Invitation

September 22, 2017Most of the time it’s exciting to hear of the birth of a new baby. We shower them with love and kisses and take care of them, feed them and welcome them into our family. But there are babies born who are unwanted and unloved and not cared for properly. Children are a responsibility. New Christian converts are babes in Christ and should be loved and cared for, not left to themselves to grow in the Lord. They are our responsibility. This is why it is so important to follow up on people who have been saved. If you know a new Christian, take that responsibility seriously and invite them to church, Bible studies and teach them to follow the Lord. SOS Events Ministry tries to follow up with every new Christian that makes a decision by sending a Bible study to each one, and then the local church can visit and see them grow.

Fear
September 16, 2017Maybe you fear what people think of you… Not having enough money… Public speaking, flying, being far from home, or spiders… Failure or rejection… Losing a loved one… Disease or pain… Death…. Fear is mentioned in the KJV version of the Bible over 500 times. Over 100 of those verses say, Fear Not. Trusting in the Lord is the only way to overcome fear.
2 Timothy 1:7 For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.

Football Season
September 5, 2017It is football season. The true football fan will spend money for clothing in their favorite teams colors. They spend Sunday afternoon at the game or glued to the television and cheer and yell when their favorite player makes a touchdown. What enthusiasm for a game. We have someone much greater that the best football star that ever lived and that is the Lord Jesus. Let us show some enthusiasm for Him and tell others about The gift of salvation He has given us. That is something we can shout about, and we can never loose.
2 Peter 3:18 But grow in grace, and in the knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. To him be glory both now and for ever. Amen.
Trying to Loose Weight?
August 30, 2017Many of us are trying to loose weight. We diet, exercise, and try to stay away from food that will keep us from our goal. The Bible says we have weight that we need to get rid of and it is called sin. We need to decide to loose the “weight” of sin in our lives. Jesus said He is the bread of life. We must first trust Him to take away our sin. Then a good exercise is to read the Bible and pray everyday. Then put away anything that will keep sin in our lives. It may be wrong friends, or a bad habit, or going to places where we are tempted to pick up our sin again. Let us loose the weight we need to both physical and spiritual.
John 6:48 I am that bread of life. Hebrews 12:1 Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us,

August 28, 2017Do you pray for your Pastor? He needs all the help and prayer you can give him. He has many burdens he cannot share with anyone except his Heavenly Father because of his great and many responsibilities for his family and congregation. Pray for him today and everyday.

SOS Alabama
August 25, 2017Ok leaders…need your help and prayers. Looking for 2 additional leaders to bring some volunteers with them to En Fuego event this Sat in Verbena, Al. Your church may already have plans to attend and if so this would be a GREAT way to plug in your youth. Please pray for the needs for workers at this Alabama event tomorrow and that many souls will be saved.
