Do you have a neighbor or a family member that is not very lovable? Sometimes certain people are hard to love. Love is a choice. One thing that helps us to love the unlovable is prayer and forgiveness. Pray for that person, not just once but daily. Not that the Lord will bring something bad on them but that God will give YOU the love of Christ for that person. It works. It is hard to harbor ill feelings toward a person you are praying for.
Matthew 5:44 But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you;

August 23, 2017Have you heard the expression “Be careful what you pray for”. God answers prayer specifically. Sometimes we ask for something small when He could have given you something more. This is an example that happened at an SOS Events booth recently. Nothing was happening. No one wanted to stop by to see the “3 Things God Can Not Do”. All through the event the soul winner prayed, “One, Lord, just give us one.” The event was about to end after 4 hours and one young man came over to check things out. He wanted to be saved and in just a few minutes he called upon Jesus to be his Savior. The event ended with JUST ONE! God wanted to show us something. Never again at an event will we pray for just one when God wants to see many people saved.

Eclipse
August 21, 2017Once every 18 months a complete total eclipse occurs somewhere in the world. Today in the northern USA this wonderful natural event will take place this afternoon. From Georgia northward schools are closing, highways are crowded with people traveling to get a better position to see this unusual sight. Any beautiful occurrence or wonderful thing in the heavens or on the earth reminds us of one thing that the Bible, God’s Holy Word tells us in the very first verse:
Genesis 1:1 In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.
Happiness or Joy?
August 16, 2017The definition of happy in Webster’s Dictionary: feeling pleasure and enjoyment because of your life, situation, etc. Happiness depends on what is happening around you, so if the situation changes it can be lost.
Joy according to Webster : a source or cause of great happiness : something or someone that gives joy to someone True joy is inward, a gift given to the Christian by God. Joy continues through all circumstances and does not depend on what is happening around you and it is permanent.
Psalms 16:11 Thou wilt shew me the path of life: in thy presence is fulness of joy; at thy right hand there are pleasures for evermore.
Hang in There

Have you ever felt like you are hanging on with no help in sight? Whatever the trial or situation that makes you feel that way, there is good news for you as a Christian. We have a someone who is right there with us. His name is Jesus. He is the One who will save us. Our helper, deliverer and friend. Call out to Him in prayer.

July 16, 2017As you worship today, let us not go to church because it is a habit or something that is expected of us. Let us go to worship God in spirit and in truth. To many times we think of the music, what our friends are wearing, how long the service seems to be or many other distractions. Go with pure love and thankfulness to Jesus for all He has done for us.

Take Down A Wall
July 13, 2017Can a problem ever be good? Yes, when The space you have is too small for workers at SOS Events ministry. Our faithful Senior Servants come once a month to help us get out our newsletter. The group gets larger every month for which we are very thankful. The solution is to take down a wall to enlarge the space. It reminds me that sometimes we have a wall in our heart that may keep blessings out of our lives. It may be a relationship with a family member or friend. It may be some sin that is keeping us from our fellowship with God. If you have put up a wall that needs to be torn down, do it. You will be amazed that your problem has turned into a blessing.

Monday Morning
July 10, 2017A new beginning of the work week for many people. Some love the thought of going to work, as it is pleasurable to them. Others are unhappy because they hate their job but have to work. Some are not working and would love to be able to go to work. Maybe illness, loss of job or circumstances keep them from working. Then there are vacations this time of year and this week is full of plans for family, fun and adventure. Whatever your day brings forth one thing to remember, this is the day that the Lord made, we are to be glad and rejoice in it.
Philippians 4:4 Rejoice in the Lord alway: and again I say, Rejoice.
