The First Day of the Week

November 8, 2015

Sunday, the first day of the week, Jesus came to the disciples and said, “Peace be unto you.” May today, the first day of this week and all week long, bring you the peace that only Jesus can give.

John 20:19  Then the same day at evening, being the first day of the week, when the doors were shut where the disciples were assembled for fear of the Jews, came Jesus and stood in the midst, and saith unto them, Peace be unto you.

Friend Request

November 5, 2015

Funny church sign…..

Revelation 3:20  Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me.

Prayer Appreciated

October 19, 2015

Two of SOS Events personnel are having surgery today. Tom Curtis, founder and President of the ministry, for bypass in his legs to get better circulation to his feet and David Dow, display maker and maintenance man, for cataracts.

Both would appreciate your prayers. Pray specifically for wisdom for the surgeons, successful operations and quick recovery for both men.

Modern technology is wonderful but we know who the Great Healer is, Jesus.

We will have an update tomorrow and thank you for your prayers.

Matthew 15:30 And great multitudes came unto him, having with them those that were lame, blind, dumb, maimed, and many others, and cast them down at Jesus’ feet; and he healed them:

What Are You Living For?

October 17, 2015

“Are the things you are living for…worth Christ dying for?” Adrian Rogers

Recently in conversation, several people have said they need to get rid of “stuff” they have accumulated over the years. It is so easy to allow small things to overtake space in our homes or even our workplace.

What about the “suff” we allow to overtake our hearts and minds? Bad habits, little sins, unforgiveness, anger, sinful movies or tv, anything not pleasing to God. Just like we need to clean out our homes we need to clean out our hearts.

Jesus died for all our sins and He is the heart cleaner. If you are a Christian, ask for His forgiveness and allow Him through the Holy Spirit to take away the “stuff” in your life.

If you have never become a Christian, the first thing is to admit to Jesus your sin, ask Him to forgive you. Jesus died on the cross, shead His precious blood so you could be saved, then He rose again on the third day. If you believe that with all your heart and invite Him to be your Savior, He promises that your sins will be forgiven.

Ephesians 4:31-32  Let all bitterness, and wrath, and anger, and clamour, and evil speaking, be put away from you, with all malice: And be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ’s sake hath forgiven you.

JESUS, Every Knee Shall Bow

October 10, 2015

Yesterday, Octorber 9, in a major retail store a large display of Christmas trees, decorations and gifts were displayed. The commercialism for a special Holiday commemorating Jesus birth has been turned into a money making event and the worst part of it all is the name JESUS can not even be spoken in public.

His name, the Bible and any form of Christianity has been ridiculed and denounced by our government because of the “rights” of other religions (or lack of any religion). What happened to our Nation that was founded on the principles in the Bible? Freedom OF religion, not freedom From religion.

The Bible tells us that every knee shall one day bow to Jesus, the One who shed His blood that we may have eternal life. Let us who are Christians honor Him by telling others about Him and change the lives of people one person at a time.

Philippians 2:10-11 That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth; And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.

Tell Me The Story Of Jesus

September 17, 2015

Tell me the story of Jesus.
Write on my heart every word.
Tell me the story most precious.

Sweetest that ever was heard.

Tell how the angels in chorus,

Saying as they welcomed His birth.

Glory to God in the highest!

Peace and good tidings to earth.

Refrain:

Tell me the story of Jesus camera

Write on my heart every word.

Tell me the story most precious.

Sweetest that ever was heard.

Fanny Crosby

We should go and tell everyone about the story of Jesus. If you have not heard this old song listen to it on U Tube.

Mark 5:19 Howbeit Jesus suffered him not, but saith unto him, Go home to thy friends, and tell them how great things the Lord hath done for thee, and hath had compassion on thee.

Blessed Assurance

September 8, 2015

Blessed assurance, Jesus is mine!Oh, what a foretaste of glory divine!

Heir of salvation, purchase of God,

Born of His Spirit, washed in His blood.

Refrain:

This is my story, this is my song,

Praising my Savior all the day long;

This is my story, this is my song,

Praising my Savior all the day long.

Perfect submission, perfect delight,

Visions of rapture now burst on my sight;

Angels, descending, bring from above

Echoes of mercy, whispers of love.

Perfect submission, all is at rest,

I in my Savior am happy and blest,

Watching and waiting, looking above,

Filled with His goodness, lost in His love.

Fanny Crosby 1873

Fanny Crosby was blind physically but not spiritually. She had faith and full assurance in the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus Christ to save her and wrote many hymns in her lifetime that are still sung and are a blessing to many over 100 years later.

Our prayer is that you who are reading this have the same assurance of the forgiveness that can be yours through faith in Jesus. It is as simple as admitting you have sinned, believing that He paid for your sins, asking Him to forgive you and change your life. He will come into your life and your life will change as you grow in the knowledge and understanding of His Word.

Hebrews 10:22 Let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience, and our bodies washed with pure water.

Jesus Is God

August 30, 2015

There is only one God, forever existent in three persons: Father, Son and the Holy Spirit.
The deity of our LORD Jesus Christ; His virgin birth; His sinless life; His miracles; His atoning death; His shed blood: His bodily resurrection; His ascension into Heaven and His personal return.

John 14:7 & 9  If ye had known me, ye should have known my Father also: and from henceforth ye know him, and have seen him. Jesus saith unto him, Have I been so long time with you, and yet hast thou not known me, Philip? he that hath seen me hath seen the Father; and how sayest thou then, Shew us the Father?

Stress

August 20, 2015

“Dear stress, Let’s break up!” Is a funny saying that was seen on a sign recently.

Are you stressed in this busy life we lead?

The Bible says to cast our care upon Jesus. He will give you inner peace that passes all understanding.

A time everyday, preferably in the morning, to read your Bible and pray is a good way to overcome stress in your life. When things seem to be beyond your control that scripture you read, or a verse you memorized will come to mind and peace will calm your worries and fears.

1 Peter 5:7 Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you.

Heaven is Home

August 15, 2015

Coming home from a long trip is a great joy. The thought is going through my mind, I will soon be there and the excitement grows, around the next turn and I’m almost there. The first look at the yard, it’s beautiful. Going in the front door, a wonderful peace comes over me and the best thing of all my true love is there welcoming me with open arms. This is an example of an earthly homecoming.

But wait, we have an even more joyous homecoming, Heaven! We will soon be there, excitement grows,in a short time we will be there. What will be the first thing we see? Beauty. Peace. The best thing of all we will see our true love The Lord Jesus, waiting for us with open arms.

Is He your true love? Are you looking for the time when you will be going “Home”?

Philippians 3:20 For our conversation is in heaven; from whence also we look for the Saviour, the Lord Jesus Christ.
