Jimmy Dean Days – Fairmount Indiana
September 30, 2008Tom and Carolyn Curtis trained a church this past week, and lead them in serving in the Lord’s harvest in Fairmont Indiana this past weekend. The Jimmy Dean Days is an annual event in this Indiana community. The Curtis’ and other church workers witness 139 decisions for Christ. These new Christians were from 32 different cities and 3 States. In my conversation with Tom today, he shared that the harvest could have been as high as 400 if there had been more workers. I have to admit, I was so amazed at the different stories Tom was sharing today, I was not able to get more details on paper. However, I pray he and Carolyn will post here sometime soon, and share more. PTL! The numbers are of course secondary to the actual lives and stories witnessed by those saved at the event. Glory Glory to the Lord Jesus Christ!
WPOS FM Radio in Toledo Interview
July 29, 2008July 22, 2008 – Morning DayBreak host Jake Sammons interviews Tom and Carolyn Curtis. This is a great overview, including Tom’s personal testimony, description of the ministry work, and what they see as the most effective strategies and tactics today. Every church should listen to this revealing, and astoundingly simple message. Our hats off to all those at WPOS FM 102.3 in Holland, Ohio, especially Jake Sammons. I tuned in early (before 8:AM) Wednesday morning to make sure I didn’t miss the interview. The programming, and message was great. Here is a recording of the interview; click here to WPOS FM 102.3 DayBreak show – July 22, 2008
Tom and Carolyn Curtis in Indiana
July 28, 2008Tom and Carolyn having left the Toledo Ohio area, are now visiting churches and leading others into a new beginning relationship with Christ Jesus, in Indiana. I spoke with Tom this morning and include a recording of that call. Tom’s many words of wisdom also include his sharing about the three sisters accepting Jesus Christ as their personal savior in a Wal-Mart parking lot. Tom also shares a prayer request. Click Here for Audio
Christ Jesus calls all of us to be witnesses, and gives each and every one of us a minsitry of reconciliation. Tom shares a little about being called; he is now 71 and knows age is not a qualifier, young or old. Be encouraged, as we are, in kowing our Lord did not intend there to be anything difficult about sharing His love, and message of reconciliation.
Summer Road Trip (update)

SOS Leaders Review 1st Year with SOS Events
November 26, 2007Don and Shirley Riegel recount their first year (2007) with SOS Events ministry.
“We worked at the Strawberry Festival last March to prepare to work by ourselves (without the Curtis’s help). We did four more events alone in MN, MT, OH, and PA. We saw a total of 225 decisions for Christ and trained 39 workers at the four events. Some of those workers led their first person to Christ. Most of the workers are dedicated to sharing their faith now on a more regular basis. We praise the Lord for the opportunity to be involved in this ministry of training soul winners. Pray for us as we see where He will direct our paths next year. We truly enjoy this work and rejoice in doing it.”
Don and Shirley reside in Perrysburg, Ohio.
Harrison Rally Day PA.
September 19, 2007We had an awesome day Saturday here with Harrison Rally Day. There were 38 first time decisions, 2 for assurance and 2 other. We trained 31 and had 10 at the booth Saturday.
Don Riegel
Riegel’s Report
August 26, 2007
We have just returned from a fantastic trip to teach churches in Minnesota and Montana the 3 Things God Can Not Do.
The drive through the Western states was BEAUTIFUL…flat plains of grazing animals and hearty sugar beets, wheat and corn, and desolate areas with interesting tall sandy hills and rocky mountains in the background, ranch and farm houses surrounded by trees for protection from the strong winds…we even saw a small herd of buffalo.
Our first time being all on our own was a little frightening, but our awesome God took all the nervous anticipation away as we explained the presentation and fun that the participants would be experiencing at their event…. in Rushmore, MN a 4 day “Rushford Days” celebration and in Sidney, MT a 4 day county fair. Rushford is a village of 1700 population where we saw 75 decisions to trust Christ. Sidney has over 4000 population. We saw over 100 decisions to trust Christ with at least one person leading her first person(s) (brother and sister) to Christ.
We have a policy that children must get their parents’ permission before we proceed with the child in the salvation portion. A young boy wasn’t sure he would go to heaven but wanted to be. We told him to get his parents. We asked the parents if they were sure that they would go to heaven. They weren’t but wanted to be. Dad, Mom and son prayed to receive Christ. We got their names and addresses (as we do with everyone) so that the church could be able to follow up with them to disciple them.
Don was presenting the “Three Things” to a young man. Don asked, “Do you love God?” Jon said, “I’m an atheist. I don’t believe in God.” Don continued and finished with “Now are you 50%, 75 or 100% sure that you will go to heaven?” Jon said, “I’m 100% sure……that I’ll go to hell”. Don asked, “Is that what you want?” Jon answered, “No!” Don asked, “Can I pray for you?” Jon: ”Yes!” We prayed. Pastor Paul is arranging to have a pastor in Bozeman (MT) follow up with Jon. This is how it works. PTL!!!!!
The churches had good turnouts for the training and good participation at the events. It was heart warming and exciting for us to see them grow from timid learners to enthusiastic presenters of the 3 Things at the events. It was especially thrilling for the soul winners at the events to see people come to the Lord for the first time, or to have assurance that they would go to Heaven one day.
It was hard to leave these dear people who had been so kind and generous to us. We praise the Lord for safe travel and good stops on the way.
Serving Our Savior,
Don and Shirley Riegel
