Never Alone

October 12, 2014

Sometimes in life we feel like we go one step forward and two steps back. God never promised the Christian an easy life but He did promise to go with us through every trial. When we accept Jesus as our Savior we receive the Holy Spirit who is our Comforter. Be encouraged, we are never alone or forsaken.

John 14:16
And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever;

What If?

Yesterday is past but did you thank God for yesterday’s blessings?
At the end of the day we were able to thank the Lord for the fellowship of family, God’s creation as we watched hummingbirds, chickadees, cardinals, and raccoons all from our porch.
Today is a new day. Look for the blessings of this day even if it is just a small blessing.
In times of trials in life, the blessings of God are always there if we open our eyes to look for them.
If you need a blessing today and want prayer email: tom@sosevents.org.

1 Thessalonians 5:18
In every thing give thanks:for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.

At Calvary

October 10, 2014

William R. Newell was the author of the hymn At Calvary. He was A rebellious teenager and his father did not know what to do with his son who was so wayward.
In desperation he contacted the president of Moody Bible Institute in Chicago, begging that William would be allowed to attend. The president was hesitant to allow him to be enrolled but finally decided that if William would meet with him everyday and study diligently he would be accepted into the college.
William stumbled may times but his Father’s prayers, the college president’s commitment and faith in Jesus resulted in a changed life in William. He wrote the hymn At Calvary in poetry form as a testimony of his life.
William R. Newell (1868-1956) is remembered fondly as a pastor, evangelist, Bible teacher, author, conference speaker and writer. And he is remembered as a humble man who recognized that it was only by the grace of God that he was able to accomplish so many things.

At Calvary
Years I spent in vanity and pride,
Caring not my Lord was crucified,
Knowing not it was for me He died on Calvary.
Mercy there was great, and grace was free;
Pardon there was multiplied to me;
There my burdened soul found liberty at Calvary.
By God’s Word at last my sin I learned;
Then I trembled at the law I’d spurned,
Till my guilty soul imploring turned to Calvary.
Now I’ve given to Jesus everything,
Now I gladly own Him as my King,
Now my raptured soul can only sing of Calvary!
Oh, the love that drew salvation’s plan!
Oh, the grace that brought it down to man!
Oh, the mighty gulf that God did span at Calvary!

And when they were come to the place, which is called Calvary, there they crucified him. Luke 23:33

Faces of Joy

October 9, 2014

This is a photo of Randy with one of the two young Hispanic men who were saved yesterday, Wednesday, at the Plant City, Florida Farmers Market.
The joy on both faces is a wonderful thing to see. It is a joy to win someone to the Lord, and the one who receives Salvation is also joyful.
This young man said, “I am now 100% sure I am on the way to heaven because I took Jesus as my Savior.”

1 John 5:13
These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God.

October

October 8, 2014

October is a very busy month for SOS Events and our staff, trainers and workers at events and we need prayer. Alabama National Fair, Talladega Race in AL, Harvest Hayride in NJ, Rodeo in FL, several Halloween events nationwide, plus the weekly Flea Markets and monthly Car Show.
Our workers get tired and they do more than double duty this time of year.
Also, the devil does not like soul winning so he will try all kinds of tactics to keep our workers occupied with other things.
More laborers are needed in all areas.
You are invited everyday to call Tom at (813)784-8242 and that invitation is open today, but if you are a person that knows how to pray please remember SOS laborers this month especially. Thank you and may God richly bless you.

Luke 10:2
Therefore said he unto them, The harvest truly is great, but the labourers are few:pray ye therefore the Lord of the harvest, that he would send forth labourers into his harvest.

SOS has been active in NJ for the past 10 years and the dedicated team has led hundreds of souls to the Lord.
One of their biggest events is coming up the end of this month. Harvest Hayride in Hamilton, NJ draws so many people, that now people need a ticket to attend. Everything is Free. If you live in the area, you can get more information from Faith Baptist Church. (609)585-9186.
Every year, there are many souls saved at Harvest Hayride.

2 Thessalonians 3:1
Finally, brethren, pray for us, that the word of the Lord may have free course, and be glorified, even as it is with you:

Everything to Jesus

October 5, 2014

“I gave everything to Jesus.”
Testimony of a 12 year old girl that was saved at the Flea Market yesterday.
Many times the insight of children surpasses those of adults when they first make a decision to follow Christ. The Lord wants us to give everything to Him.

Matthew 22:37
Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind.

Need Strength?

October 4, 2014

If you are overwhelmed and today your strength is small, remember that Jesus is waiting to help you.

2 Corinthians 12:9
And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee:for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me.
