In the beginning God created the Heaven and the earth and everything in it.
God speaks to us through His creation. A sunrise or sunset, the sky at night, a beautiful flower or the birth of a newborn baby.
Even the unbeliever can look at what God created and see His handy work. Then knowledge begins to dawn on him that there is God. That is the first step toward salvation.
One of my favorite salvation stories is when a man brought his beer in one hand and his cigarette in the other hand into the booth to find out about the “3 things God cannot do.”
The Holy Spirit led him to accept Christ as His Lord and Savior for the very first time that day. After he prayed he said (matter-of-factly): “You know, I’ve been thinking about not drinking as much.”
The soulwinner replied, “I like sweet tea. It’s pretty good.”
Love that there is no condemnation for those who are in Christ and how God immediately works through the Holy Spirit to change our hearts once we give them to Him. You don’t have to change and get all dressed up to come to God. Come to God and He’ll do all the changing needed.
NOTE: This guy was NOT drunk. We do not give the gospel presentation to anyone who appears to be mentally/physically/emotionally unable to understand the gospel presentation. Just give them tracts and pray for them.
2 Corinthians 5:17 Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.
There may be reasons you can’t go to church today. Illness, work or weather may prevent you from being in church. Many places in the Northern United States have cancelled church today because of snow, ice and dangerous driving conditions. If you cannot go use this time to gather round your family and read the Bible and pray together. If your are alone what a great opportunity to fellowship with the Lord without distractions.
Some people have not attended church service for months because of coronavirus. There are many opportunities for you to worship virtually. Do not neglect time to worship, not just on Sunday but everyday of the week.
Psalms 29:2 Give unto the Lord the glory due unto his name; worship the Lord in the beauty of holiness.
In one of the worst times in my life, this verse and song got me through that difficult time.
I made a decision to find something to rejoice about, even if it was as small as being able to get out of bed and brush my hair or seeing a butterfly land on a flower.
God gave me things to be thankful for and He brought joy back into my life, one day at a time.
Today, as I look out my window and watch the sun rise, I rejoice in the day the Lord has made.
Today in our world there is a great lack of true wisdom. We see politicians make decisions that effect all of us but they don’t want these decisions to pertain to themselves.
Some police officers believe they are above the law but are quick to make the average citizen obey whatever they say.
Teachers who take advantage of students, etc., we could go on and on, but the main problem is that we have allowed the lawmakers to take God out of our society.
We need wisdom in our homes, our cities, counties and nation.
Today’s post is one that was written four years ago and unfortunately nothing has changed. In fact things are getting worse. The Bible does predict that things will get worse before Jesus returns. Are you ready for His return?
