Really! Do we as born again Christians really believe that if we die we have gained?
Many people have died for their faith. The disciples, martyrs, missionaries and ordinary people who loved Jesus enough to stand for Him even in the face of terrible deaths.
We Christians, especially in America and the Nations in the free world are soft, lazy and contented to live out our lives in comfort.
What if persecution should come. Are we ready? We need to re-examine our faith. To die IS GAIN. We are going to meet our Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ!
We make choices every day. We choose what we wear and what we eat. Where we go. We can choose to be happy, sad or grumpy.
The most important choice we will ever make is to accept Jesus as our Savior. The next choice is a daily one, serve the Lord today in our speech and action.
Can you rejoice when things go wrong? Sickness, death of a loved one, loss of job, children on drugs or some other tragedy in your life. YES!
We don’t rejoice about the situation we are in, we rejoice that we have a Savior, Jesus, who walks through the problem with us.
It is ok to cry and even ask why, but we should never forget that God is there.
You may be questioning how I would know. I have been through many tragedies in my life time, the death of 2 sons, a grandchild and 2 wonderful husbands.
Tears and mourning, of course, but God is good. His love and mercy are always there.
There are things in life that we all struggle with! Maybe it’s fear. Fear of sickness, lack of finances, or something else.
Is your problem an addiction? Alcohol, drugs, smoking, over eating.
Even good things can become a problem. Too much television, games, anything that we do that takes the place of serving God and family.
Laziness, hatred, gossiping. All these things the Bible addresses. These are the things that we don’t talk about, but they are constantly on our mind. How do we overcome these problems in our lives?
Jesus is the answer. First, we must be sure we know Him as our Savior. Then we must trust Him to help us overcome whatever our problem is causing us to focus on the wrong thing.
Daily turn that problem over to Jesus through prayer. Find verses in the Bible that address your problem. Memorize those verses and when you are tempted to do what you are trying to overcome, repeat those verses and turn to something else to replace that desire.
You can have victory over your problems, but only if you give them to Jesus and trust Him to help you.
The Fourth of July celebration is over for this year. Many people will go back now to the same old routine, forgetting why they even celebrate it in the first place. Forgetting that we celebrated freedom and our wonderful USA.
Some people do that after they’ve accepted Jesus as their Savior. They go back to the same old routine, forgetting that they are now a child of God.
If you are someone who has forgotten that you have been forgiven, that you are a new creation in Jesus, and that your life needs to change.
Go back to the foot of the cross. Ask Jesus to forgive you for forgetting his great love and ask him to help you make a change in your life. He is waiting for you!
John 8:32 And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.
John 8:36 If (Jesus) the Son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed.
True freedom is not from without. We can be bound by sin. If you live in a free country or a country that does not have freedom, maybe illness makes you feel in bondage, or maybe you are in prison, you can still have freedom in your soul.
A little boy came up to one of the volunteers at the Freedom Festival at Fellowship Baptist Church in Thonotosassa, Fl, pointed to the table with the ABC’s of Salvation. He said “I want that.”
He had seen the “3 Things God Can Not Do” display board, but did not wait to talk to that volunteer.
Not understanding what the boy wanted one of the other volunteers told him that there was not anything to give him. Both volunteers did not know what he wanted.
He would not leave and again said, “I want that.” And pointed to the soul winning table.
Finally, the volunteer ask him, “Do you want Jesus in your heart.”
“Yes”, the little boy answered. After explaining to him that Jesus could forgive him, the boy prayed.
He was so excited that he jumped up from the table and ran off without even telling his name or information.
That little boy knew what he wanted and needed. Jesus tells us to let the little children to come to Him. We have to be in tune with children when they are ready to come to Jesus.
Mark 10:14 – But when Jesus saw it, he was much displeased, and said unto them, Suffer the little children to come unto me, and forbid them not: for of such is the kingdom of God.
Isaiah 43:10 – Ye are my witnesses, saith the LORD, and my servant whom I have chosen: that ye may know and believe me, and understand that I am he: before me there was no God formed, neither shall there be after me.
