Some of our old hymns and songs of the faith are being lost in this generation. Let us try to keep the messages alive with the old music along with the new. A great message in one of them is “Trust and Obey” was written by John H. Sammis in 1887. Read the words and you will not want this message to be lost:
1 When we walk with the Lord
in the light of his word,
what a glory he sheds on our way!
While we do his good will,
he abides with us still,
and with all who will trust and obey.
Refrain:
Trust and obey, for there’s no other way
to be happy in Jesus, but to trust and obey.
2 Not a burden we bear,
not a sorrow we share,
but our toil he doth richly repay;
not a grief or a loss,
not a frown or a cross,
but is blest if we trust and obey. [Refrain]
3 But we never can prove
the delights of his love
until all on the altar we lay;
for the favor he shows,
for the joy he bestows,
are for them who will trust and obey. [Refrain]
4 Then in fellowship sweet
we will sit at his feet,
or we’ll walk by his side in the way;
what he says we will do,
where he sends we will go;
never fear, only trust and obey. [Refrain]
Job 36:11 If they obey and serve him, they shall spend their days in prosperity, and their years in pleasures.

A little humor for you today, with a lesson. It is important to read your Bible and communicate with God daily. He will give you direction, wisdom, and answers to life’s problems in His Word.
Psalms 119:105 Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path.

Go to church today to worship, but Jesus is the only way to get to Heaven.
John 14:6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.
If you are working for The Lord, with SOS Events, teaching Sunday School, volunteering for VBS or anything that is service for Him, you may feel like your work is unappreciated or that you don’t matter. Everything we do to bring glory to God is important and a verse to encourage you follows:

Sharing the Gospel using the “3 Things God Can Not Do” is successful in winning someone to Jesus whenever and wherever it is used. Jess Page, a Pastor and one of our faithful Regional leaders from Alabama, uses the “3 Things” in any situation. At a funeral this week, one man needed assistance of his salvation and another person trusted Jesus as Savior. Jess also talked to a couple about joining SOS Events. They are from North Carolina, one of the States we do not have a team.

2 Timothy 4:2 Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all longsuffering and doctrine.
Sin may be just a 3 letter word but if you carry it around long enough it will cause death.
Romans 6:23 For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

The last few days we have honored the men and women in the military, but as Christians, our true defense is The Lord.
In times of stress, heartache, trials and problems we need one another. As Christians the greatest thing we can do is pray for a Christian brother or sister in their need. God answers prayer. When you see a person in need immediately offer to pray for them, even the unsaved will appreciate your care and concern. God hears and answers prayer.
Jeremiah 33:3 Call unto me, and I will answer thee, and shew thee great and mighty things, which thou knowest not.
