Jesus Paid It All

September 25, 2016

This hymn says it all. Written by Elvina Hall.

I hear the Savior say,

“Thy strength indeed is small;

Child of weakness, watch and pray,

Find in Me thine all in all.”

Refrain:

Jesus paid it all,

All to Him I owe;

Sin had left a crimson stain,

He washed it white as snow.

For nothing good have I

Whereby Thy grace to claim;

I’ll wash my garments white

In the blood of Calv’ry’s Lamb.

And now complete in Him,

My robe, His righteousness,

Close sheltered ’neath His side,

I am divinely blest.

Lord, now indeed I find

Thy pow’r, and Thine alone,

Can change the leper’s spots

And melt the heart of stone.

When from my dying bed

My ransomed soul shall rise,

“Jesus died my soul to save,”

Shall rend the vaulted skies.

And when before the throne

I stand in Him complete,

I’ll lay my trophies down,

All down at Jesus’ feet.

I Peter 1:18&19 Forasmuch as ye know that ye were not redeemed with corruptible things, as silver and gold, from your vain conversation received by tradition from your fathers; But with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot:

Pray for Police Officers

September 24, 2016

We rarely post something from Face Book on the SOS Blog, but  police officers are in danger everyday for doing their job, protecting us. Please pray for this officer and all the police personel as they daily put their lives on the line to keep us safe.

“I’d like to introduce myself. My name is Brandon McNeal I’m a police officer. I am asking that you will pray for me and each and every other officer around the world. We are under attack and we need the prayers of all God’s saints! Will you SHARE THIS and remind people to pray for us? “-Officer Brandon McNeal.

1 Thessalonians 1:2 We give thanks to God always for you all, making mention of you in our prayers;

Desires

September 23, 2016

God’s promises are true and this verse is one that is a favorite. SOS Events goal and purpose is to get the gospel to as many people as possible and God is answering with new people in new areas every week. Desires being fulfilled. Praise the Lord!

New Life

September 22, 2016

Patty Mills wrote; One of my favorite salvation stories is when a guy brought his beer in one hand and his cigarette in the other hand into the booth to find out about the 3 things God cannot do. The Holy Spirit led him to accept Christ as His Lord and Savior for the very first time that day and after his prayer he said (matter-of-factly): “You know, I’ve been thinking about not drinking as much.” To which our soulwinner replied, “I like sweet tea. It’s pretty good.” HA! Love that there is no condemnation for those who are in Christ and how God immediately works through the Holy Spirit to change our hearts once we give them to Him. Don’t have to change and get all dressed up to come to God. Come to God and He’ll do all the changing needed. (NOTE: This guy was NOT drunk. We do not give the gospel presentation to anyone who appears to be mentally/physically/emotionally unable to understand the gospel presentation. Just give them tracts and pray for them.) Love it!

2 Corinthians 5:17 Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.

Forgiveness

September 21, 2016

“Not forgiving is like swallowing rat poison and waiting for the rat to die.”

Luke 6:37 Judge not, and ye shall not be judged: condemn not, and ye shall not be condemned: forgive, and ye shall be forgiven:

God’s Plan

September 20, 2016

We sometimes wonder why our plans do not work. Carolyn and granddaughter Beka traveled to Pennsyvania to work at an event but tried to schedule an appointment with a church in New Jersey while they were there. After several tries to make the plan to visit the supporting church did not happen Carolyn gave up trying. She decided to spend some family time in PA instead with her son and daughter-in-law when the event was over.

Going out into the yard in the early evening, Carolyn’s son Steve saw his next-door neighbor and called him over to the fence. Introductions were made and Gary, the neighbor, ask why Beka and Carolyn were in the neighborhood.

The conversation turned to the display board that we use in SOS Events. Gary had seen the board and called it the Bean Toss for Jesus. Carolyn assumed that Gary was saved. However, found out that though Steve had witnessed to him many times, he had never accepted the Lord.

Carolyn then proceeded to ask several questions and finally said, “Gary, will you pray with me and ask Jesus to be your Savior.” He did and they rejoiced together.

Had Carolyn had her way, Gary would not have had the opportunity to be saved. God directs our paths and our plans if we allow Him to.

Proverbs 4:11 I have taught thee in the way of wisdom; I have led thee in right paths.

Fruit of the Spirit

September 17, 2016

“Being judgmental and condemning is not one of the gifts of the Spirit.” Billy Graham

Galatians 5:22-23 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.
