Have you ever lost your car keys? You look everywhere and you just can’t remember where you left them. Then you find them. What a wonderful feeling. You are so happy.
There are many stories in the Bible about things that are lost.
God tells us through these stories that we are lost until we find Jesus is our Savior. Even the angels in heaven rejoice when we ask for Jesus to forgive our sin and invite Him into our lives.
Luke 15:8-10 Either what woman having ten pieces of silver, if she lose one piece, doth not light a candle, and sweep the house, and seek diligently till she find it? And when she hath found it, she calleth her friends and her neighbours together, saying, Rejoice with me; for I have found the piece which I had lost. Likewise, I say unto you, there is joy in the presence of the angels of God over one sinner that repenteth
Romans 10:9 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.
Several people from all over the world are responding to the SOS Events blog. Today these verses are for those who are looking for salvation.
Christians pray with me that God’s Word will touch their hearts and they will be saved.
Do you get tired of waiting? Waiting for answer to a prayer. Waiting to get a job. Waiting for coronavirus to go away. Waiting to see family and friends. Waiting to feel better.
There are many times in our lives we wait. Usually impatiently. But, God tells us to wait on Him and He will bring it to pass in His timing.
God knows what is best for us and when it is best for us. Today while you are waiting for whatever, take the time to draw closer to God. His blessing is just around the corner.
Sometimes we get discouraged, especially in this time of uncertainty. We live in a troubled world. Unrest, illness, politics, finances and many other things that may be bothering you.
God’s Word is full of encouragement. He tells us to keep on helping others. We can overcome our discouragement by doing things for someone else.
Love the Lord with all your heart and love your neighbor as yourself. Let us not be weary, but keep on and we will reap. Joy and contentment can be ours in this troubled time.
God sent the Holy Spirit to give us the power to witness and win souls. With most events closed due to the coronavirus, we need to be more diligent to look for opportunities to witness.
It is not the command to the pastor in the church. It is not a time for ministries like SOS Events to forget about soul winning.
God expects all Christians to be a witness for Him. Are you using the power God gave you?
Thinking of something to encourage those who read this blog, I chose a book on hymns, “Then Sings My Soul” by Robert J. Morgan. He wrote a forward “The Cure For Shot Nerves”. Thinking that is a catchy title, I read what he wrote about how the old hymns can calm the spirit and help bring peace to the soul.
It is rare in some churches to even hear the old hymns anymore and that is sad. “In the Garden” He walks with me/ and He talks with me/ and tells me I am His own. “Jesus Loves Me”, “Amazing Grace”, “I Need Thee Every Hour” and many more that encourage the heart.
Today, if you are stressed, feeling overwhelmed, or just plan discouraged, think of your favorite hymn and sing it, hum it or just let it flood your mind with how good God is, and soon you will find the comfort you need.
Do you feel like you have many “nevers” in your life?
This coronavirus will never be over.
I will never find a job.
This loneliness will never go away.
God never answers my prayers.
Good news. Read this Bible verse. One of many in God’s Word that gives us precious promises and hope. God is faithful. Will NEVER leave us or forsake us. Just trust Him and He will answer in His perfect timing.
