your Savior there is no better way to start a new year than becoming a new person in Christ. Happy New Year. May 2018 bring you and your loved ones peace and joy that only the Lord can give.

New Year’s Resolutions
December 27, 2017Thinking about a New Year’s Resolution? Usually it is something like, “I am going to diet, or I will exercise, I will stop some bad habit, I will turn over a new leaf.” Whatever it is you want to change in your life for the New Year lasts a few days, a week or maybe even a month. The problem is most of us do not have the willpower to continue our resolution for a long period of time.
For a real life change there is only one way to do it and that is through Jesus. If you are not a Christian, you need to call on Him to be saved. If you are a Christian, then you need to call on Him daily for help to do whatever you need to do to make changes in your life to make you what you need to be. Without Jesus life changes are hard if not impossible. It is still a few days until The New Year. Why wait? Call upon Jesus today and start 2018 right.

The Wise Men
December 23, 2017The account of the wise men who came to worship Jesus is found in Matthew 2:1-12. Tradition says they were three kings who came from the east but the country they came from is not mentioned. They were thought to be 3 because of the number of gifts and kings because of the value of the gold, frankincense and myrrh.
They followed a star which appeared in the heavens until they came to Jerusalem and inquired of Herod where the King was born. Herod wanted to know more about this baby and asked the wise men to bring news of His whereabouts when they found Him. They continued to follow the star, presented their gifts and worshiped Jesus.
Jesus was not in the manger at the time the wise men found him, as is often pictured in Christmas cards and manger scenes, but was now a young child as the Bible states. Probably about 2 years old or a little younger and was in a house with Mary his mother. Then being warned in a dream the wise men went a different way back to their country and did not report to Herod.
There is a saying,”Wise men still seek Him”. Are you seeking Jesus? What He wants is our desire to follow Him as the wise men followed the star and to worship Him and give the gift of ourselves to Him. Are you wise?
Matthew 2:1-2 Now when Jesus was born in Bethlehem of Judaea in the days of Herod the king, behold, there came wise men from the east to Jerusalem, Saying, Where is he that is born King of the Jews? for we have seen his star in the east, and are come to worship him
