The Bible says not to build upon sand. In the part of Florida where the SOS Events Office is located most of the soil is sand, causing us a problem, The office is made up of two job trailers that are connected together by a wooden platform. The back trailer contains Carolyn’s office and a work room for the machines that print the vinyl for the sign displays. Because there is a slight hill and recent rains have caused some erosion, that trailer is tipping. It is going to have to be leveled by a professional company as soon as possible. Please pray today that they can get here quickly and inexpensively. Until we can get it fixed it’s unsafe to be in that trailer. We need that trailer secured so we can finish projects for many upcoming events. Also, there has been some interior damage as the walls are buckling and so repairs will have to be made, which will also take time and money. We are thankful our spiritual house is built upon the Rock, Jesus. Thank you for your prayers.
Matthew 7:24 Therefore whosoever heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them, I will liken him unto a wise man, which built his house upon a rock:

Today is Sunday and your Pastor needs prayer. Please do not bother him before service with problems or things he needs to deal with. If you speak with him encourage him. Be faithful to church and give of your time and finances. Write him a note of appreciation. Tell him about the good things his children are doing, but if they need discipline tell him after the Sunday service or better yet wait until tomorrow. Do not go to his wife and complain to her about her husband and expect her to fix him. You want your pastor to be used of God to speak to your heart. Do not get upset if he steps on your toes during a sermon, it is the Holy Spirit convicting you. Remember, the visitor in your church may need to be saved and we show God’s love by our love one for another.
Philippians 2:2 Fulfil ye my joy, that ye be likeminded, having the same love, being of one accord, of one mind.

Many people are having problems with being sick this time of the year, especially in the southern USA. The drastic change in weather is probably a factor. The best thing to do if you or your family or friends are ill is to pray. Moms have an especially hard job to care for sick children and they need prayer and a helping hand would be a blessing. Adults who are ill please take care of yourself, rest and pray. The old remedy is chicken soup. Maybe not scientific but it sure makes one feel better. Our prayer for you is to get well soon and trust in the Lord for a quick recovery.
James 5:16 Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much.

Friday and Saturday there was a most unusual event that SOS Events has ever participated in. Monterey Baptist Church in Orlando invited us to come and share in their soul winning event. While several vans and cars full of soul winners went out to witness at apartment complexes, we set up our displays in the front yard of the church waiting for people to pass by. This is not our usual venue, however, a few people did walk past. At the end of the 2 days there were eight Salvations. These people are within walking distance of the church. Praying that today they will attend the Sunday services of this growing church.
Psalms 122:1 I was glad when they said unto me, Let us go into the house of the Lord.

Many people will be celebrating New Year’s Eve tonight drinking, going to parties, etc., only to start the New Year with a headache and hangover. We can start our New Year with a clean heart. Christians take time this evening to pray for forgiveness for the unconfessed sins that we have committed. If you have never accepted Jesus as your Savior there is no better way to start a new year than becoming a new person in Christ. Happy New Year. May 2018 bring you and your loved ones peace and joy that only the Lord can give.
2 Corinthians 5:17 Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.

Looking forward to the New Year is exciting for some and discouraging for others. Many people of all ages have real concerns about the future. Young adults who are single are wondering if they will find the right person to marry. Jobs are uncertain and they do not know what the future will bring. The young married couples face problems of child rearing to be overwhelming at times or maybe making decisions on having a family at all. Middle age brings different kind of trials. Many have children still at home, grandchildren coming along and possibly elderly parents that need care. Then the elderly may have health problems, financial concerns and fears about death. All of these people have genuine concerns, and without proper guidance the future may look grim. BUT, the answer to all of these uncertainties is in One person, the Lord Jesus. He is the answer. He told us to cast our care upon Him. Total trust in Jesus will bring peace and encouragement no matter what our age or circumstance. He will answer prayer and bring into our life what is best or us.
1 Peter 5:7 Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you.

While many of us are preparing for a joyous Christmas Season, there are also many around us who are really hurting. For some it may be Christmas without someone they love who has died, for others it may be illness of a spouse or child that may end in death and then there are those people who are ill themselves or are lonely because they have no family or close friends. We need to look around and have compassion on those hurting people. A phone call, text message, card, visit or invitation to share your festivities may be just the thing that will help them get through the holiday season. And always keep them in your prayers. As Christians we need to love one another as Jesus commanded.
John 15:12 This is my commandment, That ye love one another, as I have loved you.
