Cheerful Giving

December 29, 2018

December 29, 2018. The year is almost over. This year has been a great year for SOS Events Ministry. God has blessed with almost 3000 souls coming to Christ. New Leaders have been trained and are serving the Lord with SOS Events. The ministry is expanding into new areas.

Those of you who follow the blog are a blessing and there have been many responses from people asking for prayer, using the Bible studies and other materials offered. People from over 92 Countries have been on the blog and the gospel has gone out worldwide.

SOS Events is a faith based ministry that is supported by churches and individuals. Only our office staff are paid, all other workers are volunteers.

There are some people who are looking for a tax deduction at the end of the year and SOS Events ministry is a great investment for your treasure in Heaven. All gifts are tax deductible.

God loves a cheerful giver and if you would like to contribute click on donate on the right, that takes you to the donate page. Then click on “I’d love to donate”. Every gift is appreciated and is used for the salvation of souls.

The ministry could not function without money but the greatest gift you can give is to PRAY for SOS Events. Pray for more salvations, growth for the newly saved, strength, wisdom and good health for the workers. Most of all power of the Holy Spirit to continue the ministry the Lord has given.

2 Corinthians 9:7  Every man according as he purposeth in his heart, so let him give; not grudgingly, or of necessity: for God loveth a cheerful giver.

Conversation

November 28, 2018

We talk about things like the weather, politics and even religion with friends, neighbors and perfect strangers. Conversations that are really not important in view of eternity. What is important is turning those conversations into witnessing so that they will hear the gospel and have an opportunity to go to Heaven. SOS Events has a simple way to turn any conversation into what is important by just asking the question, “Do you know the 3 Things God Can Not Do?” That is not confrontational and most people will respond favorably. Want to know more? On the home page is the simple plan of salvation under the life preservers. You can use this method to lead someone to Jesus. Turn your everyday conversations into life changing talk.

Philippians 1:27 Only let your conversation be as it becometh the gospel of Christ: that whether I come and see you, or else be absent, I may hear of your affairs, that ye stand fast in one spirit, with one mind striving together for the faith of the gospel;

A Special Note

November 24, 2018

This note is from Carolyn Curtis’ great granddaughter, 8 years old. What a blessing to have generations of Godly children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. To know that the times of family gatherings will not end here on earth, but will be together in Heaven for eternity. The key is to have 2 Birthdays. Physical and Spiritual.

John 3:3 Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.

God’s Perfect Plan

November 21, 2018

The following testimony is a true Thanksgiving story of a new great grandchild of Carolyn Curtis, written by her granddaughter in law, Nicole. Anyone who has had a problem waiting on God will benefit from this testimony of God’s perfect plan.

“I just want to start out by saying thank you to every single one of you that have shared this roller coaster journey of ours! It is overwhelming how blessed we are and how lucky we are to have such great and supportive family and friends. I know I couldn’t have done this without you all. Some of you know that Danny and I have been trying to have children of our own for a while, and you know everything that we have been through with that. And when you hear people say ,”Oh it will happen” and “God has a plan” it’s not something you want to hear when you have a plan and things aren’t going your way! I wanted kids, a whole bunch of them, and I wanted them right then. When things were not going as I had planned it was very discouraging. I was sad and mad and thought,” Why is this happening to us”! I just wanted a baby. I saw all these people that shouldn’t be reproducing and they have like seven kids. What is going on??! What did I do to be punished like this? I am usually a very happy person and I like to have fun and I hate being miserable! Danny was great through the whole thing, very supportive and always there. I really felt like he didn’t know exactly what I was going through. I wanted to be a Mom. I felt like part of my purpose was to have kids, to be a stay at home Mom with them. I mean for career day at school I went as a stay at home Mom with twins! Of course I was negative and bitter in my head. Mostly I didn’t want anyone to see how I was struggling with this. I am a happy positive person! But I was so tired of being miserable, sad, and mad. I couldn’t do it anymore. Why am I trying to do this by myself?! So one night I started reading my Bible and praying for hours. It was like a huge weight had lifted off of me. Why in the world did I not do this sooner? I was so focused on my plan not working like I wanted that I didn’t even stop and think ,wait a minute what is God’s plan for me? I am not even kidding from that night on I haven’t felt angry or bitter, of course there were more times where I thought, what is going and what is your plan? I tried to be positive and just kept reminding myself God has a plan. Years had passed and it seemed like it was bad news after bad news. Things not working out and I thought ok God what now because I am not sure how much more of this I can take! Well let me tell you He sure started making his plan known! We decided that we were going to adopt. We started that process and were about to head into the next stage when we got a very important phone call!!! Once again the plans changed. But the phone call was asking us if we wanted to adopt a little boy named Moses. That was God’s plan all along and we had to just wait on the perfect child for us!! We brought Moses home at the end of September 2017 and started the processes of adopting. (And how that all worked out is another long story by itself!) So God’s plan to put Moses in our life was worth everything that we went through and definitely worth the wait!! He is an answer to our prayers and we are so blessed!!! Thank God for keeping me strong through it all and I know this would not have been possible without Him. Now here on November 20th We finally get to say

Welcome Moses Slater to your forever family!”

Jeremiah 33:3 Call unto me, and I will answer thee, and shew thee great and mighty things, which thou knowest not.

Thankful for Friends

November 19, 2018

Thank the Lord for your friends. Some people have few friends, some have many friends.

A friend is someone who loves you in any circumstance. They laugh with you when you are happy and cry with you when you are sad, they accept you with all your faults and if you disagree they will come to an agreement even if it is to disagree agreeably. Sometimes a friend will disappoint you but they are still there for you when you need them.

There is one true friend that is always with you and that is Jesus. For the Christian He is the closest friend you will ever have and he never disappoints you. He listens to every prayer and has the power to answer. He comforts when you are hurting or sick. He is with you in your joys and in your sorrow. 24/7 He is there.

We are thankful for our friends here on earth but most thankful for Jesus who is ever present in our lives.

Proverbs 17:17 A friend loveth at all times,

Hebrews 13:5  Let your conversation be without covetousness; and be content with such things as ye have: for he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee.

Thankful for Our Churches

November 18, 2018

This week is a time of thanksgiving for all our blessings. One of the things we should be most thankful for is our church. Church is not just a building, it is a place to worship, fellowship, hear God’s Word, and sing praises to Jesus.

Psalms 122:1 I was glad when they said unto me, Let us go into the house of the Lord.

Give Thanks Everyday

November 15, 2018

The Bible says that we should give thanks in everything. Also, we should give thanks every day not just on Thanksgiving. Let us stop right now and thank God for at least one blessing. Sometimes it is hard if we are going through a trail in our lives, but there is always something to be thankful for, it may be something as small as being able to get out of bed. If you are reading this, YOU are who I am thankful for today. May God richly bless you.

Ephesians 5:20 Giving thanks always for all things unto God and the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ;

Answer to Prayer

November 14, 2018

SOS Events always needs Spanish speaking people to witness at events. Diana, standing beside the Pastor, had the opportunity to teach this group how to use the “3 Things God Can Not Do” display and the ABC’s of salvation in Spanish. Most of the materials that we have has been translated into Spanish. The Pastor was interpreter. He is excited about his people learning how to witness at events and today one of them is going to the Plant City Flea Market. Praise the Lord! Please pray for this group and for many souls to be won in the Spanish community.

Acts 22:15 For thou shalt be his witness unto all men of what thou hast seen and heard.
