Faithful Servant

April 2, 2015

Joy is one of the charter members of SOS Senior Servants. Every First Thursday of the month she along with 15-20 ladies come to help with projects for the ministry. In this picture she is counting tracts to put in baggies for distribution. As the ministry grows and more work needs to be done Joy and the other ladies are very much appreciated. Please pray for Joy and all our Senior Servants as they do have problems. Health is always an issue as we get older, but these ladies are faithful servants.

Luke 19:17  And he said unto him, Well, thou good servant: because thou hast been faithful in a very little, have thou authority over ten cities.

One Day

April 1, 2015

This hymn could be an Christmas Carol, a song for His Crucifixion, an Easter hymn or a joyful phrase for JESUS coming again. It is a personal favorite because the whole story of Jesus from birth to His coming again! Just read the words penned so long ago by j. Wilbur Chapman.

One day when Heaven was filled with His praises,

One day when sin was as black as could be,

Jesus came forth to be born of a virgin,

Dwelt among men, my example is He!

Refrain

Living, He loved me; dying, He saved me;

Buried, He carried my sins far away;

Rising, He justified freely forever;

One day He’s coming—O glorious day!

One day they led Him up Calvary’s mountain,

One day they nailed Him to die on the tree;

Suffering anguish, despised and rejected:

Bearing our sins, my Redeemer is He!

Refrain

One day they left Him alone in the garden,

One day He rested, from suffering free;

Angels came down o’er His tomb to keep vigil;

Hope of the hopeless, my Savior is He!

Refrain

One day the grave could conceal Him no longer,

One day the stone rolled away from the door;

Then He arose, over death He had conquered;

Now is ascended, my Lord evermore!

Refrain

One day the trumpet will sound for His coming,

One day the skies with His glories will shine;

Wonderful day, my belovèd ones bringing;

Glorious Savior, this Jesus is mine!

Refrain

Hebrews 2:12 Saying, I will declare thy name unto my brethren, in the midst of the church will I sing praise unto thee.

Written Testimony

March 30, 2015

SOS Events gets name, address, phone number, age and a testimony from the people who make decisions for Christ.

There is a question on the decision card that reads, What did JESUS do for you today when you prayed?

The quote is from a 12 year old, “He came into my heart today to live there and be my Savior.”

1 John 4:14 And we have seen and do testify that the Father sent the Son to be the Saviour of the world.

Churchyard Event

March 29, 2015

One of the most successful places to win people to the Lord is at an event held on church property. The two best time of year to hold a churchyard event is Easter time in the spring and Halloween in the fall.

The church provides for children an annual egg hunt and each year the crowds grow. Yesterday an “egg”stravaganza took place at a church near Brandon, Fl.

It was an exciting event. Several church members came to SOS training and worked in the booth and Alice one of SOS missionaries went to oversee the event. 34 decisions were made, both children and adults.

The best thing about a churchyard event is that the converts are already on the property. They know where the church is, they have met church members who showed friendliness and they get an invitation to church. Also, they have filled out a decision card with name, address and age so the church has a record of their salvation and can visit the convert and family in their home.

If your church has events on the property and would like more information email info@sosevents.org or call the office at 813-494-7512.

Acts 2:47 Praising God, and having favour with all the people. And the Lord added to the church daily such as should be saved.

New Opportunities

March 28, 2015

SOS Events has several new opportunities to expand the ministry in the USA. Gary, a man who looked at SOS website called and promised to visit 5 churches in his community in Kentucky with information about SOS Events ministry. He has a burden for the people of the area. Many churches have dwindled down to very small congregations that have no outreach in that area. With SOS Events the people come to you at community events. Pray for Gary as he contacts Pastors.

In the Saint Petersburg-Clearwater Florida area there is a large flea market that could be another opportunity to win many souls to Christ. Three churches have been contacted to get involved once a month at the Wagon Wheel Flea market. It only takes 3 people from each church to work three or four hours once a month. If you know of anyone in that area who may be interested please have them contact SOS Events.

Two more areas are in Ohio and Virginia. Two of our missionary couples will be traveling in the near future to present “3 Things God Cannot Do” to local churches in those areas. Pray CHRISTIANS in those churches will catch the vision fo the lost and participate with SOS in local events.

The harvest is truly ready but the laborers are few as the Bible says.

Matthew 9:37-38 Then saith he unto his disciples, The harvest truly is plenteous, but the labourers are few; Pray ye therefore the Lord of the harvest, that he will send forth labourers into his harvest.

God’s Word

March 27, 2015

“If you wish to know God, you must know his Word. If you wish to perceive His power, you must see how He works by his Word. If you wish to know His purpose before it comes to pass, you can only discover it by His Word.” (C.H. Spurgeon)

Many people from all over the world have an opportunity to study God’s word on SOS Events home page. If you have not used the Bible studies by Porter Barrington, do one today. Each one will give you knowledge and more understanding of God and the Bible.

Thy word have I hid in mine heart, that I might not sin against thee. Psalm 119:11

Reason for Rejoicing

March 26, 2015

Rejoice! 18 more people will be in Heaven because God blesses faithful witnesses. Plant City Flea Market is bustling this time of year on Wednesday mornings. SOS Events volunteers are there just as the sun is coming up. Yesterday, eighteen people walked by the SOS booth, stopped, heard the gospel and trusted JESUS as their Savior.

There is rejoicing. The new converts are joyful, the soul winner is thrilled and even the Angels in Heaven rejoice also. God gives the increase. One sure cure for discouragement is to win someone to Christ.

Holding forth the word of life; that I may rejoice in the day of Christ, that I have not run in vain, neither laboured in vain. Philippians 2:16

Make a Difference to Someone

March 25, 2015

“You can’t win everybody to the Lord, but you can always win somebody.” John R. Rice

John R. Rice was one of the greatest preachers on soul winning in times past. He was a man of few words unless he was in the pulpit but when he spoke people listened.

This quote reminds me of a story I once read about a little boy on the beach.

He was throwing starfish that had washed up on shore back in the water. There were hundreds of them.

An old man came along and asked the boy why he was throwing them back in the water. “You can’t save them all. You can’t even tell the difference. There are still hundreds of them.”

As the little boy picked up another starfish, threw it in the water, he said, “It makes a difference to this one.”

We can make a difference, one soul at a time. Let’s go soulwinning. Don’t know how? SOS Events can help you.

And of some have compassion, making a difference: Jude 1:22

Love One Another

March 24, 2015

A wonderful report from Pastor Romero (right). Over thirty people made decisions for Christ at the Flea Market in Lakeland in the last 2 weeks. This Pastor and his wife, Maria, have a burden to see the Spanish speaking people of this area be saved.

SOS Events is blessed to have a dedicated Hispanic pastor partnering with the ministry. He also, has a burden for the English speaking people. He is bilingual but many in his church are not. He prays for more Engish in his church while we at SOS pray for more Spanish.

His comment was, “We are a team, we work together.” The love that this man and his wife have for souls and other Christians is truly from the Holy Spirit.

By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples, if ye have love one to another. John 13:35
