What Have You Done With Jesus?

September 13, 2018

That is a question that each person has to decide for themselves. God has given us free will to choose. Believe that Jesus’ death, burial and resurrection as atonement for sin or reject Him. It is the difference between spending eternity in Heaven or Hell. It is a simple choice. If you think you will wait and decide later, that is a choice. We are not guaranteed another opportunity, life is uncertain. Accidents, ill health and death can happen and we may not have time to accept Jesus later. What have you done with Jesus?

Romans 10:9 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.

Senior Servants

September 7, 2018

On the first Thursday of every month, a wonderful group of ladies volunteer to help with the SOS Events newsletter. This group started out with 3 ladies who wanted to work for the Lord but could no longer get out. Now our Senior Servants Group has grown to about 25, from several different churches and denominations. They are not all seniors. It is great to see Christians from different places, backgrounds and churches work together and enjoy the food and fellowship. (This is one of three tables of ladies yesterday)

1 John 1:7 But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin.

Sowing Seeds

September 6, 2018

We enjoyed Santuck Flea Market Saturday under the SOS Events Ministry tent. We really appreciate Patricia Sides, John Balint , Fred Slater and David Rush for coming out to volunteer. We all look forward to seeing many souls added to the Kingdom but sometimes it just isn’t what God has planned. Sometime you’re there to free believers from the bondage that they still have to be perfect or that they have to earn the gift of salvation. Sometimes it’s to share 1 John 1:9 and free believers from thinking their sin is too great for God to forgive. Explain confessing and repentance so they know they can be forgiven. Every time we plant seeds and encourage those that need lifting up and pray for others we are serving. We’re greatful that 10 people received assurance they are 100%sure they are going to Heaven. We gave out 325 tracts and talked to 106 people . We thank God for this life saving ministry and look forward to being at Lee County Flea Market next weekend.

Galatians 6:1 Brethren, if a man be overtaken in a fault, ye which are spiritual, restore such an one in the spirit of meekness; considering thyself, lest thou also be tempted.

Half Empty or Half Full?

September 4, 2018

Attitude!! Do you look at situations in your life and rejoice? Your glass is half full. Or do you look and say “Oh, no. My glass is half empty.” If you have a positive look you see blessings of a glass half full. Negativity or a half empty glass outlook has no place in a Christian’s life. The Bible tells us to rejoice! Our attitude affect those around us. Example: ” You look great today.” Or “You look tired today.” How does that affect the person you are talking to? It may mean the difference in that person’s day. Let us be careful to be an encourager not a discourager.

Colossians 3:16 Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord.

What is Faith?

September 1, 2018

Hebrews 11:1 Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.

How can we have faith in God when our world seems to be falling apart? Disappointment, illness, accidents and many things happen in our lives to make our faith waver.

Faith is knowing that God is in control. Trusting Him even when we cannot understand why things are going so wrong. God does not promise Christians a trouble free life, what He does promise is that He is with us every step of the way. He will and He does work things out for our good.

You may ask me how I know. Today, I can Praise the Lord for taking me through the death of 2 sons, a grandchild and 2 Godly husbands and other trials and heartaches. God has never left me or forsaken me but always brings what I need when I need it. He uses those things in my life to bring encouragement to others. That is what faith in God does for me and He will do the same for you if you have faith in Him. The evidence of things unseen. Carolyn Curtis

Neighbors

August 31, 2018

Recently new neighbors moved into a house close to the SOS Events office. There were toys in the yard, cars in the driveway but no one was ever out in the yard to talk to. Everyone in the office wondered who our new neighbors were. Finally, one morning while passing by their house, Diana, SOS Events office manager, decided to stop by to invite the children to church.

Imagine the surprise when Carolyn walked into the office to find it full of children. Six to be exact, along with their grandmother. Diana had not only invited them to church but led the whole family to the Lord then brought them to the office to meet the rest of the office staff. Soul winning is something that should be on the hearts and minds of every Christian and SOS Events is blessed to have staff that witness not only at events but in our lives everyday.

Acts 1:8 But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.

Our Adversary

August 25, 2018

The devil is after YOU. We must be aware at all times that he is trying to ruin our testimony. None of us are exempt from his wicked devises. He makes sin look good and we fall into his trap. Marriages failing, drinking, drugs, anxiety and many other seemingly innocent sins creep into our lives one small step at a time. We must resist the devil and he will flee. Let’s pray for one another, family, friends, coworkers and neighbors, that they and we, will be able to resist the devil.

Busy in The Lord’s Work

August 23, 2018

Just a word of encouragement today for all SOS Events Workers and others who are on the front lines working for the Lord. Your Labour is not in vain. Keep on keeping on.
