Peace of God

October 6, 2015

“Don’t let the noise of the world drown out the peace of God’s Love.”

If you watch the news on TV, listen to the radio, or read the newspaper you know that the world is in chaos. The Bible tells us that we can have peace and joy no matter what the circumstance.

The secret of peace is to know God, read his word every day and trust him completely.

Philippians 4:7 And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.

Positive or Negative?

October 3, 2015

Are you positive or negative?
“Positive: thinking about the good qualities of someone or something: thinking that a good result will happen: hopeful or optimistic.” Webster’s dictionary

“Negative: thinking about the bad qualities of someone or something: thinking that a bad result will happen: not hopeful or optimistic.” Webster’s dictionary

We are Christians and should be positive not negative. The Bible says that we are the light of the world. A flashlight is a good example, put a battery in a flashlight negative to negative and we are still in the dark. BUT put that battery in negative to positive and we have light.

There is a man who has severe health problems but never complains. He is always positive and makes everyone around him positive. Christians and unbelievers like to be around him because he gives them hope. Usually the nonbelievers become believers because of his good attitude.

Be a positive influence in our dark world today.

Matthew 5:14 Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid.

Prayers Answered

September 30, 2015

On Tuesdays the office staff of SOS Events has a short meeting to discuss the needs of the ministry and the personal prayer requests of the staff and others who may have called or emailed a prayer requests.

Yesterday, God answered two prayers within 3 hours of that meeting. Diana, our office manager, was concerned about her daughter Dana who has a busy schedule. Dana is in nursing school and has some tests scheduled for today and tomorrow. The concern was that the house Dana and her husband purchased did not close last week when it was scheduled and the closing kept getting changed. It seemed like it was going to interfere with Dana’s tests. Within two hours of the prayers in God’s perfect timing Dana called and the closing was before the day was out. Also, there were no classes yesterday. Perfect timing.

Tom, founder of SOS Events, has been praying for more opportunities to teach evangelism to students of all ages. The prayer request was brought before the Lord in our meeting and in the early afternoon a man, who Tom had only met briefly several years ago, came into the office and offered an opportunity to teach evangelism at a Bible Institute for the spring semester. There will be more about this awesome answer to prayer in the near future when the plans are finalized.

God answers prayer. He is there waiting for us to ask and delights in answering the prayers of His children.

Matthew 21:22 And all things, whatsoever ye shall ask in prayer, believing, ye shall receive.

God Has No Grandchildren

September 23, 2015

God does not have any grandchildren. God talks many times in the Bible about His children (people who had been born again). Nowhere in the entire Bible is the word grandchild mentioned.Every person who wants to go to Heaven must be born again. You cannot make that decision for anyone but yourself. That is why it is so important to win your family to Christ.

The Bible tells us to train up a child in the way he should go, maybe your children are grown and you have not won them to Christ yet. Maybe it is your parent, sibling or spouse. Never give up, pray for them, be a good example and trust the Holy Spirit to convict them.

At events many times someone, who comes into the SOS EVENTS booth to be saved, tells the soul winner that their mother, father or grandparents have been praying for them.

GOD Answers prayer. He is more interested in your family being saved then you are, so keep on trusting him for the results.

John 3:3 Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.

Blessings From Hispanic Pastor

September 16, 2015

Pastor Romero, brought 33 decision slips to SOS events office last evening. He is always so uplifting. When he prays for the ministry he always prays in Spanish. Most of us cannot speak or understand Spanish but when he prays the Holy Spirit gives us understanding of what he is praying for.

SOS events ministry is blessed to have many godly Hispanic people trained and working at fleamarkets every week winning people to the Lord.
1 Corinthians 14:26 How is it then, brethren? when ye come together, every one of you hath a psalm, hath a doctrine, hath a tongue, hath a revelation, hath an interpretation. Let all things be done unto edifying.

New Start

September 14, 2015

Monday for many of us it is the start of a new work week. Whatever this week brings into your life and whatever you have to do, do it for the Glory of God. There is a old saying, you may be the only Bible some people see.

Today, whether you are a student, teacher, doctor, lawyer, housewife or laborer, do your best and honor the Lord in everything. If you get an opportunity to witness or help someone it may be what you do or say will be what turns them to the saving knowledge of the Lord Jesus Christ.

2 Corinthians 4:6 For God, who commanded the light to shine out of darkness, hath shined in our hearts, to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ.

God Meant It For Good

September 2, 2015

Exodus 50:20 But as for you, ye thought evil against me; but God meant it unto good, to bring to pass, as it is this day, to save much people alive.

The story of Joseph recorded in the Bible is a great example of how God turns what seems like terrible trouble into something good. Joseph was thrown into a pit by his brothers and left for dead, falsely accused of a crime and thrown into prison, but God used his circumstances to save the nation of Israel from extinction.

Bad things happen to good people, but God uses difficult situations to bring about good to His children. Maybe it’s the loss of a job and you feel that you’ll never find anything better, but God then gives you the opportunity you have always wanted. Your house is foreclosed on and you have to move, then God gives you a home that far surpasses the one you lost. Someone you love dearly dies through tragic circumstances and God uses your loved ones death to bring you to salvation.

These examples are true testimonies of people that we know who are now serving the Lord with gladness. If you are going through a difficult time in your life right now, trust the Lord to take that situation and turn it around for good. Do not get discouraged, these things do not happen overnight but sometimes it takes months or even years to be fulfilled.

Gifts Fom Our Father

August 29, 2015

Praying is work. Have you ever been praying and your mind will wander to a different subject? Or not been able to get to sleep and decided to pray and in just a little while you have fallen asleep?

Prayer is the one weapon the that Satan does not want you to use. Prayer will give you answers to problems or decisions that you are unsure about. God delights in hearing from His children.

The most wonderful thing is that He is interested in the smallest things in our lives and He loves to have us ask for them. Need a parking place or want to have someone call you that you haven’t heard from in awhile? Then there it is.. the parking place right in front of the building. The phone rings and the person who you wanted to talk to is calling. Coincidence some people say. No, answer to prayer from a loving Father who loves His children, and likes to give good things to them.

Matthew 7:11 If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children, how much more shall your Father which is in heaven give good things to them that ask him?

Stress

August 20, 2015

“Dear stress, Let’s break up!” Is a funny saying that was seen on a sign recently.

Are you stressed in this busy life we lead?

The Bible says to cast our care upon Jesus. He will give you inner peace that passes all understanding.

A time everyday, preferably in the morning, to read your Bible and pray is a good way to overcome stress in your life. When things seem to be beyond your control that scripture you read, or a verse you memorized will come to mind and peace will calm your worries and fears.

1 Peter 5:7 Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you.

“Little Is Much When God Is In It

August 18, 2015

In the harvest field now ripenedThere’s a work for all to do;

Hark! the voice of God is calling

To the harvest calling you.

Refrain:
Little is much when God is in it!

Labor not for wealth or fame.

There’s a crown—and you can win it,

If you go in Jesus’ Name.

In the mad rush of the broad way,
In the hurry and the strife,

Tell of Jesus’ love and mercy,

Give to them the Word of Life.

Does the place you’re called to labor
Seem too small and little known?

It is great if God is in it,

And He’ll not forget His own.

Are you laid aside from service,
Body worn from toil and care?

You can still be in the battle,

In the sacred place of prayer.

When the conflict here is ended
And our race on earth is run,

He will say, if we are faithful,

“Welcome home, My child—well done!”

Kittie L. Suffield

This song written in the 1920’s has words that are so true. God is in the little things that we do. He wants us to be faithful in what He asks. No task is too small if done for His glory. One soul that you witness to could be the next Billy Graham or Charles Stanley. Be faithful in the little things and He turns them into big things.

Luke 19:17 And he said unto him, Well, thou good servant: because thou hast been faithful in a very little, have thou authority over ten cities.
