Making Important Decisions

September 4, 2014

Do you have a problem making decisions? Many people have that problem. Godly decisions are very important in life. The Bible has the answer. Read God’s word. Pray. Wait on The Lord for direction. The waiting is the hardest part. And when in doubt don’t.

Psalms 27:14
Wait on the Lord:
be of good courage, and he shall strengthen thine heart:wait, I say, on the Lord.

Jesus Is Knocking

Jesus is knocking on the door of many hearts today. If you do not know Him, He wants to come into your life as your Savior. If you do know Him, He wants you to be a witness for Him and tell others how they can have Him in their lives.
Watch the training videos on the home page and you will find help for both of these situations.

Soul Winning

August 26, 2014

“I would rather win souls than be the greatest king or emperor on earth; I would rather win souls than be the greatest general that ever commanded an army; I would rather win souls than be the greatest poet, or novelist, or literary man who ever walked the earth. My one ambition in life is to win as many as possible.”
~ R. A. Torrey

Luke 14:23
And the lord said unto the servant, Go out into the highways and hedges, and compel them to come in, that my house may be filled.

Tom Curtis, Cofounder Memory 2014

“Christian character is how you treat those who can do nothing for you.”
Waiting for a prescription at the pharmacy, a man came up to me and ask for some money. It was a very hot day in Florida, close to 95 degrees, but this man had on a heavy jacket and winter hat. He was not an old man, but looked it because of his long unkept beard.
I told him, “Out in the parking lot there is a red car with a man sitting in it, go talk to him, he has the answer for you.”
When I came out of the store the man saw me and followed me to the car.
I asked him why he did not come to the car earlier, and he told me he was afraid.
Tom was so gracious to that homeless man, giving home some suggestions where he could find a place to sleep and get a good meal, gave him a small amount of money and most important prayed with him for salvation and also that The Lord would bless him in the future.

Acts 10:34
Of a truth I perceive that God is no respecter of persons:

Tracts Are Important

August 21, 2014

“When preaching and private talk are not available, you need to have a tract ready….Get good striking tracts, or none at all. But a touching gospel tract may be the seed of eternal life. Therefore, do not go out without your tracts.”
Charles Spurgeon
Are you in the habit of handing out tracts? Is it important? YES!
I felt my life was worthless, no one loved me and I decided to end my life by walking into Niagara Falls.
That morning I met with my boss, to finalize the work from the day before. He sensed that I was upset and prayed for me. As I was leaving he gave me a book and a tract.
I sat by the Falls, getting courage to jump in, and decided to read that tract.
It saved my life in two ways. I sincerely prayed the prayer on the back of that tract and immediately my life was changed. Jesus became my Savior on that day over 50 years ago.
God has used me in many ways since then. I now always have tracts in my purse, in the car available to give to someone. Carolyn Curtis
SOS Events tracts are attractive and simple. Check out the bookstore on our homepage.

Acts 11:14
Who shall tell thee words, whereby thou and all thy house shall be saved.

Back to School

August 19, 2014

Life changes as the time to go back to school is here for much of the USA. Little children go to school for the first time, grade school and middle school kids are excited to renew friendships. High school students wonder what this year will bring for them. College students are making decisions that will determine their future. Teachers are looking forward to a new school year, hoping to be a good influence on their students lives.
Parents and grandparents watch and see their children getting older and hopefully wiser. We pray that all will have a great year, a time to study and get knowledge.
Christians no matter what age, are given advice from the Bible on how to obtain knowledge and wisdom. Whatever our stage of life, our year can be a time of going to “school” also. Think about the following verse today and pray for a year that will make us wiser and more obedient to our Savior.

2 Timothy 2:15
Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.

Fear of Storm

August 15, 2014

Baby, our little chihuahua, is terrified of thunder. Last night there was a thunder storm that was extremely loud. Baby sleeps in a crate by our bed and usually loves her bed and has no problem sleeping. But when the thunder got loud she started to whimper in fear. Finally, I got up and put her in our bed. Immediately, she curled up and was sound asleep, knowing she was protected by her master.
We have a Protecter, The Lord Jesus, who is waiting to calm our fears in the storms of our life. When fear overtakes us we can trust Him to bring us through the storm in peace and safety.

Hebrews 13:6

So that we may boldly say, The Lord is my helper, and I will not fear what man shall do unto me.

Message from SOS Founder

August 11, 2014

I have been unable to go outside for six weeks. I cannot go out in the heat and have been very sick. I have been praying how can I serve The Lord having all the problems I have. GOD has through the Bible, prayer and confirmation showed me that SOS should begin a prayer ministry. For the many hurting people anywhere who call for prayer .When people have the desire to serve and cannot function because of age (Start a prayer ministry) We will convert my office to a phone room to pray and encourage everyone we talk to. What a blessing to serve in air condition environment We will give mature older CHRISTIANS a opportunity to serve The Lord in the phone ministry. To connect with all who have Problems and troubles and no place to find the answer. We are so blessed that we have many still presenting the gospel which changes lives PRAY FOR THE ADDITIONAL OUT REACH TO THE LOST WHICH GIVES US WHO,NEED AIR CONDITION AND A SOFT CHAIR AND PHONE AND OPPORTUNITY TO SERVE THE LORD AND OPPORTUNITY TO GROW IN CHRIST.WHEN WE PRAYED AND PUT OUR PRAYER NUMBER 813-784-8242 ON OUR BLOG THREE MINUTES WE GOT A CALL FROM A PASTOR IN MISSISSIPPI WHO SAID I NEED PRAYER .

This Is The Day

August 10, 2014

“This is the day, this is the day.
That the Lord has made, that the Lord has made.
We will rejoice, we will rejoice,
And be glad in it, and be glad in it.
This is the day that the Lord has made.
We will rejoice and be glad in it.
This is the day, this is the day
That the Lord has made.”
When you get down and feeling low, remember this little song. Then decide to rejoice in this day. Rejoicing can be a decision. I WILL rejoice.

Philippians 4:4
Rejoice in the Lord alway:and again I say, Rejoice.

Unexpected Offering

August 9, 2014

SOS Events received an offering this week through PayPal from a person who must be following the blog. Thank you for your generosity. SOS is dedicated to win souls to Christ and everything takes funds. Supplies like tracts, displays, booth rent and travel expense. We appreciate the faithful supporters and the one time givers are a great blessing.
God loves a cheerful giver and He will reward those who give.
This week 6 people were saved at just one of the Farmers Markets where SOS has a booth every week.
If you would like to share in the blessing click Donate on the right. That will take you to the Donate page.

2 Corinthians 9:7-8
Every man according as he purposeth in his heart, so let him give; not grudgingly, or of necessity:for God loveth a cheerful giver. And God is able to make all grace abound toward you; that ye, always having all sufficiency in all things, may abound to every good work:
