Journey of Thankfulness

November 10, 2014

November is the time of year when we should be focusing on the things that we are thankful for. Everyday, in the blog the purpose this month is to call your attention to the ways you can be thankful.
As the day dawns each morning my thoughts immediately go to what am I thankful for today? What can I write that will cause others to Praise the Lord for all His blessings?
My heart has been filled with gratitude, joy and fullness of the presence of God.
God has a plan for each of our lives and one thing He says is to give thanks in all things. When we do, even if times are stressful or seemingly impossible He then gives that inner peace and joy the only a child of God can know.
It is still early in November and it is hard to wait until tomorrow to see what my Journey of thankfulness will bring to my heart. Come join me on the journey.

Colossians 3:15
And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to the which also ye are called in one body; and be ye thankful.

We Thank God

November 9, 2014

1 Thessalonians 2:13
For this cause also thank we God without ceasing, because, when ye received the word of God which ye heard of us, ye received it not as the word of men, but as it is in truth, the word of God, which effectually worketh also in you that believe.

October-November are two of the busiest months of the year for all the workers at SOS. Reports keep coming in of souls being saved at events. Sometimes there will be 2 or 3 events going on the same day.
We are thankful for each person who receives the Word of God and makes a decision to follow Him.
We are thankful for every worker who will go and present the Gospel. The soul winners are of all ages, a few teens, young adults and some even into their 80’s. God has truly blessed SOS Events Ministry and we Praise Him for all that He does. We go and He gives the increase.

Be Thankful

November 8, 2014

“Be thankful that you don’t already have everything you desire,
If you did, what would there be to look forward to?
Be thankful when you don’t know something
For it gives you the opportunity to learn.

Be thankful for the difficult times.
During those times you grow.
Be thankful for your limitations
Because they give you opportunities for improvement.
Be thankful for each new challenge
Because it will build your strength and character.

Be thankful for your mistakes
They will teach you valuable lessons.
Be thankful when you’re tired and weary
Because it means you’ve made a difference.
It is easy to be thankful for the good things.
A life of rich fulfillment comes to those who are
also thankful for the setbacks.

GRATITUDE can turn a negative into a positive.
Find a way to be thankful for your troubles
and they can become your blessings.”

Psalm 92:1
It is a good thing to give thanks unto the Lord,
and to sing praises unto thy name, O most High:

Delivery Man

November 7, 2014

Diego, a delivery man came to the home of SOS founder, Tom Curtis, to deliver a walker for Tom so he can be more steady as he walks.
Diego was down on his knees putting the equipment together and Tom asked him, “What if you fell over right here and died, do you know where you would go?”
Diego paused, and seemed deep in thought. “I have no idea,” he said.
“Would you like to know how you can be 100% sure you are on your way to heaven?”, Tom asked.
Diego said he really wanted to know.
Tom then explained how JESUS died, was buried and rose again on the third day.
Diego believed and prayed to be saved. He was so happy to know for sure and was delighted to know he will be getting Bible studies in the mail.
It has been a mystery why Tom has not recovered more quickly from his illness, but God has a bigger plan. One soul is worth whatever it takes, and Diego would not have been in Tom’s life had he not needed that walker.
The Bible tells us to be thankful in all things.

1 Thessalonians 5:18
In every thing give thanks:for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.

Thank You Lord

November 6, 2014

Many of you may know the song “Thank You Lord For Saving My Soul” as a chorus sung usually by children in Sunday School, but the song has great verses also. Think about what you are thankful for as you read the verses:

Some thank the Lord for friends and home
Some thank the Lord for friends and home
For mercies sure and sweet
But I would praise Him for his grace
In prayer I would repeat

Refrain:
Thank you, Lord, for saving my soul
Thank you, Lord, for making me whole
Thank you, Lord, for giving to me
Thy great salvation so rich and free

Some thank Him for the flow’rs that grow
Some for the stars that shine
My heart is filled with joy and praise
Because I know He’s mine

I trust in Him from day to day
I prove His saving grace
I’ll sing this song of praise to Him
Until I see His face
By Seth and Bessie Sykes

2 Corinthians 9:15
Thanks be unto God for his unspeakable gift.

Colossians 3:15

Do Something, Vote

November 4, 2014

Today is Election Day in the USA. You can do something to exercise your rights as a citizen of our country. VOTE. Many people, even those who may read this do not have the freedom we in America have. Our forefathers fought for our freedom and came to America FOR religious freedom. (Not from religion)
Give thanks to God and do something, vote. Think about what God has given to us and be thankful we still have the privilege to go to the polls and voice our opinion through our vote. One vote can make the difference.

Colossians 3:17
And whatsoever ye do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God and the Father by him.

Freedom to Vote

November 3, 2014

If you are a citizen of the USA, you have something wonderful to be thankful for, FREEDOM. Tomorrow is Election Day. It is your duty and privilege to vote for the candidate that you feel will do the best job of running the government.
Also, in several states there are important amendments that could change your way of life. Today do some research and tomorrow get out and vote.
Our freedom was and is not free. “The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is that good men do nothing.” Do something. VOTE!

Worry Less

November 2, 2014

“We would worry less if we praised more. Thanksgiving is the enemy of discontent and dissatisfaction.”
Harry Ironsides, American Preacher

November is the time Americans celebrate Thanksgiving. This month the blog will focus on the many ways we should be thankful. The Bible talks about giving thanks in everything. God has blessed us in so many ways.
Most of all our thanks should be to God for sending His Son, Jesus, to die on the cross for our sins. But it did not end there, He rose again. We know we can be saved and on our way to Heaven. Repent, believe and receive JESUS today and then thank Him for salvation.

2 Corinthians 9:15
Thanks be unto God for his unspeakable gift.

Candy and the Gospel

November 1, 2014

Diana is on staff at the home office of SOS. She is our office manager, secretary of our Board of Directors, trainer and most of all an avid soul winner.
Every year on Halloween she sets up a booth in her yard for the many Trick or Treaters that come to her house for candy. She gives them more than candy they seek. She gives them the Gospel. Last night 5 young people made decisions for salvation and several more children and parents received a Bible tracts.
Diana uses every opportunity given to present the plan of salvation to the lost.

Romans 1:16
For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ:for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.
