What Jesus Does!

Are You Ready?
January 28, 2021Today in our world there is a great lack of true wisdom. We see politicians make decisions that effect all of us but they don’t want these decisions to pertain to themselves.
Some police officers believe they are above the law but are quick to make the average citizen obey whatever they say.
Teachers who take advantage of students, etc., we could go on and on, but the main problem is that we have allowed the lawmakers to take God out of our society.
We need wisdom in our homes, our cities, counties and nation.
Today’s post is one that was written four years ago and unfortunately nothing has changed. In fact things are getting worse. The Bible does predict that things will get worse before Jesus returns. Are you ready for His return?

Looking For Something?
January 22, 2021
Maybe you are looking for love, success, peace, happiness or contentment and it seems to be out of your reach.
There is a place you can find all of these things and more.
It is not really a place, it’s a person, The Lord Jesus Christ. A relationship with Him will satisfy your needs no matter what the circumstances.
Start looking in the right direction.
Matthew 6:33 – But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.
Lamentations 3:25 – The LORD [is] good unto them that wait for him, to the soul [that] seeketh him.

The Weather
January 6, 2021
One thing we all have in common, the weather. Wherever you live, north, south, east or west, our days are somewhat controlled by weather.
Some love the cold of winter, you may dislike it, some people love the heat of summer and others hate to be hot.
Whatever, climate we live in, we find something to talk about to others. The weather. We may complain about the cold or heat and only on rare occasions would we say what a beautiful day!
Another thing we all have in common is our need for forgiveness for our sins. It would be wonderful if we would talk freely to others about Jesus and His death, burial and resurrection. He is the answer to our biggest need, no matter what the weather is in the world.
Let us talk about Him as freely as we talk about the weather.
Luke 8:23–25 But as they sailed he fell asleep: and there came down a storm of wind on the lake; and they were filled with water, and were in jeopardy. And they came to him, and awoke him, saying, Master, master, we perish. Then he arose, and rebuked the wind and the raging of the water: and they ceased, and there was a calm. And he said unto them, Where is your faith? And they being afraid wondered, saying one to another, What manner of man is this! for he commandeth even the winds and water, and they obey him.
Recipe For A Good Day
January 2, 2021
The second day of a new year. Every day is an opportunity to draw closer to Jesus.
It is a good time to start daily communication with God with Bible reading and prayer. Take time for God to speak to you as you meditate on what you have read.
The best time is when you first get up. Your day will go better if it is started with Jesus.
Happy New Year
January 1, 2021
Isaiah 43:18&19 Remember ye not the former things, neither consider the things of old. Behold, I will do a new thing; now it shall spring forth; shall ye not know it? I will even make a way in the wilderness, and rivers in the desert.”
2020 was a hard year for everyone all over the world. Let us put the past year behind and look forward to a better New Year that is free from illness, fighting and unrest.
We can accomplish this in our personal lives by trusting in Jesus and God’s promises.
Joseph’s Warning
December 29, 2020
After the wise men’s visit, Joseph was warned in a dream to take Jesus and Mary and flee to Egypt. Herod was seeking to kill Jesus and not getting a report back from the wise men he had all the young children in Bethlehem killed. But Jesus was safe and the little family stayed in Egypt until Herod was dead.
Then once again Joseph had a dream and returned but went to live in Nazareth where Jesus grew from childhood until He started His earthly ministry.
God’s Word is true. Every prophesy concerning Jesus birth was fulfilled down to the last detail. Many people leave Jesus in the manger as a baby but do not believe future events also predicted in the Bible. Jesus is the Messiah, He did die on the cross and He is coming again to rule and reign over all the world. Are you ready for a great future with Jesus the coming King?
Matthew 2:13-15 And when they were departed, behold, the angel of the Lord appeareth to Joseph in a dream, saying, Arise, and take the young child and his mother, and flee into Egypt, and be thou there until I bring thee word: for Herod will seek the young child to destroy him. When he arose, he took the young child and his mother by night, and departed into Egypt: And was there until the death of Herod: that it might be fulfilled which was spoken of the Lord by the prophet, saying, Out of Egypt have I called my son.
Simeon With Baby Jesus In The Temple
December 26, 2020
The Christmas story did not end with the birth of Jesus. That was just the beginning. The Bible records little about baby Jesus. We know He was taken to the temple to be dedicated to the Lord when Mary’s time of purification was over as the law of Moses commanded. A sacrifice of a pair of turtle doves or two young pigeons.
While at the temple Mary and Joseph met two people. Today we will talk about Simeon. He was righteous and devout and was eagerly waiting for the Messiah to come and rescue Israel. The Holy Spirit was upon him and had revealed to him that he would not die until he had seen the Lord’s Messiah. That day the Spirit led him to the Temple. So when Mary and Joseph came to present the baby Jesus to the Lord as the law required, Simeon was there. He took the child in his arms and praised God, saying,
Lord, now lettest thou thy servant depart in peace, according to thy word: For mine eyes have seen thy salvation, Which thou hast prepared before the face of all people; A light to lighten the Gentiles, and the glory of thy people Israel. Luke 2:29-32
