How Many Reasons?

November 20, 2014

“There are so many reasons to be thankful.
There are 8766 hours a year ~ how many of them
do we spend in praise and thanksgiving for all that our
heavenly Father has done for us and all He will be doing for us?”

1 Chronicles 23:30
And to stand every morning to thank and praise the Lord, and likewise at even;

Quiet

November 19, 2014

One of the things we can be thankful for is quiet. The dictionary meaning is: “Lack of noise, commotion, clamor, distraction. A peaceful state or condition.”
Dr. Charles Stanley says to have a place that is totally quiet and dark when you pray and want to hear from God.
Susanna Wesley would put her apron over her head so the children would know not to disturb her when she prayed.
Our lives are so full of noise. TV, machines, traffic, phones, etc. that it is hard to have the time and quiet place to get alone with God, but it is essential for a close relationship with Him.
If you do not have the time, (you think) get up earlier than your family and read some scripture and just be still and listen for God to speak to you.
It is wonderful to have quiet and feel God’s presence with you.

Psalms 46:10
Be still, and know that I am God:

Praise

November 18, 2014

People from all over the world have come to SOS website. Many are hungry for the Word of God and have gotten the Bible studies.
When SOS was founded in 2001 we expected to go with the gospel to the USA, but God had other plans. The blog has only been active for about one year and people from 85 countries outside the USA have been on the website this year so far. Over 85,000 people have had the opportunity to be saved and to grow in Christ.
With thankful hearts all the Praise goes to the Lord for the privilege of having this website and blog.

Mark 16:15
And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.

Ronald Reagan Quote

November 17, 2014

“Today let us take heart from the noble example of our first President. Let us pause from our many activities to give thanks to almighty God for our bountiful harvests and abundant freedoms. Let us call upon Him for continued guidance and assistance in all our endeavors.”
President Ronald Reagan, Oct. 13, 1986 Thanksgiving Day, 1986

2 Corinthians 9:11
Being enriched in every thing to all bountifulness, which causeth through us thanksgiving to God.

New Trainers

November 15, 2014

Gil and Kevin from New Port Richey, Fl came to the SOS office to be trained as trainers yesterday. Alice did a fine job working with them.
Someone from their church got a tract from the Plant City Farmers Market, took it to Kevin who called the office for tracts. Then he asked for a presentation at his church. Alice did the presentation and Kevin and Gil were impressed to come and be trained to get others involved soul winning at events.
There are many local events in the New Port Richey area which will now have SOS workers.
God is great and all the thanks and praise goes to Him for the blessings of new trainers. Please pray for them as they teach and bring more souls to Christ.

Ephesians 1:16
Cease not to give thanks for you, making mention of you in my prayers;

Bible Studies

November 13, 2014

The Bible Studies on our website gets thousands of people searching for them. These studies have been a blessing in our lives personally, but have been a way for Christian growth to the people who have used them, not only in our country but all over the world.
Today we are thankful The Bible studies and the many people who have been able to use them from this website.

2 Timothy 2:15
Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.

Mealtime Prayer

November 12, 2014

IMG_1394.JPG
This simple prayer is taught to small children as a blessing for their food. We as adults sometimes forget the importance of thanking God for our meal, or maybe we are ashamed to bow our heads in public to give thanks if we are at a restaurant or at a business lunch. Even JESUS gave thanks for the provisions that God gave. Let us follow His example at every meal.

Matthew 15:36
And he took the seven loaves and the fishes, and gave thanks, and brake them, and gave to his disciples, and the disciples to the multitude.

Your Calling

November 11, 2014

Are you thankful to be where you are in life? It may not be a place of your choosing, but God has you there for a reason.
You may be a student that is struggling with studies or relationships, maybe you are a young adult with problems you feel you cannot understand. Middle age brings different things that may be great but with more responsibility than you would like, or the later years when illness or loneliness is your lot in life right now.
God wants to use you where you are and He has allowed you to be exactly where you are.
Be thankful! If you thank Him for your “calling” He will reveal to you His plan and purpose.
Read I Corinthians 7:20-24

1 Corinthians 7:20
Let every man abide in the same calling wherein he was called.
